Autobots

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

Fighting off those two Decepticons had left me particularly drained, and although I only used my two hands to defeat them they were insanely huge. The moment I climbed back into Optimus's cabin I was fast asleep. I was surprised he didn't decide to take a short break after the brawl, but I guess that he was intent on getting us to Washington DC before anything else could happen. I didn't exactly blame him though. An altercation with the Decepticons would probably be a lot less stressful if there were more than one Autobot to help defeat them.

Currently I was fast asleep in the cabin of Optimus's alternate form. Normally I wouldn't think sleeping in the cabin of a semi truck was comfortable, but everything about Optimus was comforting, and he did everything to make sure I was as comfortable as could be. The nicest part about it was that normal semi engines were real throaty and loud, but Optimus's was very soft and gentle, almost like a hum. Either way it was very easy to fall asleep, and it was very easy to stay asleep.

After what felt like a few more hours of much needed sleep I felt myself being shaken awake. My eyes fluttered open and I met the bright blue eyes of Optimus Prime's holoform. I hummed in response and buried my head back down into the seat. This was honestly the best sleep I've gotten in so long, and I did not want to be woken from it.

"Brenna," Optimus's voice sounded. "You need to wake up."

I groaned. "I'm tired."

A chuckle escaped his lips and before I knew it I was being pulled up. I knew then that I had been defeated, so I decided just to accept it.

"Why are you waking me up?" I murmured.

"Because we're finally in Washington. I would much rather you be conscious when you meet the Autobots," he answered.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion before looking out of his windshield. We were parked outside an incredibly large building. I knew it was one of the many military bases N.E.S.T had here in the United States. I recognized it from some of the pictures my dad has shown me of him and his army friends.

After removing the thoughts of my dad from my mind I began to process Optimus's previous words. I was about to meet the Autobots, and I was a bit nervous because of it. This could go so many different ways. I could meet them and they could all like me, I could meet them and they could all hate me, or I could meet them and half of them could like me while the other half hated me. I just knew that none of them would hurt me though. Optimus has already told me that I would be safe with him, and I trusted him more than anyone at the moment. Also, I highly doubted any of the Autobots would try to hurt me in the first place; one, because I knew they were the good aliens that helped humans instead of hurting them, and two, if I were them I wouldn't want to get on Optimus's bad side. I had yet to witness Optimus mad, and I really wouldn't want to. He was a very noble and caring bot, yet I felt as if he could also be very dangerous when angered. I was not going to venture down that road.

"Are they in there?" I asked Optimus as I pointed to the big building in front of me.

He nodded before hopping out of his cabin. I pursed my lips and turned to reach for the door latch, but before I could the door swung open. Sometimes I forget he exists in both forms at once.

"Thanks," I mumbled before hopping onto the concrete.

The door shut itself behind me and I began to scan the area for Optimus's holoform. I found him after about a split second. He was leaning against the front of his alternate form, watching me with a careful expression on his face.

"What?" I questioned as I slowly walked toward him. He just shook his head at me and gestured me forward.

I followed Optimus into the building. Throughout the journey to wherever we were headed we passed several guards, all of whom greeted the two of us by name. I was confused as to how they knew who I was at first, but then I realized that my dad worked here and that Optimus made sure everyone knew we were coming. Aside from that, this building was absolutely huge, and I assumed it was because of the enormous alien creatures residing here and the vast amount of employees running around this place. I mean, it took us about five minutes just to get to the Autobot hangar as Optimus informed me it was called.

My body filled with awe as the two of us stepped into, I assume, the largest room in the entire building. The Autobot hangar was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. It was absolutely incredible, and definitely not a room you would picture a group of mechanical beings living in.

I was so focused on the hangar that I wasn't even paying attention to the loud car engine buzzing towards me. Without another thought I turned my head towards the source of the noise. I was only able to catch a small glimpse of a small green and black car before I was pulled tightly to someone's body. The fear in my body was replaced by an abundant amount of comfort and safety, and I didn't even need to look up to know that it had been Optimus who had pulled me out of harm's way.

"Have Skids report to Hangar One immediately," I heard Optimus mumble before he released me. I had no clue who he was talking to, and I thought better than to ask him. It was none of my business anyway.

"Thank you, Optimus," I said to him as I stepped away.

He just gave me a small smile and continued walking, gesturing me forward once again. I followed him once more and soon enough we came to an area where several beautiful vehicles sat. I could literally feel the life radiating off of the vehicles, and I knew then that these were the Autobots. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at them.

