"Welcome to the big event of the year. IPL Started with a bang performance by Darshan Raval. For the next few weeks don't let the remote slip from you. Tonight's match is between the great team Mumbai Indians and Gujurat Titans. This match and this year are going to change the future of a few players. The match is not against teams only but also 2 players. These 2 players have made their name even before getting a chance to play for India. These two are phenomenal. They have aced their game in the Ranji trophy and are now to make their name in IPL. On one hand, we have Shubman Gill and on the other, we have Ishan Kishan"

"Yes. These two are the future of India. People are happy to see the future Rohit in Ishan and Future Virat in Shubman. Now we have to see who will get into the squad for T20 against Afghanistan. One position is still available who will grab it?"

"And we all hope these two are like Rohit and Virat. We have seen how Rohit helped Virat when he was captain and how Virat is helping him during his Captaincy. Both the lads have respect and admiration for each other which is very rare to see these"

"So, MI has won the toss and decided to Bowl first"

"Oh, the batters have entered the ground. We can see Shubman Gill entering with confidence. He is walking gracing to the pitch with the senior and experienced Wriddman Saha"

"On the other end, we can see MI walking down and the cheers for MI are as loud as ever. We see the ball is given to Jasprit and Ishan Kishan is behind the wickets. We can see the future of India in one frame. And let the game begin"

"It was wonderful how GT won their first match. The winner was not sure until the last ball, that's the match we like to see. The Super Stricker was won by the youngster Ishan Kishan and the Man of the Match was won by Shubman Gill. When asked about his competition, he said his biggest competition is he, himself"

"Here we are at Simi- Finals, and according to Lucknow Super Giants, K L Rahul had withdrawn himself from the T20 Series Ahead of IPL. 2 nights ago he slipped and took up the injury. This has opened up the door for both Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. These two are just not leaving each other"

"Sir your key and room no. 1402"
One of the workers said, Ishan.

He said thank you and started walking. He took the lift to the 14th floor and inserted the key. He walked in to see a surprise.

"Hey"
Shubman said as he was putting his luggage properly.

"Um Hey"
Ishan answered.

Now the thing was, both of them knew that they were being compared. That they are seen as a rivalry but in fact, they haven't talked at all. So sharing a room for a few days would be awkward. For straight two days, they didn't talk at all. They just understood what the other one wanted or was doing.

"Wow, it's a sunny day outside. And from the toss we have heard that Afghanistan has won the toss and decided to bowl. And Rohit what? a, the Indian captain has selected a youngster to open with him. It's Ishan Kishan. Yes, everyone Shubman Gill is not in Playing 11"

It was a strategic timeout. So Shubman went to the ground with bottles. India had not lost the wickets yet. He went and gave Rohit the bottle and stood there. Ishan was waiting for the bottle so he just asked Shubman. That's when Shubman gave him. Rohit wanted to say but he felt that this was not the time"

India had won the match and tomorrow was the 2nd match. And to Shubman's surprise, Rohit had added Shubman and removed Ishan. Shubman was very excited. This was his moment. He had waited for years.

"Could be lower the voice, please"
Shubman said as Ishan was watching TV.

Ishan listens and ignores him.

"Ishan, please. I have a match tomorrow"
Shubman said.

Ishan sighed closed the TV and said,
"I know it might look scary but just pretend like you are playing for your state or IPL. Just enjoying the match and not thinking of the result, Rohit bhai's words. Okay"

"um Thank you and....... Sorry for yesterday. That was rude of me to not give you a bottle"
Shubman confessed.
Yes, he was angry for not playing but regretted it moments after.

"Chill bro. Just play well tomorrow"
Ishan said and closed the lights.

"India has won the toss and decided to bowl. And Shubman is coming in with his debut in place of Ishan. Rohit said he wanted to give each player a chance and check different combinations"

"India has won the Match. These youngsters have great potential and one day we could benefit from undesirable circumstances. Shubman Gill has proved himself to be an exceptional Debut. Now to seal the deal, Captain Rohit Sharma has to decide who will open in the next match. The beautiful Shubman Gill or the powerful Ishan Kishan?"

