Chapter 18

"Wow! A real live house." Austin smiles as he looks around the living room.

"A real live house?" Tim asks with a laugh.

"You know what I mean." Austin chuckles.

"It's hard to believe that we actually will be living here." Nate says with a huge grin as he tries out the couch.

"But there's a lot of cleaning that needs to be done before we move in." Adam says.

"For real." Austin smiles as he writes his name in the dust on the mantel.

"Well, we're off for the rest of the day so can we get started?" Rob asks. "And tomorrow is Sunday, we can get a lot done."

"But we're going to need some things from town." Tim says. "It's really too late to go today and everything will be closed tomorrow."

"But we can still clean, can't we?" Adam asks, giving his boyfriend a pleading look.

"There's a lot of brush that still needs clearing too." Chance adds.

After giving Austin and Nate a tour of the house, Tim rubs his hands together, "Well, let's get started."

"Where do we start?" Adam laughs as they all stand in the center of the living room looking around.

"I know where I'm going to start." Rob says as he walks toward the kitchen. "MY kitchen."

"If I can find a broom, I'm going to start knocking these cobwebs down." Tim says, looking up at the ceiling.

"I'll start cleaning our bedroom. You can't even see out of the windows." Adam says.

After searching the house for cleaning supplies, they find nothing.

"Well, ain't this a b*tch." Tim huffs. "I'm going to go see if Lilly has a broom and maybe some cleaning rags and a bucket we can use."

"I guess we need to add a broom to our shopping list." Adam smiles.

Tim leaves to walk over to Sam's while the others look around to see what they could get done.

The outlaw sees Lilly hanging up clothes on the clothesline.

"Well, hello, handsome." Lilly smiles. "How are the others liking the house?"

"They love it." Tim smiles. "We thought we would try and get some cleaning done but there's nothing to clean with."

"I got you covered." She says as she hangs up the last of her laundry.

Tim picks up the tub and follows her back to the house.

She begins to load him down with a couple of brooms, buckets, cleaning rags and anything else she thought they may need.

"Those old sheets covering the furniture aren't really any good so you can rip them up for rags if you need them." Lilly says.

Tim nods as he tries to balance everything that she had piled in his arms.

"You need the buckboard, son?" Sam laughs.

"Naw, I think I got this." Tim chuckles as he almost drops one of the buckets.

~~

"You rest. I'm going to check on the boys." Lilly says as she kisses her husband's cheek.

It had been about an hour since Tim had left with the cleaning supplies. She was curious about just how much cleaning six single outlaws could do.

As she walks up on the porch, she hears Tim having a sneezing fit in the living room. He was attempting to knock down all the cobwebs but the dust was winning.

She could hear shouts coming from the house as the guys yell to one another from the rooms they were working in.

Lilly smiles as she walks up behind the outlaw. He was fixing to reach the broom back up to the ceiling but having to stop to sneeze a couple more times.

Rolling her eyes, she takes him by the arm to turn him around to face her. Without saying a word, she reaches up and pulls the bandana, that he had tied around his neck, over his nose and mouth. She smiles and raises her brows.

"I was just fixin to do that." Tim says as he stares at her. "ACHOOO!!"

"Whatever." She laughs as she rolls up her sleeves. "Looks like you boys need some help."

"All we can get." Tim says, his eyes crinkling from his smile under the bandana.

She knew that Tim had the hardest job, dealing with the living room by himself. But she thought she would check to see how everyone else was doing. Rob sang happily as he washed the dishes. Adam was in the master bedroom. He had taken the curtains down to wash. He hummed softly to himself as he cleaned the windows. Everything had been dusted and the floor swept. It was really looking nice.

"Chance? You bout finished with the broom?" Austin calls out from his and Nate's bedroom.

"Yeah!" Chance yells back as he was busy trying to get the curtains down.

She didn't want to interrupt their work so she tiptoes back to the living room to help Tim.

