"No one was dead," was the only way Hermione could stay positive after every day of the month that she was a werewolf. Harry always tried to cheer her up without her having to say that so much. It didn't do much help no matter how hard he tried.
But right before Christmas break something strange happened. Professor Quirrell was sneaking around the castle with his turban making noises that scared the man walking.
Hermione had to run outside as it was almost a full moon, and Harry was trying to keep up behind her but they ran into the professor.
Hermione tried to recover from the fall but she couldn't s as she felt her bones slowly shifting and her head shaping into one of a wolf's. Her veins popped out of her skin as she grew fur everywhere, and Harry had just found his glasses when he saw her.
"W-w-werewolf!"
Harry turned to the professor and right when he was going to change into his illegal animagus ability, he heard a grunt come from behind the man's head.
"Professor, I know it seems bad but we need to get her outside quick"
"Mister P-P-Potter, I will not go near that m-m-monster"
Harry was angry when the man used those choice of words. For someone who stutters and faints, he had a lot of nerve to say such a thing about Harry Potter's best friend.
In a protective instinct, he reached for his wand in his back pocket. He casted the first spell that came to mind.
"Wingardium LeviOsa!"
Unfortunately for his rage, his aim was off. Fortunately for the sake of his and the whole school's life, it aimed to the turban on his head.
"Quirrell, what have you done?"
The yelling voice came from the professor but his mouth wasn't moving. Then Harry noticed something strange. His head, the back of it, was abnormally large. Almost like he.. he had another head.
He actually had another head attached to his own. It had the face of another male, with red eyes, and slits for a nose.
"You're... you're him. You're Voldemort" realized Harry.
Behind him, his best friend was nearly a werewolf, but he was caught off guard by the face of the one who gave him his scar and left him an orphan.
"Harry Potter... it's been too long"
Harry came back to attention when he heard a noise. A sort of grunt an animal might make.
"Hermione..."
He was glad she took the potion that his sort-of-uncle Remus does every full moon.
"Quick, get to Hagrid's hut!"
Almost a werewolf, she quickly ran off, towards the location he told her, and he turned back to face the fraud of a professor.
"You lied to the school. You lied to Dumbledore"
"Oh, did I now? I had no idea"
Harry didn't like his sarcasm one bit. Before he could even think of what spell to use on the two-faced professor, he saw a glimpse of blond hide in the shadows down the hall.
He didn't have to think much to know who it was, as it seemed to stand out the same as Draco Malfoy's hair quite too coincidentally.
Right as he turned his attention back to the two headed body, a pair of eyes was already on what Harry was just looking away from.
"Someone's seen us, s-s-sir!"
"Well what are you waiting for? Go and get them"
"No!"
Harry's yells didn't stop him, or them, so he casted the first spell that came out of his mouth.
"Flipendo!"
It gave him time to run ahead of the single body and try to help get the innocent Slytherin out of death's way.
He couldn't find him at first, but he soon saw his hair thanks to the ray of light hitting the side of his face.
"Come on, get out of here before they find you"
The boy hesitated to get out of his hiding place before he sprinted down the rest of the hall and turned into another one.
Right as Harry knew he was safe, he heard footsteps turn into the hall and two breaths, one heavy and one light as a feather.
"Harry Potter, you may have escaped death once but now I assure you it won't work again"
There was a wand aimed for him, and he only smirked before he grabbed the hem of his robe and cleared his throat.
"Sorry, I hate to leave on such short notice but I actually have more important things to do"
He raised his robes to cover his entire body completely and, as gravity brought it back down, it was no longer there.
Harry was now as his animagus form but the two pairs of eyes couldn't see him in the shadows and he was very fast on his paws.
He changed back to the boy he was when they wouldn't see it happening, and made sure to make a sort of noise to draw them towards him.
"Over here Professor Liar"
He hurried to be a cat and ran quickly through the path to get to the Headmaster or anyone else of help that was closer.
"Come on Slowly-mort, I thought you were faster than that"
His cat ears made him hear a disturbance not too far away, and he changed direction when he knew it was Malfoy and something that was definitely not even from the part of the forest Hagrid would visit.
He came up with a plan he would figure out the steps of as it went, and hurried to put it into action with as little injuries for his fellow classmate as possible.
"Wow, you're really not in shape if you go one mile an hour, huh Professor Stutter?"
It was the last comment he needed to draw the two people with one body into the boy's bathroom apparently.
He saw a ten foot tall beast with a wooden and definitely not smooth club in its hand, with torn clothes on its back.
Malfoy, he noticed, was under a rubble of what was once the bathroom stalls.
"Draco, move!"
The boy didn't need to be told twice. As soon as he changed his position to be under the sinks, the troll raised its club.
"Wingardium leviosa!"
Harry unarmed the gigantic creature, and, with only a grunt, the troll looked up to see where his weapon had gone, before it fell in its face and knocked it unconscious.
"Well I admit that's impressive to be able to defeat a mountain troll like that on your own, and escaping death as an infant, but your time to play hero is up"
At this point, Harry rolled his eyes and glared at red eyes and the back of what he thought just yesterday to be a normal Professor.
"I'm not one to play hero, actually. Just playing the role of not letting anyone die in my hands and control. Sort of like the opposite of you, because you insist on letting people die by your command and will"
"Sassy are we, Mister Potter?"
"Not as much as cast-y," —he raised his wand, ready to cast a spell—, "Wingardium Leviosa"
"D-diffindo!"
Harry turned to the corner of the bathroom, near the sinks. The Slytherin had his wand in hand, not hesitant to give a hand.
Malfoy has made the wand, the one that was Quirrell's, break in midair and discard into pieces of wood on the bathroom floor.
"How dare you, you-"
"Excuse me, I hate to interrupt our lovely chat but it seems curfew is a whole negative five minutes. Fumos"
Smoke emitted from his wand, blocking the view of both pairs of eyes as Harry pulled Draco along to gather his sense of what was going on. They escaped the bathroom with ease but Harry knew something had to be done before every students' life was put in danger.
"Go get the Headmaster, a professor, or anybody!"
"What about you?"
"I'll hold them off"
"Are you stupid or something? You can't just- there's no way- Potter you're crazy to think I'd leave you here alone"
"I got my wand, don't worry. Now go!"
The blond hesitated to move, but finally spoke before parting ways.
"You bloody Gryffindor, I hate you"
He left the petit boy alone with nothing but his wand and snarky comebacks, and went to get help as fast as his legs dared to take him. That death-resistant boy just had to be so brave and attractive?
That boy would be the end of him, but he also was the only reason he bothered to attend Hogwarts rather than another school of magic, Durmstrang.
A/N: Was that good? I wasn't sure and it's been a while. A long while. Quite a while. So long my ship opinions have changed and a different ship emerges to be more appealing than Dramione. Might make this Drarry, not sure. Anyways, how are you readers doing? How's your holidays? Merry holidays, here's your gift from me to you
