Chapter 12

Wooyoung woke up with a throbbing headache, his head absolutely pounding. He groaned and rolled over, shoving his face into his pillow. He must have drunk a lot last night to have this bad of a headache. He groaned into his pillow once again when he realised it was doing nothing to help his head stop hurting.

"What the hell did I do last night," he groaned. He peeled his face from his pillow and slowly pushed himself to his feet. He shuffled to his door, opening it and stumbling out of the room. The sun was shining through the blinds and into the apartment, making Wooyoung groan once again. He walked out to the loungeroom where the TV was playing. He found Yeosang eating chips on the couch while watching a movie.

"You look like shit," Yeosang said, eying him up and down as he walked over.

"I feel like shit," Wooyoung said as he flopped down beside Yeosang. Yeosang put the chips to the side and opened his arms. Wooyoung happily flopped into them, hugging Yeosang tightly.

"I feel like death," he whined, making Yeosang chuckle.

"That does not surprise me. You drank a lot last night. I'm surprised you aren't puking in a toilet right now," Yeosang said.

"Shit, was I that bad," Wooyoung asked.

"Yeah but don't worry, I made sure to get you home as soon as you were too drunk to function," Yeosang said with a grin.

"Very comforting. Sorry if I was a handful to deal with," Wooyoung said with a wince, rubbing Yeosang's stomach softly. Yeosang chuckled and ruffled Wooyoung's hair.

"Ow, pounding headache right now Sang," Wooyoung said.

"Right, sorry. Anyway, you weren't a handful to me because I didn't bring you home," Yeosang admitted.

"What, you didn't? How did I get home then," Wooyoung asked with a frown.

"Oh, uh, I called San and he took you home. Mum and dad wanted me home for the night. I was worried something might happen to you if you went home alone though," Yeosang said.

"Oh, when did he leave," Wooyoung asked with a frown.

"Dunno. It's 2pm right now and I got back around 11 but he was already gone so he must've left this morning," Yeosang replied.

"Ugh Sangie, I probably embarrassed myself so bad. Why would you let me be drunk and alone with San," Wooyoung asked with a groan.

"You were fine. I didn't get any frantic messages begging to him out of there," Yeosang said with a shrug.

"That doesn't mean I didn't do anything weird. God, I hope I didn't annoy him too much," Wooyoung said with a sigh.

"Knowing you, you were probably thirsting over him because you have the hots for him," Yeosang said with a shrug as Wooyoung's eyes went wide in panic.

"Yeosang don't even joke about that. Ooh my god I would be mortified," Wooyoung said with a gasp. Yeosang chuckled and rubbed his back lightly.

"Ok, ok. I'm sure everything was fine. You were dressed and in bed safe which is all that matters," Yeosang said.

"I hope so. Now. I'm in pain so baby me," Wooyoung said, his voice slightly muffled as he had shoved his face into Yeosang's shoulder.

"Fine. I'll go get you some Panadol," Yeosang said, failing to keep the chuckle from his voice.

"You're so mean, laughing at my pain," Wooyoung said. Yeosang got up and Wooyoung laid down properly on the couch, shoving his head into the pillow.

"Do you want water or juice," Yeosang called out.

"Water," Wooyoung replied.

"Ok, here you are," Yeosang said as he bent down beside Wooyoung. Wooyoung shifted slightly and opened his mouth. Yeosang popped the tablets in and placed the cup to Wooyoung's lips. He helped the younger drink before pulling back.

"They should kick in soon. Do you need anything else," Yeosang asked.

"I think I'm going to go back to my room and try to sleep it off a bit more," Wooyoung said with a sigh.

"Ok, come on," Yeosang said. He helped Wooyoung up and followed him to bed. Yeosang tucked the younger into bed before going into his bathroom. A few seconds later he came back out with a damp cloth in his hand. He gently placed the cloth onto Wooyoung's forehead and Wooyoung breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Feel a bit better," Yeosang asked.

"Yeah, thanks Sangie," Wooyoung whispered.

"No problem. I have to go out at 3:30 but you call me if you need anything," Yeosang said.

"Ok," Wooyoung replied. Yeosang gave him a quick kiss to the cheek before leaving, closing the door behind himself. Wooyoung was ready to go to sleep but remembered that San brought him home the night before and he should thank him. He quickly grabbed his phone and pulled up his contact.

