Pool girl. (Teaser)
This is a teaser for a story idea I got during my break. It will be on quotev, but I may make it here as well.
But it may be short. I'm not all that confident at finishing my books.
Its kinda why Maid For Chaos is on hold. Maybe I'll rewrite it again. Since its outdated.
Oh well.. More on that later. I hope you enjoy~!
(Psst- the picture above, if its there, is what the Outcast pool looks like)

Jobs were always hard to find. Especially these days.
Not to mention.. You never did have very fulfilling jobs either. Just small ones here and there.
Waiting tables, selling arts and crafts, pumping gas, delivering pizzas. You name it.
But they never did last long. Either because of your temper with annoying customers, or because of the shitty coworkers.
So, you bet you were surprised to see an add nailed onto the corkboard at the laundromat.
The flier was for a job for a pool cleaner. Hmm.. Seemed simple enough. Right?
Your eyes widened. They were paying handsomely.
You could clean a pool right?
You quickly wrote down the number and rushed home with a basket full of clothes to your apartment to call them up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You waved to the taxi as it drove away. You were really nervous.. You really needed this job.. It was your last hope.
And you really didn't want to work at a strip club and dance for older perverted men with their grabby hands.
You shivered at the thought. And quickly sped walked up the driveway.
It was a giant mansion. It had to have at least three floors. Who ever lived here must be rich.
The yard was mown in perfect stripes, it smelled like it had just been mown today. Not to mention all of the beautiful rose bushes that lined the driveway and the large wrap around porch.
In the center of the yard was a small fountain with two swan statues making a perfect heart shape with their necks.
Parked by the garage was an adorable pink Volkswagen bug. It was sparkling, and it looked wet?
Next to it was an expensive looking old fashioned motorcycle. It had the different moon fazes painted along the sides of its navy blue paint.
"Wow.. Just how rich are they?" You say aloud in awe, slowly walking around the motorcycle to admire it.
"She's a beauty isn't she?"
Your eyes widen and you quickly jump away from the motorcycle, not wanting to anger the owner.
"Oh! Sorry, didn't mean ta startle ya." The voice says with an adorable chuckle. That laugh didn't have any right being that attractive.
You turn to the bug, and your eyes widen at the tall skeleton leaning on its hood.
He? They leaned on it without a shirt, exposing their thick ribcage which was wet as well.
You noticed the bucket full of sudsy water, and two large yellow sponges next to the car.
Your cheeks flushed. You had no idea how ribs could be so attractive. But you couldn't look away from them.
The skeleton smiles, revealing his sharp fangs. He was a tall skeleton monster, but he had ears and a puffy tail like a wolf.
And he wasn't bald like you expected him to be. He had a skull full of grey locks dyed blue and styled in a mowhawk.
He wore tight blue jeans with a pair of green converse. And a red checkered flannel was wrapped around his waist.
He wipes his forehead and slowly approaches you with a friendly smile. His tail swished in a cheerful way. "I'm Asher, I take it you're here for the job?"
You try to ignore your burning cheeks as you hold your hand out to him. "U-um yeah! I mean.. Yes! How did you know?"
His calloused hand locks with yours, making your hand feel tiny with his long fingers. He gives you a quick shake before tucking his hands in his pockets.
"Well, we don't get too many visitors out here. And, I overheard your phone call with my roommate." Asher leans on his side, making him slightly shorter.
That Irish accent of his was going to kill you. You knew it.
"Oh! If you don't mind me asking.. Um who do I talk to about the job?" You ask him, nervously tucking your arms behind your back.
"Oh yeah. Just head inside and take a left to the kitchen. Cupid will talk to ya about the job." He winks.
Oh your heart.
"Thanks for the help, um Asher. I'll see you later. Hopefully!" You smile back at him, before turning on your heel to make your way to the porch.
"Glad I could help ya lass." He calls back. With a small salute.
Once you were inside, you tried to calm down your thudding heart. You took a deep breath in and counted to three to calm yourself.
The house was heavily decorated. It wasn't bare like most big houses. In front of you was the grand staircase, by your sides were two doorways.
There was many different pictures of multiple skeletons together framed on the walls.
Overall, it looked really cozy.
And... It smelled like vanilla? Strawberry? You weren't sure but it smelled sweet. Just like baked pie and brown sugar.
Your stomach growled. Maybe that was the kitchen? You decided to follow the smell as to not get lost.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"...Because you need a diet!" You hear a voice say with an annoyed huff.
"But if you don't feed me properly how else am I going to keep this ecto belly you love so much?" A voice replies back with a hearty chuckle.
The first voice sounded child like? Cute and sweet.
The second was baritone, with a thick Russian accent. Warm with a slight rumble to it.
You slowly entered the doorway to the kitchen, and well.. It wasn't what you were expecting.
