(Amber's POV)
"Coming!" Mom yells and gets up to open the door. Caramel jumps up from my side and runs to the door and barks at who I'm presuming is my half brother. Mom pushes Caramel back and I call for her. She reluctantly walks over to me and sits next to me.
      "Oh, it's you." He says as he walks in the kitchen. I awkwardly wave at him. Caramel growls but I tell her to go greet him. He hesitantly pets her, she seems cool with it. She sits down next to me again.
      "We'll introduce yourselves to each other." Mom encourages.
      "I'm Nick." He says leaning on the doorframe.
      "I'm Amber and the dog is Caramel." I say. I sit and he stands there awkwardly for a solid minute till mom intervenes.
      "So what brings you to Beach City Nick?" She asks.
      "Just wanted to check up on you and see what's changed in town. Not much seems to have changed besides the new house on the beach." He says.
      "That's where my friend Steven lives." I tell him.
      "Cool." He says unenthusiastically. He pulls out his phone and looks at it.
      "Just got a text from SourCream saying that the gang will be throwing a rave party tonight so I should go help with that, see you later mom." He says and walks out.
      "Well that was..."
      "Interesting" I cut mom off. "Has he always been like that?" I ask mom.
      "Pretty much, he was never the most talkative kid, he either doesn't care, which I'll have to talk to him about, or is shy." She tells me.
      "I wonder if Steven is around." I say and grab my phone.
Amber: hey Steven you around?
Steven: yeah just hanging out why?
Amber: mind if I come over?
Steven: sounds great! You'll get to meet everyone, actually I don't know if that's a good idea.
Amber: why?
Steven: well... about that..
(Steven's POV)
Steven: well... about that..
"Come on Steven I want to meet her" Amethyst says over my shoulder.
"Agh how long were you there?!" I yell and drop my phone.
"Long enough to see you're talking to your lady friend and she seems cool." She says sitting down next to me.
"What will she think of you guys? She'll think I'm weird and never want to hang out with me again." I say to her.
"Dude she hung out with you before, what are you afraid we'll scare he off or something?" Amethyst asks me.
"Everything will be okay Steven." Garnet says to me.
"But I lied to her about you guys.. she'll never trust me again." I say and put my head in my hands.
"Just explain the whole story to her, I'm sure she'll understand or understand in due time, if she really cares about you she'll understand and stay." Pearl says to me.
"You're right Pearl, I'll text her back." I say and grab my phone.
Amber: Steven is something wrong? Why is it taking you so long to respond.
Steven: sorry about that I had to do something real quick, but I'm back now and you should come over.
Amber: okay sounds great, I'm still confused but whatever, see you soon!
Steven: see you then!
"She'll be over soon guys, you've got my back right? In case anything goes wrong." I ask them.
"Of course Steven." Garner replies.
(Amber's POV)
I'm still confused why he originally declined, but I'm still excited to see my friend again! I'll even get to meet his shady new guardians. Maybe that was, as I recall he seemed nervous about it when I asked the first time. I shouldn't be push.
Amber: Quick question can I bring Caramel?
Steven: go ahead, I'd love to see her again.
Amber: awesome see you soon.
"Come on Caramel, let's go see Steven!" I call to her as I head out the door. She quickly jumps up and to my side.
"Mom I'm going to Steven's!" I yell to her as I walk out of the house. I close the door behind us and run to the beach.
After about five minutes of running we finally got to the beach. You couldn't even see the house from the beach. After another few minutes of running I finally get to the hill where his house is.
"Woah what is this?" I say looking up at the huge stone carving in the rock face. Where her hands were is where his house was. I'll have to ask him what that is.
I start walking toward the house and saw some figures more in the windows. There was one huge figure in there, like twice my size. I take a deep breath and pet Caramel's head then knock on the door.
"I got it!" I hear Steven yell from inside and the door suddenly swing open and there is Steven.
"Steven!" I yell happily and Caramel lets out a happy bark when she sees him.
"Amber and Caramel!" He yells and gives me a hug then gives Caramel a hug. She licks his face.
"Come on in guys I have people I want you to meet." Steven says and swings open the door more too let us inside.
"Steven.. what's that strange, fuzzy, slobbery thing?" A pale, tall, thin woman asks him. She had this weird thing on her forehead, it was white and reflected light.
"You've never seen a dog before Pearl?" He asks her.
"Aw cool a dog! I've never seen one in real life before!" A shorter purple girl yells and runs over to Caramel. She growled at her.
"When coming up to a dog you've never met before always stick out your hand to their nose to see if they are hostile before petting them." Steven informs her. She sticks a hand out to Caramel, she growls at first but is fine with her after a second. There is a very tall women standing in the back with some type of sunglasses on, she kinda scares me.
       "Who are these people Steven?" I ask him. He goes as white as a sheet and looks back at the giant women in the back. He nods at him and he looks back at me and pulls at the neck of his shirt.
       "Well ya see uhh... they're my guardians remember? They're um.. Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst." He spits out and motions to all of the women in the room.
       "What's up." Amethyst says and holds up a peace sign all chill like. Garnet motions to Steven again.
       "Man it is hot in here isn't it?" Steven says sweating.
       "I don't think it is." Pearl says to him.
       "Would you like to sit down Amber, there's something I need to talk to you about."

Hey sorry to be so inactive on like all my stories, I've been studying like nonstop for all of last week because finals. So yeah I haven't had much time to do anything, let alone write.