Youngie: Hey Sannie, Yeosang told me that you helped me get home last night so I wanted to thank you even though I know you'll say it's nothing and you're just glad I'm safe

Youngie: Also I'm sorry if I was a handful to get home. I know I can be pretty hectic when I'm drunk. So yeah, sorry if I was a bit annoying

San didn't reply for a few minutes so Wooyoung guessed he was busy. He put his phone away and decided to go to sleep.

~~~~~
Wooyoung woke up at 6pm that night, feeling a lot more awake with his headache fully gone. He got out of bed and checked his phone for messages. San still hadn't replied but Yeosang had sent a message.
My World: I'm helping with another clothing line so I won't be back until late. Don't do anything stupid and stay safe
Wooyoung sighed as he realised he was all alone with nothing to do. He contemplated what he wanted to do before thinking about Wonderland. He hasn't gone in a few days and given that he's so bored, he figured watching some fights might do him some good. He pulled up San's contact again, frowning as he saw that San had read the messages but not replied to them. He found that odd but figured maybe San just forgot to reply. He wanted to go to the ring but he's also not supposed to walk around alone down town.
Youngie: Hey Sannie, are you fighting tonight? I want to go but Yeosang is away
Wooyoung waited a few minutes before seeing that San read the message but once again there was no reply. Wooyoung waited another few minutes but there was still no reply from the fighter. Wooyoung bit his lip nervously and wondered if perhaps he had done something to upset San. Maybe he was too annoying last night. He decided to try and call San instead but it just rung through to voicemail. Wooyoung huffed in frustration. He wants to go to the ring but Yeosang isn't there and San won't answer. He's been told not to walk alone but he's also tried to contact San to walk with him and he's out of options. He thought about it for a few seconds before giving in. What're the chances that Zeus or someone would find him the one time in a while that he walks alone. He quickly got changed into some dark clothes and put on some runners. Once he was changed, he finally left the apartment, finding Natalia at reception.
"Hey Natalia, how's it going," he asked.
"It's going good. How've you been," she asked.
"Not too bad. Listen, you usually get here around 7am right," Wooyoung asked.
"Yeah, why," she asked him in return.
"Did you see San leave this morning? San's the guy who's come here a few times," Wooyoung said.
"Oh yeah, the hot boy," Natalia said with a nod.
"Yeah, did you see him leave," Wooyoung asked.
"Uh, no. I definitely didn't see him leave. Why," Natalia asked. Wooyoung sighed and shook his head.
"I was just wondering, don't worry about it," he said.
"Ok. Well, what're you doing now," Natalia asked.
"Ah, I'm just going for a walk and then I'm meeting a friend," Wooyoung said.
"Ok. Have fun," Natalia said with a grin. Wooyoung waved goodbye before finally leaving the building. He put his hood over his head and shoved his hands into his pockets before he started to walk the familiar route to the ring.
It was after he passed into the downtown area about 5 minutes ago that he noticed movement behind him. He tried not to be paranoid but it was definitely the sound of footsteps trailing behind him, matching his pace. He cursed to himself quietly but kept walking, not wanting to panic too much. He slipped out his phone and quickly dialled San's number, not wanting to get hurt again but it rang through. He started to get worried and regretted walking alone again.
He heard the sound of footsteps quickening and he glanced back to see someone running towards him. Wooyoung panicked and started running as well, not wanting to get caught and beaten up again. His heart started racing, his breath quickening as well as he sprinted down the road. He ducked down an alley before running towards Dalton St.
When he finally turned down the street, he collided with a body and fell to the ground with a groan. His arm was suddenly grabbed and he was yanked up as he whimpered, his eyes landing on the person he collided with. He was scared but then he recognised their face and he instantly relaxed. He was safe. Hopefully.
"Someone's following me," he rushed out.
"Stay behind me," the other said, tugging Wooyoung behind him. Wooyoung's heart was still racing and he shakily grabbed the back of the boys shirt. The person who had been following Wooyoung suddenly caught up to them and Wooyoung whimpered, moving closer to the others back.
"Ah, I should have known there would be someone keeping an eye on him," the man who was following said.
"Of course there will be. You seriously think Lynx is just going to let him walk around alone? You need to tell Zeus to cut it out. He and Lynx can work it out in the ring. Stop dragging Wooyoung into this just because he isn't a fighter."
"Lynx is the one who dragged him into this, not us," the chaser said.
"Bullshit. Tell Zeus to back off and stop being such a sore loser. Wooyoung's parents are very well known so if anything happens to him, then everything goes to shit," Bear yelled angrily. The other guy scoffed but finally walked off. Wooyoung was still shakily slightly but relaxed as the danger had past. Bear turned around to him and sighed.
"I know they've said you make stupid decisions but come on Wooyoung, seriously? Why the hell would you walk around here alone again when you've been told not to," Bear asked. Wooyoung sniffled and wrung his hands nervously.
