THE SECOND WORLD WAR HAD engulfed Ginny's life as she worked alongside the wounded and sick. Ginny had always had a healer's hands, and she was more than willing to volunteer for the war effort and work within the War Registration, where she would watch as hundreds of men would either be drafted or enlist for the war effort. It was her job to ensure that the soldiers were in the best shape for the war effort, and she knew her boyfriend — Steve Rogers — would be one of the men who would stop at nothing to join the war effort.

Her and Bucky had tried their very best to keep Steve away from the registration buildings, but he was relentless. It didn't matter what her and Bucky had said to him, Steve wished to serve his country and help those that he could. It was no surprise to Ginny when she had seen Steve walk into the War Registration building for the war. Though, it was a bigger surprise for her when a scientist by the name of Abraham Friskine had seen great things in Steve Rogers, and that he had helped turn her boyfriend into the world's first super-soldier.

Just as her boyfriend and friend had been shipped off, it wasn't too soon before Ginny was shipped off to her own base to help care for the wounded soldiers, no matter their ailment. She pushed herself to exhaustion as she made sure that they were all safe and would recover quickly — even if that meant she would have long hours and endless nights of no sleep. But the one thing that kept her sane throughout the war at her camp, was the letters that she would receive from Steve, as well as a few from Bucky. Though, as the days went on, the letters began to slowly stop.

During a break in the effort, Ginny had gotten a letter — the letter that she never wanted to ever receive. Steven Grant Rogers and James Buchanan Barnes were presumed dead.

For years, Ginny would mourn for them, but her work didn't lessen. She would continue to push herself with her work and would do whatever it was that she could to help those around her. But one night, as Ginny was on her way home from work, she was in an accident. She was ran off the road and she crashed into a tree — but she wouldn't know that an extraordinary event would occur.

One that would leave her ageless.

as you may have guessed from the summary, the plot was inspired by the movie the age of adaline so be prepared for some references here and there, maybe even some dialogue from the movie from time to time since i'll be including numerous scenes that are important for ginny and her character arc after the war. and yes, the celestial event that caused adaline to stop aging in the movie will still happen in this fic, only it'll be slightly different. me and catie wracked our brains and built some lore around that celestial event that a certain god of thunder may or may not know about and be able to give them a proper explanation 👀
