Light Yagami was helping the task force with the investigation, as per usual, and he was typing away on the computer out of pure boredom.

L looked over at Light and ate another bite of cake. He lifted up his hand that was chained to Light's and was lost in thought.

Light felt a tug on his arm and looked over to see L. Light kept a neutral face. Light had to say that there was something about the socially awkward, slightly older man that Light couldn't stand. But something about it, he loved too. He felt a small blush creep onto his face.

L noticed that Light's cheeks took on a pink look and he rolled his chair over to Light. "Light, are you ok?" L said in his usual monotone voice. He looked at Light and kept his hands on his knees. L may have suspected Light of being Kira, but he knew that if Light wasn't Kira, after all this was over, L would like to ask Light out.

Light looked at L's black orbs that held no emotion and felt himself fall deeper in love and loathing with him. "I'm fine Ryuzaki..." Light said through gritted teeth and he held his head in his hands and reviewed what he'd been typing in order to appear normal. He knew that Misa would be mad, but he couldn't help what he felt. Light would kill L without a second thought, but if he somehow got away with being Kira, Light would like to go out with L. Even if it's just for one simple date.

L hesitantly put his hand on Light's arm. "Light, my deductive skills have helped me solve any case thrown my way. This may not be a case, but I can still use my deductive skills to know by your body language and the tone of voice you're using that something is wrong." L said matter-of-factly. He looked into Light's auburn eyes and felt something stir in his chest.

Light looked at L. "It's complicated Ryuzaki... I don't think you'd understand..." Light said in his usual overdramatic way. He looked at L seriously and had the desire to punch him and kiss him at the same time. 'I must be going crazy...' Light thought quietly to himself.

L opened a box of chocolates and offered some to Light. "Chocolate releases dopamine." L said flatly. He ate a couple of peices of chocolate while looking intently at Light.

Light hesitantly reached towards the box, hoping his dad wouldn't get mad that he was eating sugar. Light quickly ate a small peice of chocalate and felt better. He smiled a little and looked at L. He ate another peice. And then another. And another. And another. Light felt himself feel happier than ever and he looked over to L. Then he did something unexpected. He leaned over and kissed L.

L froze. He wasn't used to human contact, and especially not kissing. He just sat there unsure what to do for a little bit, but he eventually tried kissing back and wrapping his arms around Light's neck.

Light felt detached from his body and he enjoyed the feeling of sugar pulsing through his veins and L's lips on his. He leaned further into L and broke for air, the scent of chocolate on both of their breaths.

L felt weird and closed his eyes while his face turned into a tomato. "L-Light..." He said in a quiet voice while leaning back in his chair.

Light looked at L and brushed his messy black hair out of his face. He felt himself begin to come down from the sugar high and sat back in his chair. "Ryuzaki, I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me." Light said while casually turning back to his computer, his face a bright red tomato as well.

L put his hand on Light's shoulder. "I liked it, Light. I just don't think the rest of the task force will." L said. He sat normally and rubbed his feet together while biting his thumb. "We must pretend as though this has never happened." L said finally.

Light nodded his head in agreement before looking at L. This time, he kissed L forcefully and quickly completely concsious of what he was doing. "I love you Ryuzaki..." Light said quietly while turning back to the computer and continuing his work.

L pushed his desk chair back to his little section and looked at the chain that connected them to each other. "I love you too Light..." L said quietly. He resumed his work and the both of them spent the rest of their lives acting like their kiss never happened.
