"Shub, clean the room for god sake"

"Shub get up your ass and clean the goddamn room"

Ishan shouted for the nth time but shub was not interested at all.

Shub was listening to excuses on a loop the whole day.
No doubt Ishan liked it but he was on his nerves today.
Ishan turn off the switch and that's how he got shub attention.

"What the hell bro????!!!!"
"Clean the room brooo"
"Why?"
Shub asked getting up from his bed and started putting all his gadgets where they belonged.
"(Y/N) is coming"

Ishan said without making eye contact with shub.

Shubman smirked and said,
"Yeah yeah ofc I'll clean the room and won't disturb the lovebirds"

"Not in the mood to argue shub but we are just friends"

YN greeted and hugged Ishan.

"Oh hello to you too, (Y/N)"
Shub said being dramatic.

"So, how is practice going on??"

"Great. Exhausted but looking forward to this series"

Ishan replied and eyed shubman to leave the room.

"Oh on that note, gotta hit the gym. Enjoy kids"
Shub said and left for the gym with a smirk.

"What was that for?"
(Y/N)asked

"You know shub being shub. Leave it and tell me about you. What's going on with you??"

"Okay, remember jay shah"
Ishan nodded and said, "your annoying senior"
"Yes, well we both didn't like each other for a reason. We talked about it and it turns out we both like it. AHHH can you believe it?!"

Ishan was shocked.
How? when?
They both hated each other.
I don't know. Like im happy for them but it feels wrong.

"So you both are dating? Like dating dating"
"Ha baba. I mean look at him. He's so gorgeous and smart."

"Ishan Kishan go to sleep"

"Ishan stop would you-"

"Would you date someone who used to bully you?"
Ishan asked without looking at shubman.

"I mean no. But people change so it depends"

"Yes or no?"

"No. Care to elaborate?"

Ishan groaned and said,
"(Y/N) is dating her college bully. She's like aww he's so sweet. He's so smart. He's so perfect. Blah blah"

Shubman started laughing.
"Stop laughing"

Ishan grinded his teeth.

"Ish you're jealous, my boi"

Ishan glared at shubman.
Ishan was not in the mood to talk anymore so he went back to sleep.
But he couldn't as he could hear shubman's laugh.

India has won both the series(ODI and T20) with Australia, and now it was time for South Africa. It's been a few months since Ishan talked to YN. They had a few calls which didn't last more than 15mins. And then there were texts before the match for good luck and after the match for congratulations.

"Ishan you done?"

"Yeah. Let's go"
Ishan and Shubman got out of the gym and towards their room.

Both the boys were checking their phones and that's when Ishan chuckled and said,
"See. jay. again"

Shubman just ignored it and let him stay in denial.

Right now both of them were watching England vs Australia.

Ishan paused the game and said,
"Why?"

"It's a game Ish. You know Steve smith loves to play against England"

"Ugh im not talking about the game Bhai"

"Toh?"

"(Y/N)"

"AH Of course"
Shubman murmured.

"She's changed a lot. I mean we used to talk at least once a week for more than 15mins that's for sure. I mean don't know shub. It's just......I miss her"
Ishan confessed.

"I have never seen her like this. I mean so involved with a boy that she forgets about everything"

Shubman smiled and replied,
"She's always been like this. The only difference is, earlier that boy used to be you"

Ishan was alone in this room as shubman was with his physio.
India won the T20 series with South Africa and now it was time for ODI.

Ishan was cleaning his kit when he heard a knock. To his surprise it was (Y/N).
She was there with teary eyes and a bit of messy hair.
Ishan let her in and gave her water while she sat on the bed.

"What happened (Y/N)?"

"Jay broke up with me"
(Y/N) replied and started crying even more.

"Hey hey don't care. You don't deserve that crap bag"
Ishan consoles her while hugging her.

"He said that im too witty. I'm boring like geeky boring. Like im too lame for his "group". Am I not pretty enough for jay, ish?"

Ishan was shocked to hear this.
Did she think that about her?

"No no no, love. You're the most gorgeous girl I have ever come across. That jerk doesn't deserve you. You are funny, cute and the most intelligent woman. You make me wanna learn new things. You are a confident, independent woman. Lame? You are goddamn funny. There's not a time when I didn't laugh my ass out when I was with you. That's the reason I love you"

And just like that, it happened.

"You love me..????"

"Um, I mean. Ah Yes, I love you (Y/F/N). It's okay if you don't feel-"

Before he could finish (Y/N) just off the bed and hugged Ishan like he was leaving her forever.

"I love you too Ish. Pretty much the day I met you"

Neither of them let go of the other.

The best relationship is when it starts from a friendship.