India won the toss again for the final match. India won the series by winning the first two matches. India was batting right now with two youngsters who were opening. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. Yes, Rohit decided to bat them together so they could talk and break the tension.

Ishan was hitting sixes and fours but Shubman was struggling. Bowler we're understanding and will take advantage. So after the over-completed, Ishan came and said,
"Come out of strict and try to hit"

"No. That's not my style"
Shubman said.

"Just do it. Trust me"
Ishan said and went back to the non-strikers' end.

Shubman was scared.
Should he trust Ishan?
Should he do something he is not known for?

He saw the bowler and took steps ahead and hit the ball. To his surprise, it was Six. And the ball went out of the stadium.

"India won the match and what a series it was for the debutante. These two had their dream debut. Now we have to see if will they be consistent like this or not?"

Rivalry to Friends!?
The rivalry of the next best batsman between Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan had turned into something big. Yes, the heartthrobs had started following each other on Instagram. They started their debut together and brought home the trophy. During the series, all witness the chemistry between these two. Now, let's see how things go further.

Shubman had unpacked his bag and was chilling while watching Suits. It was his new obsession. Harvey was about to start his deposition when Ishan arrived.
"Hey!"
Ishan greeted as he put on his bags and was sitting on the edge of the bed. He still had his headphones around his neck.

"Ishan, how was the flight?"
Shubman asked.

"You know the basic"
Ishan replied and lay on the bed.

"Ishan. Shoes"
Shubman screamed.

Ishan ignored him. So Shubman stood up and called his name again and told him to behave.
This time Shubman had genuine anger so Ishan didn't argue.

The next few days went by quickly from gym to training session. The Series wasn't that great for Shubman. He wasn't able to stay on the ground for more than 30 minutes. He dropped one or two important catches. He was frustrated. He was angry. He was all boiled up and ready to burst. 

It was the 3rd match day. They all gathered for the team meeting as the score was 1. India had to win the match at any cost. Shubman was silent in the meeting. He just listened to Rahul Sir and Rohit Bhai. He was sitting in the corner. Ishan Didn't fail to notice the change in the behaviour of his roommate. He could understand his struggle.

All the other team members went out leaving Shubman and Ishan. Shubman stayed for himself but Ishan stayed for Shubman. Shubman didn't even realize that everyone left.  And Ishan was staring at him.

"Shubman" Ishan tried calling him but no answer.

"Shubman"
Again no reply.

"Gill"
No answer.

"Shubman"
This time Ishan called him with a little tap on his shoulder breaking his thought.

"Huh?"
Shubman spoke being least bothered.

"Shubman.. I understand what you are going through and I know how it feels-"
Ishan tries to speak but Shubman stops him by saying,
"You don't know how it feels and you don't understand. So just leave"

"Shubman that's not true. I've been through that phase and I know it's different for everyone but the feeling same"
Ishan said.

Shubman wanted to stand up and leave but he rather stayed inside than outside.

"I went through this phase last year. I struggle badly at IPL. Getting ducks and single-digit scores. Getting replaced as a wicketkeeper. It's the worst"
Ishan continued.

"Then how did you get out?"
Shubman asked keeping his voice low and not making any eye contact.

"I kept practising. And I had hope. Hope to get better. I practice like there is no tomorrow.  It felt exhausting by evening but I kept going. But the more important thing is hope. Hope to stay longer on the field. And being confident enough to make the shot"
Ishan spoke.

"Thank you so much, Ishan. It means a lot"
Shubman said.

And Ishan nodded saying welcome.

"I think you should get dressed now"
Shubman continued.

Ishan nodded and started to walk out but stopped at the door, turned around and said,
"You know there is one difference in our phase"

"What?"
Shubman asked.

"I had no one to talked and you have me"
Ishan answered and winked at Shubman and left the room.
Making Shubman happy. And a little confident.

