~~~~~~~{Supposed to be waves}
Living on an island with the four earthy elements wasn't as bad as you think it would be.
Igniter cooked all of the food perfectly so no one would get sick.
Aspen knew which berries you could eat, and he made leaf bandages with tree sap that he found in the lush of the island.
Alistair kept track of time and watched over the weather patterns, and he even flew into town to get things If needed.
Lastly, Octavian purified the water with his tears, and he kept all of the bad sea life away. Yet he lured fish to each of you. You both would collect sea shells that happened to wash up at the shore.
"Y/n, are you going to keep staring at him like that? Or are you going to talk to him?" Aspen chuckled, taking a seat next to you on the sand and crossing his legs.
A pink blush lights on your cheeks and you playfully shove him. "Shush Aspen! He might hear you!"
The earth element giggles and plucks a blue lilly off his head vine and hands it to you. "Cheer him up, he didn't sleep well last night, he said he thought he heard singing.. Odd is it not?"
Taking the delicate bloom in your hands, you tilt your head. "Was Igniter singing in the hot springs again?"
Aspen shook his head. "As funny as that is, no it wasn't him. I heard it too, it was oddly.. Alluring. Its hard to explain."
"Weird. Maybe some dumb people passing by on a boat?" You ask standing to wipe the sand off your shorts.
Aspen closes his eyes and lays on the sand, his vines sprawled out behind him like long hair. "Maybe so, but keep an eye out would you?"
"Sure thing." You smile then begin to walk over to the young water element that made butterflies flutter in your stomach.
Octavian himself was always a shy, sensitive one. He would tear up at any raised voice or insult, mostly from Igniter's angry fits. The water element kept to himself and used to always hide behind his mothers skirt, until they got older and moved to be alone on this island.
He sat on the mossy rocks with his bare feet in the water, his hands in his lap as he watched the tide, a few fish swam around him happily.
"Hi octi." You smile and take a seat next to him. "How are you?"
His beautiful icy blues meet yours a small smile on his face. "I'm doing just fine, now that you're here!... Was that too bold?" He squeaks and hides his face in his hands.
"No! You're fine." You giggle and tuck the blue flower into his crown, then place a caring kiss on his ocean blue gem.
His cheeks flush a neon blue as he squeaks again.
You smile and pull him into a side hug. "C'mere ocean boi. You need your daily dose of cuddles."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"That story f**king sucked a**." Igniter chuckled, standing from his spot on the log, his floral shirt burnt at the ends from his temper tantrum from earlier.

Aspen shook his head. "Must you always use that language?"

Alistair giggles. "I have to agree though! That story was so cliche! I mean, sirens are just old fish tales!"

Aspen rolled his evergreen eyes. "Oh please. You all just don't have good taste, it would make since as to why we heard that singing last night. Think about it."

"Yeah I could, but nah that's stupid. Who the f**k believes in a stupid singing mermaid b*tch who doesn't wear a shirt? Not me. Night a**holes!" Igniter downed his last coconut drink before leaving the campfire to walk back to the tree house.

Which was basically a massive mansion built into the trees and built into the cliff, but whatever.

Alistair stretched his wings. "It's all make believe! I'm going to bed, night everyone!" He sends you all one last goofy smile before taking off again.

Aspen sighs. "What about you two?"

Octavian looks out to the ocean again, tilting his head. "I think its possible. I mean, anything is if you really think about it."

You, who was leaning on his shoulder tiredly nodded. "I agree, I mean I am living on an island with four magical skeletons with elemental powers. Its possible, trust me."

Aspen seems satisfied with both of your answers, then stands up with his hands in his pockets. "Thank you both. I bid you both goodnight. Be sure to put the fire out."

The earth element calmly walks away from the campfire, and down the path to the tree house.

Octavian's eyes never seem to leave the waves, almost like he sees something you can't. He frowns.

"Are you alright?" You ask him, sitting up to look at his unnaturally stern face.

"Y/n. I need you to cover your ears... Whatever you do, don't look him in the eyes.." He suddenly stands and begins to walk to the waters edge.

Confused and half awake, you do what he asks and cover your ears and look down at your feet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The water element takes a dive under the dark waters of the Pacific, it soothing him as it always did. The sounds of the water around him made him relax instantly.
Yet that faded quickly once he saw that the naturally blue water was tainted with blood of the innocent fish lives. He squinted barely seeing a figure gnawing on the butterfly fish that always seemed to follow him around.
The creature itself was large, at least nine feet long with its spiked tail, its scales teal but turning black under the water to blend in with the nightly waves.
Its teal eyes beautiful taking your eyes away from its massive sharp razors it called teeth, being caked in blood and ripped fins.
"They're real... In all my life I never thought I would see one.." Octavian said in shock, looking over the siren as it devoured the tiny fish, ripping them the shreds with its claws and teeth.
Until, its eyes landed on him and its grin widened. "Ooh, how deliciously sweet.~ I've never eaten a prince before.~" He chuckles.
Octavian gasps and pulls on the waters surface to quickly run across it to get back to the beach.
By the time he gets back onto the sand, a hand had grabbed his ankles, yanking him back into the water.
"Octavian!" You shouted and quickly ran over to him, grabbing his wrists to pull him back up, but the thing holding him had a rough grip.
Octavian managed to kick it harshly in the chest, knocking it back into the water, he was at your side an arm protectively around your shoulders.
The siren recoiled and showed himself, laying at the waters edge with his arms crossed. His teal eyes scanning over his previous prey, yet his smile widened at the sight of you.
"Ooh~ look at you! Aren't you just the perfect snack.~ I wonder if you're as sweet as you look." His voice was a deep baritone laced with an Australian accent, it was almost... Luring you.
"Aww~ Is your little boyfriend here going to help you get away? Pfft! How stupid! You do know I am a siren right? I could always call you back to me angelfish.~"
You stare back at him in amazement, he was beautiful for a male. Minus the sharp teeth.. The sight of him mixed with that voice was enough to leave you speechless.
Octavian stood his ground and glared at the siren. "What do you want..."
"Well, I was planning on eating you, Octavian. But that would be boring.. Now her on the other hand, I would love for her to take a dip.~" The siren chuckles, flipping his fins playfully.
Octavian growled and kicked sand into his face, quickly taking you in his arms and running to the tree house. Making sure your ears were covered.
"Ow! B*tch!" The siren wailed and dived back under the waves to wash away the sand.
End...? Possibly. Maybe not.
See you all in book 2~!
