You stood outside the small building, a gold fence surrounded it, it looked like something out of a fairytail.
Each shrub had sweet smelling roses, all in different shades of pinks and reds. You even saw white roses as well. How many butterflies were there here?
You looked down at the business card in your hand. Your best friend, Chloe thought you'd been single for far too long. Even though you disagreed with her, you knew she wouldn't let up.
Doing anything she could to help you go out and about and meet more people. Even if you didn't want to. You didn't really care about romance, thinking you were fine without it.
Although, you were envious of the couples you've seen from time to time when running errands.
Chloe had her own loving boyfriend, and even if she could be pushy about it, she wanted to help you find your 'ideal person' as she puts it. Apparently, she found her boyfriend from this love agency.
So, she gave you their business card. All four of them, each one was different.
One was pink with a red heart symbol, an golden arrow piercing the heart. Whoever made it had very pretty hand writing, 'Cupid, professional matchmaker, wedding planner, and pastry baker.' Was written on it in pretty swirly cursive.
The second one was a sleek red, with a broken heart symbol. Their handwriting was messy, their S's looked like g's. 'Eros, professional heart breaker, cheating investigator, tired of bullshit from your s/o? Call here.'
The third one was a deep sparkly purple, with glittery pink heart stickers along the edges. It smelled sweet too, oddly enough. Their handwriting was large a swirly. 'Romeo, professional passion advisor, fertile troubles? Or just need to spice things up? Call me bitch.~'
That one made you snort, you taken out the forth one, and it made you feel.. Oddly creeped out.
The last card was white, with a bleeding heart symbol. A sharp blade stabbed into it. Their handwriting was neat, yet it leaned to the right. 'Amour, professional angel of blood, weapons expert, scorned? Call today!'
You'd rather not. That last one sounded like an assassin of some sort.
You take in a deep breath, before you walked up to the door and twisted the handle. Once inside, you found yourself in a waiting room. All decked out in pink, wooden floors with light pink walls. Heart lights hung from the ceiling, adds for some bakery?
Roses in every vase, along with a few cacti with pink buds on them. A red sectional couch sat in the corner with a glass heart shaped coffee table in front of it. A stack of fashion magazines sat upon the table.
It smelled sweet in here. Besides the roses you could sense a faint scent of vanilla or strawberry.
In front of you was a desk, a short male sat at the desk. His hair was a bright red, some of it was in his face. He looked bored out of his mind, now that you got closer you saw that he had horns!
The red head looked at you with a poker face. A lifted brow with a frown. "The fuck do you want?"
His gruff voice caught you off guard, as well as his choice of language.
"Oh, I'm sorry did I disturb you?" You ask, taking a step back. Feeling a gust of heat radiating off of him.
His arrow tipped tail swishes behind him, he throws his heeled boots on top of the desk, with his arms behind his back. "If you're here for some stupid love advice, I'm the wrong devil for you. Go down the dumbass hall, look for am idiot with pink hair."
"Thank you?" You say in confusion. At least he didn't yell at you to leave or throw anything at you.
"To your right." He says, narrowing his eyes. "Don't go in the white door, I don't even know why Cupid made that crazy bitch a card.." He grumbles under his breath.
You nod your head, tucking your hands in your jeans pockets. Awkwardly walking down the hall he pointed to. You wondered what crawled up his ass and died. The red card must have belonged to him you guess.
That grumpy guy at the desk was good looking. For an asshole.
You pass by the white door, and you swore you could hear something like a blade being sharpened. And you quickened your pace, speed walking passed it.
There was a pink door to your right, but it had an 'Out to lunch' sign on it. You sigh, the horned boy could have at least told you the matchmaker himself wasn't here.
You decide that maybe this was a mistake. But if you left empty handed, Chloe would scold you, in a friendly way of course. That, or she'd try and put you on another blind date again. You shiver at the thought.
You're snapped out of your thoughts when the hot pink door opens. A curvy male steps out of the small office with his hands on his hips. "Okay, who the fuck ate all of my donut holes? Lockheart I'm going to kick your ass you red bitch!"
Your eyes were instantly on his legs. Never in your life had you seen anyone, lesser known a guy with such thick and strong legs. His thighs were so wide, not to mention his rear stuck out. A heart tipped tail swished, back and forth.
He wore knee high leather boots, with neon pink high heels. They had to be at least five inches high making him much taller than he already was. His skirt was short, just barely covering anything, it was sparkly with a hot pink studded belt.
He was tone, a solid chest that seemed puffed out in his annoyance. His coat was a deep purple with a pink furred trimmed hood. And a see through, fishnet top.
And much like the guy from before, he had horns. Much bigger ones you noticed, with silver rings around them. Purple locks, messy, like he had woken up from a nap. But he pulled it off. He was very good looking.
"Oh, sorry honey I didn't see you there, need something?" He turns to you, resting one hand on his stuck out hip.