"Welcome to Eden Garden for the night to remember.  It's the third ODI for India vs. Sri Lanka. The decider to be precise. India won the toss and chose to bowl first. The game is a must-watch. But the big news from the Indian dressing room is that Shubman Gill is not playing 11. Why? Maybe because of the last few matches. Whatever it is India needs to win the match and they will be no. One team"

"Sri Lanka did great with the bat and scored a target of 457. It's a big target for Team India. Let's see how they play and how it goes"

"Oh no, no great news for the team India as they have lost another player but not with a wicket. Hardik Pandya has gotten an injury. Bad day for India. With Rohit and Virat losing early wickets. Ishan is the only man standing and handling the match"

"A change in the team. Shubman entered the ground and the crowds went crazy. It looks like Shubman is playing after all. The crowd wanted the youngster to play. Shubman Gill is the only hope now. Will it take the lead and write his name in history or will it just be a bad match for India?"

Shubman entered the pitch and Ishan greeted him.
"Shubi this is your moment. You can do it and you will do it. Let's go!"
Ishan said comforting words to Shubman.

Shubman was on non-strikers end. His heart was beating fast. He saw Ishan telling him to run and he ran.

Shubman was now on strike. He looked at the bowler. He saw him running and the ball came and went. He looked up and saw the ball easily crossing the boundary. A much-needed boundary for India.

The crowd went wild and so did the player. He knew that one shot couldn't win the match but it could win the confidence.

"Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are on fire. The youngster is playing like an experienced player. Shubman Gill is on 190 and Ishan is on 199 both players are on the verge of their first 200 hundred.  India needs 18 runs more in 2 overs. It is still possible. Let's see the next 12 balls"

Ishan saw the baller running and to his luck, he gave Ishan a bouncer and Ishan took full advantage and sent the ball out of the stadium.  Ishan becomes the young Indian to score a double century.

Shubman was on 197 with 3 balls remaining. Shubman and Ishan came in the middle for the talk.
"Shubi come on. Just hit the ball.  You will do it"
Ishan said.

Shubman has realized two things.
1. Ishan has been calling him Shubi throughout the whole match.
2. He always said that he will do it. Not he can. He will.

With a four Shubman Gill became the Youngest Indian to score a double century.

"What a match. What a match. This match will be remembered for the game played by Shubman and Ishan. They own this match. Two youngsters scored a double century. They made an impossible game come true. India became the number 1 ODI team. And with this, India is Number 1 in all formats. This was the match to watch. The people who missed it won't be able to feel the emotions. It is the tale to tell"

"And that's how we became best friends, right Shubi?"
Ishan said sipping the cup of coffee with his right hand and putting his left one around his wife,  Riddhima.

"Yeah, I remember that match. I was watching it on TV"
Sana said.

"Right, man. That was one of the best matches I have ever played"
Shubman said kissing Sana on her cheeks. His New girlfriend.

"Ask how many times I have heard this story?"
Riddhima asked Sana.

"How many?"
Sana asked with a soft laugh. With a laugh, Shubman fell for her.

"Please, it's a tale to tell my love"
Ishan said kissing his lady's knuckle.

"I have lost the count"
Riddhima said to Sana and kissed Ishan for his goofiness. 

"Oh stop the PDA"
Shubman said and closed his eyes like a kid.

"I am done with these two"
Shubman continued.

Riddhima and Sana let out a laugh at them.

"Now you have a Girlfriend, Shubi. You don't have to watch us.  You know what I mean"
Ishan said with a wink.

Shubman and Ishan pulled their respective girl into the kiss.

Their life changed after that match. They became known for more than just their looks. They became the face of cricket. Soon Ishan met his life partner on a fine day when he was visiting Riddhima town. For Riddhima, Ishan was just a boy but for Ishan, she was his whole universe. She was the charm. She was the thing he was missing. She was the calm he needed. She was the audience he needed for his prank. She was the Star and the moon he wanted to look at. She was the one he looked at the fully packed stadium. She was the subject he wanted to master.

And for Shubman, he met his girl through Riddhima. Shubman saw her at Ishan's wedding and became obsessed forever. For Shubman Sana was everything. No One's opinion matters more than hers. She was the one who saw the struggle behind those dimples. She was the one who handled all the hate for just being with the one she loved. For Shubman, she was the thing He prayed for. She was the missing puzzle in his jigsaw. For Shubman, she was the main character in his own story. She was the girl he dedicated everything to. His century, his success, his happiness. His everything.  She was the one who made him sane. She was the one who held her hands when no one was.