The floor was white and pick checkered, while the walls were painted a very light baby pink.
The cabinets were white with red heart shaped handles. Fake roses hung from the pot rack that was above the kitchen island.
The stove was a bright bubblegum pink, there was a peach colored cat teakettle resting upon it.
Sitting on the counter was a huskier skeleton. Still tall, but with a wider build. They wore an orange hoodie with a cartoony Halloween Jack-o-lantern. Purple jeans with yellow high tops.
The skeleton themselves has large bat ears, with stripes curling along their skull, cheeks and eyes. Their yellow eyes flickered like flames. They had a smirk on their face, showing off their two large canines. A pair of purple bat wings were folded against their back as well.
In front of them, was a smaller skeleton bent down by the fridge, the seemed to be searching for something?
The orange clad one chuckled once his eyes met yours.
You awkwardly waved.
"Cupid, you've got some company." He pokes at the small skeleton with his foot.
They hop up suddenly and bump their skull on one of the fridge shelves. "Ow! Huh? Oh are you Y/n? I'm the one you spoke on the phone with!"
The rub their skull before smiling at you, resting their hands on their hips.
He wore a pink sweater with a single red heart in the center of it. A golden arrow shooting through the heart. A pair of frayed jean shorts, and a pair of pink converse.
A very soft looking scarf was wrapped around his neck, the longer parts of it thrown over his shoulders. He had a red heart on his left cheek, while the other had a lipstick print.
A shiny golden halo levitated above his skull. His gumdrop pink eyes held nothing but eagerness. His smile lacked fangs. Only having dull canines instead.
"Yes, I'm y/n, you're Cupid right? Asher said you'd be ready to talk about the job?" You muster up a small smile.
He was too cute. It was like someone mashed a cute angel with Valentine's day.
....come to think of it, I think his mother did just that.
"Great! Yep I'm the one and only, Cupid Valentine ~!" He claps his hands as his soft wings flutter excitedly. He turns his head to the bulky skeleton. "Hallow would you mind?"
Hallow shrugs his shoulders. "Sure. I'll see you later pool girl." He sends you a finger gun, before hopping off the counter to leave the kitchen.
Cupid crosses his arms. "Alright, follow me outside please."
You nod your head and follow him out the sliding back doors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"As you can see.. Our pool has seen better days.. We actually renovated our house before we moved here. We just never had the chance to get to the pool... And I hate seeing it sit and rot." Cupid explains as he walks along side you, sad eyes looking over the pool.
You look over it in curiosity. "When was the last time it was cleaned?"
He rests a hand on his chin. "I actually have no idea. It was like this when mom bought the place."
"How long have you lived here?" You ask him, looking into the murky water. If you got in it, it would go to your knees.
"About a year. I was tired of seeing it sit, so we decided to leave out fliers to see if anyone could clean it so we can use it again." He replies. "The supplies are in the pool house, along with many unused floaties."
"This may take a good while. But I think I can help you guys with it. How deep is it?" You sit next to him on one of the outdoor couches on the patio.
"Hmm.. I think about ten, fifteen feet? Give or take. Now, I need to ask you a fee things. Is that okay?" He tilts his head, resting his hands in his lap.
"That sounds fine. Ask away."
"Okay, do you have any experience? I have to ask for obvious reasons.. I don't want a moron screwing it up, you see." The angel narrows his eyes.
How did he go from cute to threatening at the snap of a finger?
"I've worked many different jobs. And don't worry I wouldn't spend my pay on dumb things. And I have helped my aunt clean out her above ground pool when I was in my early teens." You reply.
He nods his head. "Would you mind if I let you stay in the guest house for the time being? I don't want you running back and forth all willy nilly from here to the city. No one would bother you, and you wouldn't have to pay rent." Cupid asks, watching your expression.
"Wait... I can stay here while I clean the pool?" You ask with wide eyes.
"Yes. If you can deal with all five of us. I just want to warn you though, babysitting them isn't an easy job." He giggles.
Well. You think, you wouldn't have to waste money on gas or taxi's.. And being in a lavish mansion didn't sound too bad at all. If the other four skeletons were as nice as he was, what was there to worry about?
"That sounds great! I'm sure they'll be no problem." You smile.
"They can be a handful. Now, if you need any supplies for the job, such as a new net, or more cleaners or even a power washer, feel free to ask. I'm more than willing to help out." Cupid returns the smile.
"Does that mean...?"
"You've got the job y/n. Now, if you'd like I can have one of my roommates drive you back home to get your things.. Or you can call us tomorrow and let us know your decision." He holds his gloved hand out to you.
You take his small hand in yours and give it a quick shake. "Thank you so much Mr.Valentine! I'll do my best!"
"Wonderful!" He beams. "Welcome to the family, y/n."
That's the concept! I hope you enjoyed~! I'll see you next time!
