Meeting: The angel.

Yeah, I'm gonna rewrite how y/n meets em all. Why? Well, re reading my old writing makes me cringe.

And they suck ass. So, I'm re writing them. Since Cupid was the first one I wrote for, he's first.

Kinda too late for new fans to find this pfft. Oh well new or old, I hope you enjoy!

I hope my arts there, if not it'll be at the bottom.

Oh, and Happy early Valentine's day my lonely beans. Don't worry Cupid and I will be your Valentine.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Valentines day was just around the corner. All the sparkly vibrant hearts was a constant reminder. Hung up in stores and every single home you passed on your walks.
You never really celebrated it. Never had anyone to celebrate it with. You'd ignore all the couples and get a box of chocolate for yourself watching My Bloody Valentine on repeat.
Your friends were far too busy with their newly found romantic lives to spend a platonic Valentines day with you.
Although you were fine with being single, it got to you some times. Sure relationships were complicated, and you may be a bit picky. But you weren't going to settle for some random dude at the bar.
Gross.
You've had crushes in the past sure, but they never lasted long. Especially when you find out that you're crush is actually a total asshole in person.
Or he ends up being a weird shit and you don't get him.
Anyway, you didn't really care for celebrating the day of love. More grossed out than anything by the couples who constantly shoved their pda down everyone's throat.
You never really had a proper relationship either. So, you stayed single and continued on with your life. Enjoying your hobbies. Loving the little things.
On your walk, you didn't expect to see a skeleton monster about to kill someone with an arrow in the town's nature park.
Monsters were here and far between, you rarely saw them. But when you did, they never failed to amaze you with how different each of them were.
But a skeleton monster? That was new. Especially one that looked like they walked out of a Valentine's store after buying every decoration they had and wearing it out.
They hid behind a bush, kneeling you think. Steadying their bow, their other arm reading the arrow in its place. Aimed at a young man who was currently speaking with a giggling girl beside him.
"Stop!" You called out, leaping to tackle the skeleton down. You had no idea why the skeleton would be wanting to kill someone the old fashioned way, but you felt it in your soul to protect the pair from this homicidal skeleton dressed in pink.
The skeleton and you both tumbled down onto the ground, the pink clad skeleton letting out a surprised huff when you landed on them.
"Hey! What's the big idea-!" Their pink eyes met yours, the pink hue just as sweet and light as bubblegum. With cute tiny heart shaped pupils floating in their empty sockets.
Their mouth moved in an almost cartoon-ish way, not how you'd expect a skeletons mouth to move. They even had two cute little fangs and a matching pink tongue.
There seemed to be a perfect black heart on their right cheek, while the left had a lipstick print on it. It wasn't smudged, something told you that it was permanent.
This potion was.. Awkward to say the least. You were practically straddling them, your arms on either side of their head. You noticed the bow was gone as well as the arrows.
Being this close to them, you could smell the sweet scent of Strawberry's, frosting, and.. Vanilla? Whatever it was it was so sweet.
One word could describe this skeleton. Cute. Almost cute enough to make you almost forget that you had stopped them from shooting an innocent person with an arrow.
"Hey! What was that for!" The skeleton asks, pink eyes meeting yours for a moment. "You made me miss my shot!"
"You could have killed someone! Who practices archery in the middle of a high trafficked path in the park!?" You argue.
The small skeleton sighs before their eyes widen. "Wait.. You can see me.?"
You scoff. "Uh.. Yeah? Why else do you think I tackled you!"
"...oh wow.. I had no idea mortals could see me.."
"What the hell are you talking about?" You lift a brow, maybe they really were just as crazy as you thought.
"Can you um.. Please get off of me? So I can properly introduce myself?" They ask, cheeks flushing a neon pink. You had no idea skeletons could blush.
"You're not going to shoot me with an arrow are you?" You ask, narrowing your eyes a little.
They hold their gloved hands up in surrender, well, as best as they could while still under you. "No!"
"Fine.." You carefully remove yourself from them, standing next to the shrubbery with your arms crossed.
The skeleton quickly stands up, dusting off their jean shorts. Before nervously tucking their arms behind their back.
"The reason why I was in the park today was to match that couple on the bench! You see, the boy had been hiding his feelings for her, and I've been requested to give him a little push! My arrows help with confidence! Binding the two of them together!" They explain with a small smile.
"...You're going to have to do better than that, just because Valentines day is in a few fays doesn't mean you can kill people dressed as Cupid."
The skeleton sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You sound like my brother.. Look, I have no idea how you even see me in the first place, but.."
Suddenly a pair of white feathery wings spread out behind them. The feathers soft looking and white like fallen snow, if you squinted you could see the tips fade to a soft pink.
A golden halo appeared above their head, shining brightly in a golden yellow.
They smile and hold their hand out. "Let me start over, I'm Cupid! The Cupid.. And I'm not a murderer!"
You gave him a look over once again, piecing it all together and.. Now that you think of it he wasn't aiming at the mans head. And the arrows were heart tipped with golden rods.
"But.. Isn't Cupid a baby?"
He huffs, puffing out his cheeks. "No! I don't even know where they got that idea from.. I'm one hundred and sixteen!"
"If you're really Cupid.. Then why haven't you set me up with anyone yet.?" You ask him, skeptical.
If it really was him, then he'd have an answer. If not, then he was a sham. A fake. And probably needed sent to jail for attempted murder with a bow and arrow.
"Y/n L/n right? You've been single most of your life, always been seeking a significant other. However, you're fine with being on your own. But you're touch starved? Sound familiar?" He asks, resting a hand on his hip in a sassy way. His free hand holding a small red leather book.
"How did-"
"I have everyone's profile in my little book here! And have you ever heard that the best things in life come to you at the worst time? Think about that." He says with a wink.
Cupid returns his book back to his little brown satchel. "But.. That doesn't explain why you can see me.. You must be much more in tune with your soul, unlike most humans!"
You were in disbelief. You had actually found Cupid, the angel of love and mischief. The ultimate match maker. Not just some guy in a costume.
And.. You prevented him from doing his job. "Oh god, you're not going to get fired are you?"
He snorts, its cute. "No silly! I'm my own boss. Its okay if a client gets away sometimes, after all I always get back to them eventually."
His wings flutter. "So don't worry about it sweet tart! Neither of us are in any trouble!"
"But you didn't answer my question.." You point out, feeling a little.. Sad that he dodged the question.
Cupid giggles. "Sorry! I can trail on and on if I'm not too careful! But, good things come to those who wait Y/n. You can't rush perfection!"
You sigh. You don't think he's going to give you a proper answer..
"But- If you ever need someone to talk to, here's my card!" He pulls a small card out from his scarf. "Or you can visit the Sweethearts bakery, I own it!"
You've heard of that bakery before. It was very popular with the locals, having more five star reviews than you've ever seen. You've been meaning to stop by there, but you hadn't had the time.
If Cupid was the chef, than each pastry must be made with love.
"Now, you might see my brothers in there too if you decide to stop by! I hope to see you there, human!" He sends you a quick peace sign before proofing into a cloud of pink smoke and heart shaped glitter.
...what was in that coffee you drank this morning?
You looked down at the card the quirky skeleton had given you.
Cupid Valentine. professional matchmaker, love doctor, wedding planner and baker.
True love is an arrow away.
Below is a phone number, and the card is covered in sparkly heart stickers. Along with his signature.
You feel a small smile rise.
Maybe you'll pay him a visit.
End..! I hope you enjoyed! I actually like first meeting chapters more than I should.
I have no idea why.
See you in the next update~!
-Xoxo Artsy.