His eyes, they were a hot shade of magenta, he had long natural lashes with sparkly purple eye shadow. He had his plump kissable lips pulled into a smile, hiding his previous angry fit.
Your cheeks flush, realizing he just asked you something and you didn't even hear it. "Um.." You feel bad for staring, so you quickly look down at the floor.
His laugh is like something from heaven itself. "Oh sweetie, its okay! I don't mind the staring! I'm used to it!"
Clearly. You think, how could he not get stares!?
"I didn't mean to stare.. Um.. I'm here for Cupid? A friend of mine.. Uh.. He helped her out? She thinks I needed a professional to help me too?"
He hums. "Sorry baby, but Cupid isn't here right now, he had to step out for a love emergency. Had his arrows and everything! But don't worry hon, I'm sure I can help!"
You sigh, looking at your feet. "Oh.. But aren't you the passion expert? I.. I don't really need that.."
"Yes, but I know a little thing or two about romance! Me and Cupid are brothers after all! You don't want Lock's advice.. He's got a stick up his ass. And my baby brother well... Trust me angel, you don't want his help." The incubus nervously smiles.
He quickly grabs your hand. "Come with me darling, I'm sure I can do you a favor or two!" He smiles, and drags you down the hall, strutting with each step he took ahead of you.
The two of you passed the desk once again, The red head looking at you and him in confusion.
Romeo paid him no mind, simply taking you out the sliding glass doors into the courtyard.
It was a small garden, the same gold fence keeping people out of it. There was a fountain, with rose petals thrown into it. There were many bird feeders with lots of yellow finches flying around them.
There were large shrubs that had been trimmed down to look like various animals. Mostly cats you noticed. It was pretty relaxing here. You noticed harp music playing from somewhere not so far.
He sat the two of you on the edge of the fountain. "Tell me your troubles babe, spill the tea."
"Uh.." You weren't sure where to start. "I don't know, I've been pretty happy single, no ones ever asked me out before. I.. I feel jealous of the couples I see? I don't know its stupid.."
His manicured nails lift your chin to make eye contact with you. "Oh babydoll, its not stupid at all. You crave romance, but you don't actively search for it. That's alright sugar, everyone moves at their own pace!"
He leans in, and lowers his voice. "I hate to tell you, but most of those loving couples you see out there are married to other people." He winks.
You lift a brow. "Really?"
Romeo nods his head, backing away once again. "Yeah, you don't see real couples doing that. They'll hold hands sure, but nothing else. Anyone else you see are in lust, not love. A relationship shouldn't be all about the bedroom."
You nod your head. Thinking over his words.
"Besides, can't they just go do that gross shit somewhere else? Out of the public eye?" Romeo chuckles. When you look at him in shock, he only laughs more.
"Yes sweetface, I may be an incubus but even I don't want anything to do with that shit." He wraps his arm around you. "You know, I think you came here for romance but I think you found a new bestie instead doll."
You laugh with a smile. "Yeah, I think I did." You lean against him, enjoying his sugary scent. Not minding if any of his body glitter got on you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next time you had seen Chloe, you had your new sassy incubus at your side. Her jaw dropped once she saw him, making her boyfriend look at her in concern.
Romeo was the best friend you've always wanted. One that didn't just call you when he needed something. He'd stop by out of the blue with take out, and clothes from his closet he claimed that didn't fit him anymore.
You didn't wear the more.. Revealing things he brought, you just wore the jackets and sweaters he had most of the time.
Or you'd wear a tank top or a T-shirt under the crop tops he brought you. The two of you would just spend time together at home, sitting and watching stupid videos on YouTube.
Currently, Romeo sat at the edge of your bed with your hands in his, his left hand applying the polish of your favorite color along your nails.
With how close you two were, Chloe thought you two had been dating. Even if you told her multiple times that you two weren't. She'd tease you about your hidden feelings for him.
"Seriously, I had to fight a bitch for this fucking color! It was the last one! And I wasn't going down without a fight!" Romeo says, with a sassy tone. "I broke a nail for it, but its worth it to see my doll smile."
"Who gets in a fight over nail polish?" You ask with a snort.
"I do! And I've already been to jail for a black Friday deal on a pair of boots. Bashed her face in, but, I got these bad boys!" Romeo kicks his left leg up with a smirk.
"And how many times has Amour been arrested?" You ask.
"Not once. And he's gotten away with a lot babe. Trust me, its scary what he can get away with." He says, putting on the clear coat over your nails.
"That's not terrifying at all." You say with a laugh. "Thanks for doing my nails Romeo."
"Of course honey, what are friends for? I don't mind doing favors for my favorite person!" He smiles, pecking your knuckles before leaving to grab the glitter.
You know, your friend Chloe may be a bit much. But without her, you wouldn't have met your fabulous bestie.
End..! I'm bad at titles. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! And I'll see you in the next update!