"I wanted to go to the ring," he said quietly.
"Then call someone. You should have called Lynx, he would've come to get you," Bear said.
"I did. I messaged and called him but he didn't answer me. I didn't have any other options but I was bored so I decided to just walk. I even called him when I realised I was being followed but he didn't answer," Wooyoung explained.
"Wait, you called him and he didn't answer you," Bear asked with a confused frown.
"Yes, I called him twice," Wooyoung said with a nod.
"That doesn't sound right, something must have happened. Come on, I'll take you home," Bear said.
"What, no. I came because I wanted to watch some fights," Wooyoung said.
"I should get you home. Lynx will kill me if I let something happen to you," Bear said, shaking his head.
"He probably wouldn't even notice. I'm pretty sure he's ignoring me at the moment. He's read my messages but just reply," Wooyoung said.
"I think you're reading too far into things. San would rather get beaten himself than let you get hurt," Bear said. Wooyoung knew what he was saying was true but he couldn't help but to worry that maybe San was done with him. He had obviously done something the night before that had upset San and the older wasn't talking to him anymore.
"If Lynx will kill you if I get hurt then you should probably walk me to the ring cos either way, I'm going," Wooyoung said. Bear sighed but nodded.
"Come on," he said. The two of them walked the rest of the way to Wonderland, not getting into any more trouble.
"I'm going to find Lynx but h might already be in a fight by now. Don't leave here alone," Bear said before walking off. Wooyoung sighed and walked over to the bar, sitting down on one of the stools. He glanced around the bar but sighed when he realised Hongjoong wasn't there. He didn't want to drink, not after last night so he got up and walked through the door at the back. He went out into the stands, wanting to see who was fighting first before looking for San. When he got there however, he found San in the ring warming up. Wooyoung sat in the front row and tried to catch San's eyes. San eventually did see him after a bit but he didn't react how he usually does, instead looking away without acknowledging him. Wooyoung's heart sunk and he realised San was definitely ignoring him. He had seen the calls and texts but chose to ignore all of them.
"Alright Ladies and Gentleman, the fight will commence in one minute." San and the other fighter stepped into the middle of the ring. Wooyoung sighed and sat back to watch the fight. When the bell rang, San went quick and hard. The person he was fighting was able to hold their own for about 2 minutes before it became clear that he was outclassed. It quickly turned into a one-sided fight as the other just tried to stay standing while receiving a beating. The fight was done in less than 10 minutes.
"Our winner to no one's surprise, Lynx everyone." San did a lap of the ring before bowing down and leaving, not even sparing Wooyoung a glance. Wooyoung frowned and got up from his seat, leaving the stands and heading into the hall. San always goes straight back to his room after a fight so that's where Wooyoung went. He needs to talk to the older, he needs to figure out what the hell he did wrong. When he got to the door, he grabbed the handle and tried to open it however it was locked. He frowned at that, trying it again but it was definitely locked. He changed methods and decided to knock, waiting a few seconds before knocking again after gaining no reply.
"Hey Lynx, it's Wooyoung. Can you open the door please, I want to talk to you," Wooyoung said. There was still no reply and Wooyoung got anxious. Did he really do something that bad? Bad enough for San to just completely ice him out with no warning.
"Lynx I know you're in there. Please just open the door so we can talk," Wooyoung said. Yet again there was no reply.
"Please," he begged quietly. He waited 30 seconds before realising he was going to receive no reply. His anxiety turned into annoyance and then into anger. He has no idea what he said the night before or what he did but he was drunk and completely out of it. He understood that he could have upset San but that didn't give him the right to shut him out like that. He should have at least told him why he's so upset with him. Wooyoung tried his best to get an answer, to try and talk to San. It hurt but he was done trying.
"Fine, be like that. I'm walking home so I'll see you some other rime. Unless you now think I'm a piece of shit and don't want to see me again. If so then that means this is goodbye. Let's hope I don't get stabbed to death on the way home," Wooyoung scoffed before walking away. He had anger bubbling up inside him, not caring if walking home would be dangerous. He stormed through the bar before heading outside. He paused when the door closed and he realised it was pouring outside. He only hesitated for a few seconds before huffing and stepping out onto the street. It was bucketing so Wooyoung was soaked right away but he didn't care, he continued forwards, making his way home. He barely made it 3 minutes before his wrist was grabbed and he was yanked back, colliding with a body.
"Are you that fucken stupid." Wooyoung scoffed and shoved him back.
"Didn't realise you still cared," he said.
"Of course I still care. Why would I want you to get hurt," San said with a frown.
"Are you shitting me? You go from ignoring me to suddenly caring again? Make up your mind Lynx," Wooyoung spat with a frown.