"Can they transform, please?" I asked Optimus. There was more than enough room for them to transform.

He looked at me and scratched the back of his head. "I'd much rather they not." He probably thought they were going to scare me, but they wouldn't.

I gave him the puppy dog face that I used to use on my dad all the time when I wanted something. It worked all the time, but then again my dad was a bit more of a softy than Optimus was. Just the look on Optimus's face proved that to me. He was looking at me with a very stern look that was telling me I wasn't going to get my way any time soon. He shook his head before commanding the Autobots to make an appearance. I had almost forgotten that they all had holoforms.

It didn't take me very long to meet all of the Autobots in all of their holoform glory. I was still a bit upset Optimus hadn't allowed them to transform, but after realizing that so many employees were walking around I knew why.

All in all, the Autobots were very, very nice to me; well most of them were. My favorite Autobot had to be Bumblebee though. He was just so cute and sweet, and also one of the coolest Autobots you could meet. There was only one Autobot that I wasn't very particularly fond of, and that had to be Mudflap. He was kind of rude and he acted out too much. Most of the Autobots were annoyed by him, especially Optimus. I could only assume that he acted up often. There was one Autobot I had yet to meet though, and that was the green one that nearly took my life on the way in here. Come to think about it, I kind of didn't want to meet him. I just hoped Optimus would chew him out for nearly killing me.

After we were all introduced to each other, Optimus took off to deal with the green Autobot and the rest of the Autobots besides Bumblebee. It was kind of weird though, and almost immediately I grew weary. For the past two days I've been with Optimus, and I've grown to trust only Optimus. This is the first time I've been apart from him for two days, and I honestly didn't like the way that made me feel inside. I mean, I knew the Autobots could protect me if something were to go wrong, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that Optimus could do it so much better. I felt safest with him, and even now, standing beside Bumblebee, I just didn't feel as safe as I should. It bothered me to say the least.

"So, there's now a face to the name Aaron used to mention so much," Bumblebee started as the two of us began walking through the hangar. I have come to learn that his holoform could speak, but his alternate form could not. I didn't quite understand how it worked out that way, but it was pretty convenient at the moment.

"Yep. I am that face," I chuckled.

"I really am sorry about what happened to your family, Brenna. We all are, especially Optimus. He was really tore up about it when he returned back to base," he told me.

I frowned as the memory of my beautiful family flooded back into my mind. "It isn't your fault. It's none of your faults. This is all on the Decepticons."

"We know, and we're gonna do whatever it takes to get rid of them. You don't have anything to worry about. You're safe here with us, especially with Optimus," Bee assured me.

I smiled. "Yeah. He's already made it very clear that nothing was going to happen to me as long as he has something to do about it."

Bumblebee was about to respond when another voice sounded. The two of us looked up to find the source of the voice. In front of us were two older men. The one on the right looked to be in his early to mid-thirties; he had light brown hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin. The man on the left looked to be just a bit older than his partner; he didn't have much hair, and his skin was dark colored. Both of them were dressed in army wear. The two of them were obviously employees.

"Colonel Lennox, Epps," Bumblebee greeted the two of them.

"Hey, Bee," the light haired man responded before turning to me. His smile widened and he stuck his hand out for me to shake. "You're Brenna. It's so nice to finally meet you! Your dad talked about you all the time. I'm Will Lennox."

"And you already know who I am," I chuckled as I let go of his hand.

"I'm Robert Epps, but you can just call me Epps," the darker man introduced himself. I smiled and introduced myself to him. After that it just grew kind of quiet. I was just glad that they didn't bring up my family anymore. I couldn't handle the pain that came just from a single mention of them.

"Where's Optimus?" Will asked Bee after a few seconds.

He shrugged. "Probably dealing with Skids. He nearly ran Brenna over earlier, and Optimus was kinda peeved about it."

"Ah, well when he gets through tell him to meet us in the conference room," Lennox told him before walking away with Epps.

Bee turned to me with a smirk on his face. "Are you ready to see where you're going to be living while we're here?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. In all honesty I wasn't aware that we were staying here that long.

"I guess?"

Bumblebee just chuckled before grabbing my wrist and pulling me through the enormous hangar. I swear, if the Decepticons didn't kill me first, Bumblebee was definitely going to. I had only just met the bot, but I already knew he was going to be the death of me.
