Your POV

"Hey, (Your name). You see that box over there?" I look over to a present looking box my friend was talking about. It was a nice purple color and was wrapped with a black and white bow on top.

"Yeah. I see it. What about it?"

"Isn't strange someone would leave a present outside like that?"

"I guess"

"You guys better leave it alone" my worry wart of a friend tells us. "It might be a bomb or something"

"Dressed up like that? I doubt" I reply messing his hair.

"(Name) let's just leave it alone. We have to head to the bowling alley before it closes"

"You guys go ahead. I want to check it out"

"Just be careful okay?" I wave worry wart off as they walk away. The present looked really interesting, I couldn't resist. Even if it might be dangerous. Heh, at least my grave will say 'Died opening a present' or something like that. I carefully walk to the present, easy and slow steps. So far so good. I was about a few inches from the box so I go down onto my kneels.

H-Hello?" I ask the box. Yeah I did ask the box if anyone was home.

*Clak*

Huh? Did the box open?

"Hey, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you or anything." The box opens a little. A pair of white pupils stare back at me. "Hi" I say with my best smile.

"Eep!" a girlish sounding voice cried out. It could be a boy though. The box closes quickly.

"Shy I see. It's alright, come out." The box's lid opens a bit more.

"W-who are..you?"

"I'm (Name). You are?"

"M-my name?" I nod. "I-i'm..Puppette"

"Puppet?" I ask.

"Puppette" she corrects me.

"Aw, that's such a cute name." I could see Puppette blushing brightly. "Can I ask..why are you hiding in a box"

"O-oh that? It's cause I'm...really, really..shy"

"Shy?" Puppette nods. "You don't look shy, you look..kinda cute"

"Eep." Puppette closes the cover quickly.

"I-i'm sorry. Did I saw something wrong?" No response. " Should I leave you alone?"

"No!" Puppette shouts from inside the box. I jump. "S-sorry. I've been so lonely, i-i didn't want to you to leave me"

"It's okay" I tell Puppette. I pat the top of her box in comfort. "How about I come back tomorrow? We can talk more then." Puppette opens her lid a little.

"Promise?"

"Pinkie promise" I say putting my pinky out. Puppette looks at me in confusion. "You don't know what a pinkie promise is?"

"No..I-i don't." Puppette's head tilts down in disappointment.

"Hey, nothing to get down about. Put out your hand out for me." Puppette was hesitant. "I'm not going to hurt you." Puppette sighs and slowly slips her hand out. Puppette's skin was really pale. A purple sleeve went from the wrist up the arm. "Good. Now lock your pinky with mine"

"H-how do I do that?"

"Like this." I wrap my pinky around Puppette's. It felt cold, really cold against my pinky.

"T-that's a pinky promise?"

"Yep"

"But why the..pinky?"

"I think it means if I break the promise, I'll have to cut my pinky off"

"Eep! No!" Puppette releases her pinky finger from mine. "I-i don't want you to cut your finger off. No, no." I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Then I'll come back tomorrow. That way, I won't have to cut it off. Okay?"

"Y-yeah, that would be good." We stare at each other in an awkward silence.

"Oh, are you cold? Your hand felt frozen"

"I-i'm fine, really"

"You sure?"

"Y-yes. I'm sure." I couldn't help but feel Puppette was lying. Puppette had to be cold with a hand like that. I quickly take off my sweater and fold it up. "W-what are you doing?"

"Giving you my sweater. You must be freezing. Please take it"

"I-i can't. It belonged to you and-"

"Puppette, please take it.." I ask with my best puppy eyes.

"Fine..thank you." She puts out her hands and take the sweater I had folded.

"I have to get going. My friends are waiting"

"You'll come tomorrow right?"

"Pinky promised" I remind Puppette

"Pinky promise."