After finishing the bedrooms, Austin and Nate go to help Rob while Chance and Adam go to help Tim and Lilly.

"Has anyone seen my wife?" Sam laughs as he hobbles into the house. "Lands a goshins'." He says as he looks around. He hadn't seen this house look this clean in ages.

"You can't have her." Tim laughs as he raises the now clean windows to let the house air out.

"This place looks ready to move in." Sam says.

"Not quite." Tim replies.

"We still need to go to town to get the things we need. And that won't be until Monday." Adam sighs.

"Since we got the house livable, we may work on the yard tomorrow." Tim says as he pulls down the bandana covering his nose and mouth.

"There are tools in the old shed that you can use. Sling blades, saws, axes, gloves." Sam says.

"Is there a limit to what you want cut down?" Chance asks. After all, this is still Sam's property.

"Son, you can cut down as much as you want. This is your place now." Sam smiles. "The trees can be used as firewood this winter."

"I'm going to go start supper. After we eat, I can help you make a list of things you'll need, if you like." Lilly says as she picks up the curtains they had taken down. "I'll wash these after church tomorrow."

"That would be very much appreciated, mam." Tim smiles and nods. The outlaw had grown to love this couple very much. They reminded him of his own parents. Lilly was a lot like his own mom. Strong but a beautiful caring lady. Sam was tough as leather on the outside but had a good heart.

~~

After supper, Lilly cleared the table and asked Adam to get a pencil and some paper from a drawer. They gathered around the table and begin to make a list out of the things they would need.

"Slow down." Adam laughs as he tried to write down everything that was being called out.

Bedding for four single beds and one full-size bed, towels, soap, flour, lard, sugar, salt, other food items, personal items, fuel for the lamps, the list went on and on.

"Are we forgetting anything?" Adam asks after reading off the list.

"Kitchen table and chairs." Tim answers. "A new bucket and rope for the well."

"Oh, yeah." Adam chuckles as he writes it down.

"I think that's enough for right now." Tim says as he lays his head on his lover's shoulder. It had been a long day working in the garden and cleaning the house. He was ready for some relaxation with his boyfriend.

"That's enough to get you moved in." Lilly nods.

"Sam, we'll check the garden in the morning to see if anything is needed to be done before starting on the yard of the house." Tim says as he stands from the table.

"Oh, it'll be fine for one day. Besides, tomorrow is Sunday. Your day off." Sam replies.

"If you call working in the yard pulling grass, cutting brush and trees a day off." Tim chuckles as he and his gang head out the door.

~~

"Just think, in a couple of days, we'll be sleeping in real beds." Chance says as he straightens his blanket on the hay.

"And no more climbing a ladder to get to your bed." Tim says as he holds the ladder for his lover to climb up.

"And no more sleeping under two sex craved maniacs." Austin adds as he lays down on his blanket under the loft.

"Then plug your ears." Adam laughs as he lays down.

"Are you too tired for a little playtime?" The blonde whispers as his outlaw lay down next to him.

"Never." Tim smiles as he takes his lover into his arms and kisses him passionately.

A moan escapes from Adam's lips as the brunette squeezes his ass as he nibbles on his neck.

"Oh, come on y'all." Austin groans below them causing the lovers to giggle.

"D*mn, that feels so good." Tim says as he winks at the blonde, as they cuddle.

"You like that?" Adam says as he smiles at Tim.

"Oh, God, Yes! Harder!" Tim says as he tries not to laugh.

"I can't believe this sh*t." Austin grumbles as he picks up his blanket to find himself another area away from the lovers.

"Can't y'all hold off until we get into the house?" Chance asks.

"Oh, relax." Tim laughs as he and Adam look over the edge of the loft. "We ain't doing anything."

"Yeah, we're just messing with y'all." Adam giggles.

"You know I hate y'all, right?" Austin growls at the laughing couple as he lays his blanket back down.