"I wasn't ignoring you Wooyoung, I was just busy," San said.
"Right, busy. Well continue being busy," Wooyoung said, yanking his hand from the others grasp and continuing to walk. He only got 3 steps before he was grabbed again, almost slipping in the rain but San steadied him.
"I've told you not to walk alone Wooyoung, it's d-."
"Dangerous, yes I've heard. You didn't seem to care earlier when I called to see if you could walk with me. Nor did you care when I called because I was scared I was going to get hurt again, when I was getting followed. You didn't give a shit then. Listen, I get that I probably did something wrong last night but I was drunk. The least you could do is enlighten me on what the hell I did that was so bad you don't want anything to do with me anymore," Wooyoung said.
"Y-Your called me earlier because you were scared," San asked quietly, almost getting drowned out by the rain but Wooyoung still heard it.
"Isn't that what I'm supposed to do? Call you when I'm in trouble and you'll help? You know, considering it's technically your fault that psycho is trying to hurt me. The least you could do is actually answer when I call," Wooyoung said angrily.
"Youngie. Woo I'm sorry, I had no idea. I didn't think you were going to still come alone when you had no one to walk with you. I thought you would stay home if I didn't answer," San said.
"Yeah well I didn't. I wanted to come and find you and figure out why you were ignoring my messages," Wooyoung said sadly. All of the anger was seeping from his bones, leaving confused and upset.
"Do you really not remember," San asked.
"No Sannie, I don't. I was drunk and I don't even remember seeing you last night. I have no idea what I did wrong," Wooyoung said as he started to cry. San's heart broke and he felt awful.
"Youngie, I'm sorry," he said. Wooyoung let out a sob and shook his head.
"I don't know what I did wrong," he cried.
"Nothing, you did nothing wrong," San said, shaking his head as he stepped closer, his hands flitting over Wooyoung's arms.
"Then why do you hate me again," Wooyoung asked.
"I don't, I swear I don't. I just, you said something last night and I panicked," San said quickly.
"What? I said something and it made you that angry that you just ignored me out of the blue," Wooyoung said.
"I wasn't mad at you Wooyoung, I could never be angry with you. I just panicked," San said.
"About what? What could be so bad that it would make you ignore me," Wooyoung asked sadly.
"It doesn't matter Wooyoung. Like you said, you were drunk and you can't even remember what happened. I should not have acted the way I did," San said, shaking his head.
"That's not going to fly with me San. Do you know how shitty I felt when I realised you were actually ignoring me? I thought you cared Sannie," Wooyoung whispered sadly.
"I do Wooyoung, I promise I do. If anything I-I care too much," San said. Wooyoung frowned and shoved San back, making him stumble a few steps and almost slip in the rain.
"What does, what does that even mean? How can you care too much? What're you talking about," Wooyoung asked.
"It doesn't matter. I'm sorry though, for upsetting you so much and for not answering when you called," San said.
"No, it does matter. I have a right to know what was so bad that I said that I forced you to ignore me," Wooyoung said.
"It was nothing Wooyoung," San said.
"No it wasn't. If it was nothing then you wouldn't have cared," Wooyoung said, shaking his head.
"I'm sorry Youngie," San whispered. Wooyoung shook his head. San was still lying to him. Why was he still lying to him?
"What did I say," he asked.
"Woo-."
"What did I say? Why can't you just tell me," Wooyoung cut in.
"It's not important," San said quietly.
"Bullshit. What did I say," Wooyoung asked.
"Nothing."
"It was obviously something."
"Wooyoung don't wo-."
"SAN!"
"YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME!" Wooyoung's mouth snapped closed and he stumbled back a step.
"You said you loved me and I panicked," San whispered. Wooyoung blinked slowly, San's words sinking in.
"I said I loved you," he said slowly, glancing at San only to see he was looking at the ground. They both went quiet, the only sound being the rain.
Wooyoung's mind was racing, going over what San had told him. He drunkenly told San that he loved him and San hated it that much that he panicked and didn't want to see Wooyoung again. He was so repulsed at the thought of Wooyoung loving him that he tried to get away from him, to ice him out. He was drunk though, he didn't actually mean it. It's fine, he didn't mean it, San doesn't need to be repulsed.
"I didn't mean it. I was drunk San, seriously. That's what freaked you out? I don't love you San," Wooyoung said with a weak chuckle.
"Y-You don't," San asked quietly.
"Of course not. Like I said, I was just drunk," Wooyoung replied quickly.
"O-Oh," San said quietly, glancing down at the ground again.
"Yeah, so you don't need to worry ok," Wooyoung said desperately.
"I wasn't worried. I just, I panicked," San said.
"I know but it's fine now. There's no need to panic," Wooyoung said quickly.
"It wasn-. Yeah, it's fine," San said with a sigh.
"Right, are we good? No more ignoring me," Wooyoung asked.
"Yeah of course. Sorry about that, it was stupid," San said.
"Come on, I'll get you home," he added. Wooyoung smiled and nodded quickly. It was ok, he and San were ok. He fixed the situation, there's no need to worry. It doesn't matter that his heart hurts at the thought of San being repulsed by him. All that matters is San doesn't have to hate him and he isn't leaving him.
