Welcome to the neighborhood.

Fear x fem! Skeleton! reader.

Thanks for the request/suggestion hun, it really helps!

Fans have told me Fear is underrated, and yeah I agree. Even though I've learned that he's most of my fan's favorite! Well, according to the last Q and A chapter I made...

Also, quick question: Would Fear's genderbend count as a genderbend? Or would it be the opposite? Or would she just be him before his transition? Let me know!

You had set your final empty box aside, letting out a sigh in relief as you looked over your new apartment.

Monsters had been freed months ago, but many of them wanted to stick by the mountain, while you, and a good few others decided to move away from your old home and explore the world.

You moved to a small town, it had a single gas station, a small grocery store, a library, and a couple cafes and one single bakery. If you wanted any fast food, you'd have to go to the next town over which was a fifteen minute drive away.

Everyone knew each other and looked out for each other. Even the humans welcomed you and the other few monsters with open arms. It was a small farming town, quiet and comfortable.

There wasn't much drama at all. A few kids ran around exploring the park by the large pond in the center of town.

You were a young skeleton monster. You kept to yourself, down in the underground you were friends with Fuku fire.

She was a sweetheart, and her father Grillby always greeted you with a smile.

She still lived with her dad, she was currently trying to help him bring his bar up to the surface.

Deciding it was time to step outside and explore the place, you threw on your favorite hoodie and stepped out into the cold fall weather. Of course, being a skeleton you were immune to temperature, but you wore your hoodie for sentimental reasons.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leaves of orange, yellow and brown fluttered in the wind. A few humans were raking them up for the children to jump into.
A woman sent you a wave as she walked past you with her old dog. Its muzzle was grey but it sent you a gleeful tail wag regardless.
You weren't really sure where exactly you were going, but you just wondered around happily. You needed to get familiar with the area if you'd be living here for a good few years or so.
You had walked passed the bakery, the sweet smell of cinnamon and pumpkin spice filled your senses, reminding you of the season.
A stray cat walked passed you, chasing a fallen leaf, which made you snicker to yourself.
You had wondered a block or two, until you found yourself in front of the library. You didn't sleep that well, maybe a good book or two would help you get settled into your new place.
With no second to waste, you stepped inside, the little bell above the door rang as you walked inside the quaint little library.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An older woman sent you a small smile before going back to her computer. You guessed she was the librarian.

The library smelled of old ink and coffee beans. Pleasant, and welcoming, relaxing even.

In the center of the room was three long tables, a few students sat at them with their assignments.

To the left was a hallway to the bathrooms and kids room.

To the right was a small cafe with  two tables and eight chairs, a man and his wife sat at one of them with their steaming hot mugs in their hands.

Each wall was lined with tall bookcases. A few older looking sofas were in each corner with a inn table.

You quietly made your way through the isles, looking for a book of your favorite genre. You wouldn't mind a sweet love story to read on a cold night.

Or maybe some good old fashioned poetry.. With a warm cup of hot cocoa..

They both sounded nice. You weren't sure which one to go with, so you scanned the isles and shelves for ones that peaked your interest.

Your arms were filled with at least four books the more shelves you passed. Some of them were worn from being read so often, but you didn't mind.

You walked back to the librarian's counter, looking down at each book in your arms with a smile. Eager to read them.

A man was in front of you, asking the librarian questions about some series his girlfriend was looking for. He may be a while.

"..an avid reader? You don't see those these days." A voice said from behind you, you look over your shoulder.

Only to look down at the skeleton monster behind you. He looked up at you with a lifted brow.

You assumed he was male from his voice, even if it was soft as silk woven with a thick British accent.

He had a more rounded skull, with five eyes. Each of them glowing a light lavender, the bigger bottom pair gleamed behind a pair of red glasses that framed his handsome face.

"Oh! Yeah.. Its kind of a hobby of mine." You smile.

He smiles at that, showing off his fangs. "It pleases me to see someone who has a love for books like I do. People nowadays read everything on their cell phone. I couldn't care less for the modern things." He says with an eye roll. All five of his eyes rolling in sync.

It was neat to watch them all move like that.. You supposed he was a hybrid of such. They weren't all that common, so you were ecstatic that you've finally met one.

"I prefer to actually hold the books in my hand. There's just something more.. Natural about reading a book itself." You reply.

He nods his head. "Agreed my dear. Nothing better than feeling the pages in your own hands than a slick screen. Phalanges cannot really get a grip, can they?"

You giggle at that. "Don't I know it! I still have to use a crummy flip phone.. And my friend Fuku teases me about it."

"My cousin does as well." He playfully snickers. "I'm Sebastian, salutations my fellow reader."

Wow.. He was polite.. Which was something you weren't used to..

"I'm y/n." You hold out your free hand to him, his smaller hand shakes yours and you see a small marking on the back of his hand, it looks like.. An hourglass? Very much like the identical one on his forehead.

"Miss?" You hear the librarian call out, you quickly turn to her and softly apologize, handing your books to her.

Sebastian looks you over in slight interest. He hasn't seen a female skeleton in a long time, not in a perverted way.. He just looks over your skull. It was.. Oddly interesting.

"I'm sorry miss, but you have to have a library card."

"What? But I just moved here! I didn't know I needed one.." You sigh.

"Don't worry about it, I'll check those out for you." Sebastian joins your side, and slides his own card across the librarian's desk.

"No- you don't have to-"

"I've got it miss y/n. Take it as my.. Welcome gift to you." He says with a calm smile.

"Thank you so much!" You beam, grabbing a hold of your books again. Hugging them close to your chest.

The short skeleton shakes his head. "No need to thank me. Enjoy your books miss y/n. Perhaps we shall meet another time? Tata for now."

He walks out the door with his arms behind his back, a thick book tucked under his arm.

He sends you a final wave as he walks passed the large windows of the library.

You hug your books once again with a bashful smile. You were looking forward to seeing him again..

End..! I hope you enjoyed!

I see Fear as a charming boy. He's a handsome bean and I love him. :3

If the art isn't above I'll out it down here: if its not here either than.. Well f*ck. -_-
