Chapter 2

"Stupid piece of shit" Gajeel muttered under his breath. The said man was washing some blood off his hands, he had just gotten out of a fight. Looking into the mirror he sighed, there was bruises and cuts surrounding his face but it was nothing fatal. Quickly drying off his hands he exited the school.

Walking down the street and around the corner he finally made it to the local bar. Stepping in he was greeted by many shouts and occasionally whistles from the few female customers. Stepping behind the cocktail lounge he greeted his peers

"What happened this time?" A tall black haired man spoke, he had pale skin and dark red eyes. "Nothing much, just teaching a kid how to lose a fight properly." Gajeel turned to take an order while the man just stood there. "My god Rogue, are you gonna stand there all day?" Rogue laughed and turned to serve some customers.

Rogue and Gajeel had been friends since middle school. Gajeel had taught Rogue how to fight when he was getting bullied, and Rogue taught Gajeel how to get good grades when he failed his classes. Nonetheless they were like brothers, and they intentended to keep their relationship that way.

After Gajeel's shift at the bar, he and Rogue decided it was best to go eat dinner. They stopped at a local convenience store and bought some noodles. Rogue got the classic, Blqck Bean Noodle, while Gajeel got the simple beef flavored noodles that tasted like quarters.

After their VERY healthy dinner, Gajeel had to walk home. He decided to walk him fast because god knew what was going down at his house. His parents were practically useless and he only stuck around because if he left, his parents would be on the streets.

So he stayed and payed the bills, and did the taxes. He was living on his own with no help whatsoever from his parents, he was basically the parent in that house. And if he had children that ended up like his parents, he would disown them without a second though about it.

Him and his parents weren't friends with each other, and everyone could see that. As a child he was neglected and uncared for, and the only place he could be himself was with Rogue.

Rogue had offered him a place to stay millions of times, but Gajeel never accepted because his parents would find out that their bills weren't getting paid and and let he'll loose on Gajeel. Gajeel could never mix his "family" with his friends. His friend were his only real family, and he would have to die before he let his parents even near his friends.

"Where've you been Boy?!" A slurred voice interrupted his thoughts, looking up he see's his father with a can of beer in his hand and a cigarette in his mouth. Gajeel sighed before pushing his father back in to the old house. "I was working. Who else is gonna pay the bills around here?" Gajeel walked down the hall of his house, picking up every bottle of beer in the house. "I can always borrow some money from my friends down at the club! Their little amount of clothes can't hold too much anyways."

Gajeel sighed before stepping into his fathers room. Bottles of beer, and lacy lingerie later sprawled on the ground. He stopped into his mothers room before immediately regretting it. His mother had hoe tendencies, so she got men left and right. His father was no different, he'd go to the club, bring back a young girl and kick her out the next morning.

His parents would fight day and night, "why's you bring this girl?!" And "how did this man get here?!". They did the same thing over and over, in the end they'd both end up with different people in their beds. Leaving Gajeel to have to deal with the mess after his shifts at work the next day.
