Octavian watched you from afar with an ocean blue blush covering his face.. You had been nothing but nice to him and his brothers.

Even if you were a little freaked out by finding the worlds elements hidden in your backyard at first.. Aspen was quick to calm you with his pollen persuasion.

It took a while for Igniter to warm up to you, but the fire element slowly became closer to you.

You would cook for them, and give them little gifts here and there, mostly because they couldn't exactly walk out in public without causing a panic.. But most of the time you just wanted to show your appreciation for their company and friendship.

In return, they kept you company and showed you tricks they could off with their magic abilities.

Aspen even let you ride on his back in his buck form. He was quite the large deer and you were no problem to carry.

Igniter kept you warm during the cooler months, and he showed you the proper way to roast a marshmallow, apparently you had been doing it wrong your whole life. Who knew?

Alistair took you on sky trips, as long as you held his hand you could walk along the clouds with him. He loved carrying you and flying you around, even if he was a bit clumsy sometimes.

And Octavian.. He loved collecting shells along the bay with you. Building sand castles.. He even showed you his favorite places to just sit and think. And, you've met so many friendly sea creatures thanks to him. You two even fostered an orphaned sea turtle for a while.

Octavian couldn't help it.. Yes you were human.. Yes he would outlive you.. But you were wonderful. And he fell for you hard. Harder than when Alistair first learned how to use his wings.

He wanted to make the rest of your life memorable and wonderful. He wanted to be the one you came home to.. You were young yes, but he wanted to be there for you even when you're in your elders.

As much as he loved you, he wouldn't mind if you just preferred him as a friend, he and his brothers would be there for you. Even if it would hurt him a bit if you rejected him.. He'd hide his sadness for you, even if he was a bit of a crybaby.

There was just one problem.. Octavian had no idea how to confess to you.. None of his brothers had even been in a relationship. How was he supposed to get advice?

"Just give them flowers, humans like flowers." Igniter huffed.

"Thanks..?" The water element returned to the water with confusion.

"Just show them a good time! Y/n won't mind what it is, as long as they spend time with you! When the moment comes, you'll know!" Alistair gave him a thumbs up.

That.. Only caused more confusion.

"I suggest a gift, something homemade to show that you care. Spend time with y/n, take them to the beach where its just the two of you. Maybe you could even take them under." Aspen sends him a wink. "I believe in you."

So.. Thanks to one of his brothers, Octavian waited for you by the shore, just.. Talking to himself trying to prepare for when you joined him.

He held.. A shell necklace in his hands.. One made from the finest pearls he could find along the sea floor. A beautiful shiny conch shell in the center of it with two small spiral shells on either sides of it. He had made it himself, with twine and sea glass.

He still had no idea how to confess to you.. Hopefully you'd take the hint? He wasn't good with words. He always was the shy one..

"Hey Octave, Aspen said you wanted to see me?" Your voice made his soul stop, and his cheeks burn a light teal.

"H-hey y/n! Y-yes I wanted to s-spend time with you! Um.. Sorry.." He sighs at his stuttering, rubbing the back of his neck, he quickly stands to his full height.

He bends down to hand you the necklace he made. "I made this for you.. Its made with the best sea glass, and those pearls are real!" He looks down at his sandals.. Suddenly interested in the sand.

Your eyes light up at the sight of the necklace, you take it into your hands with a bashful smile. "Aww, Octave you didn't have too."

"I wanted to! You deserve nice things y/n.. Even if you don't think so.. May I?"

You nod your head.

He smiles shyly, and steps behind you to clasp the necklace around your neck, being gentle with his long phalanges. "There we are! You look amazing as always!"

Your cheeks flush. "Thanks Octave. Did you get a new coat? It looks great on you."

Octavian looks down and smiles. "Y-yeah, um.. Aspen helped me make it.. I wanted to look nice for you..I know I'm not the best looking and-"

You cup his cheek with your hand, well with what you can manage with your height difference. "Octavian, you're a handsome guy, I don't want you to ever doubt yourself."

His cheeks flush, causing a cascade of aquamarine to cover his face. "Y/n.. That's.. That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."

You pull him into your arms, you rest your head against his chest. "You deserve all the praise Octave, you're a sweet guy with a big heart. A little sensitivity never hurt anyone, it means you've got a good soul."

Said soul was thumping against the set of ribs you had rest your head against. Octavian smelled of sea salt and coconuts.

When you look up at him again, his ocean eyes have turned into hearts. You giggle a little before standing on your toes and kissing his teeth.

After a solid few seconds he became putty in your hands, literally, he slipped from your grasp and fell into a large puddle of water.

You let out a laugh at this, the poor boy had gotten so embarrassed he hid himself!

The water puddle rippled a few times before it rolled over to the edge of the water, joining it.

You sat in the sand with a proud smile on your face, and a strawberry blush.

He'll be back, he always comes back. You'll give him some time to calm down.
