CHAPTER 10:

CATALINA'S POV:

I'm sitting in the huge walk-in closet, playing with the new weapons Jaden got me, when he walks in. "Would you like to take a closer look at the jewelry?" he asks me.

"Jaden, I can't keep any of that, but, yes I would," I tell him.

He opens the drawer and punches in the password to open the glass case. I ask him, "So, is that some sort of special glass?"

"Yes, it's bullet proof and shatter proof. And just so you know, the four digit password is the day we met two years ago on August 12th," he tells me.

"You remember the date we met?" I ask him.

He looks at me seriously, "I'll never forget it."

I feel a little awkward for a moment until he says, "It's not everyday sixteen year old girls try to kill you."

I laugh, "Yeah, sorry about that."

"You're forgiven Cat," he says and pulls out a beautiful sapphire necklace. "Now, let's see how this looks on you."

I oblige him, turn around and hold up my hair so he can put the necklace on me. I turn back around and he says, "Beautiful."

"Thanks, but like I said, I really can't accept all of this," I tell him.

"Oh, but you can accept the weapons? I told you it's a package deal," he says.

I look down at my cool new toys. There are sais, knives, stakes, a sword, a crossbow and even a couple handguns. They're so beautiful. I finally look up at Jaden, "Fine! I really do love the jewelry too. Thank you." I give him a quick peck on the cheek, but he pulls me in for a more passionate kiss.

When he pulls back, he says, "I'm sorry about your friends Catalina."

"Don't worry about it, I'm sure everything will turn out okay," I tell him. "They just need a few days to cool down. I am going to need you to meet all of them, so that they know not to stake you in a dark alley one night."

Jaden laughs, "I don't think they would succeed. So, you're not freaked out about the apartment anymore?"

"I guess not, but that doesn't mean I'm accepting it. I'm just staying here for a few nights," I tell him.

"We'll see," he says with a sly grin. Cocky ass vampire. Then he says, "I have to go now. I haven't fed yet tonight. I can go a few days, but I prefer not to."

I immediately get jealous, "Who are you going to feed from?"

He looks unsure for a moment, then says, "As I told you earlier, I own all of the units in this building. I rent them out to friends for a reduced or free amount. In return, some of these friends provide me with blood."

"You mean, they let you bite them?" I ask.

"Yes," he says.

"Will you be feeding off a woman tonight?" I ask.

"Yes," he says looking nervous.

"No," I tell him.

"No?" he asks.

"Yes, I said 'no'. I don't want you feeding off any other women," I say.

"When you say 'other', do you mean that I can feed off of you?" he asks.

"Um yeah. I mean, it wasn't so bad. I kind of liked it. But, no sex! And no more biting my neck. The wound has been healing quickly, but I'd rather not have to worry about covering up bite wounds."

"It's healing quickly because I licked it and my saliva has healing properties. Well then, where would you like me to bite you instead? There's the breast, the inside of the thigh or the wrist."

"There's no way I want you to bite my wrist. That's just too much like suicide for me. And the other two? Pervert! What if I want you to bite me in the foot? Can you do the foot?" I say, laughing.

"Very funny Catalina. Fine, the breast it is," he says.

"No! Fine the thigh! Pervert!" I call him. "Can't you just bite ugly men instead?"

"Why only ugly men?" he asks, amused.

"Because I don't even want you biting attractive men," I say.

"I've never been gay," he says.

"Yeah, but I'm really competitive," I say.

"I've noticed. Now go lay down on the bed and spread your legs," he says with a sly smile.

"You are so enjoying this, aren't you?" I ask.

"Yes, I am," he says.

I am still wearing the dress from the club, so he has easy access to my thighs. Instead of spreading them like the pervert wants, I just lift one leg up with my knee in the air. Take that pervert!

He sighs and joins me on the bed. For a second, I get kind of nervous as his fangs distend. Then he swiftly bites into my inner thigh and I feel a few seconds of sharp pain that quickly turns into pleasure. Oh my god, it's better than I remembered!

I moan Jaden's name and he growls. When he is done drinking, he lets go of my leg and I let my knee fall to the side. He crawls up my body and is now settled between my open legs. When his head reaches the level of mine, I grab his face and bring him down for a kiss, stroking his tongue with mine.

I push his face back, "See, that is why I didn't want you biting anyone else." He laughs as I bring him down for another kiss, while pushing my hips against his.

When we are done making out, we lay on the bed with my head on his shoulder and his arms wrapped around me. "I told you before, it's not like that with everyone I bite."

"Maybe I'll be okay with you biting those people, but they can't be attractive women!" I say.

"Okay Kitty Cat," he kisses the top of my head.

"I said maybe," I mumble and he chuckles.

"The sun will be coming up, I have to leave soon," he tells me.

"Ugh, I don't want you to leave. I'm comfortable," I whine, but I know that vampires are weak during daylight hours and that prolonged exposure to sunlight can kill them.

"I'll stay a few more minutes," he says.

"Hey! When do I get to see where you sleep?" I ask.

"If we get in an argument, you aren't going to stake me while I sleep?" he asks.

"No, of course not. I'll just hit you in your sleep," I tell him.

"Oh, in that case then, I guess I'll show you tomorrow night," he says.

"Okay, now you need to go off to your lair, because I need my sleep. I have big bad vampires to hunt down tomorrow," I tell him, while lifting off his shoulder.

"You're going out hunting tomorrow?" he asks me.

"Yup, you know you interrupted my hunting tonight when I caught you with that nasty slut," I tell him, but why do I feel like I need his approval? I'm used to doing whatever I want. I don't even let Noah boss me around.

"Okay," he says. "But, I'm going with you."

"Weren't you always with me anyways? Lurking in the shadows?" I ask.

He laughs, "Something like that. I'll also need to call my parents and start 'Operation Infiltration'."

"I do feel nervous, about you getting involved with other vampires to find out information about Jonathan and Daniel," I tell him.

He gives me a quick peck on the lips, "I'll be alright. Afterall, I am the apple of my parents' evil eyes."

"Okay, have fun going into your vampire coma today," I tell him. "I can't wait to use my new weapons tomorrow night."

"Now who's the bloodthirsty one?" he asks me.

"That's still you, vampire perv," I say with a laugh. He gives me a big kiss and leaves the apartment.

My apartment. How weird. Still, this stay is only temporary. In a few days, everything will have cooled down at home and I'll go back. Since the sun is about to come up, I know that Jaden's daytime resting place is somewhere close, most likely in this building.

I take a shower and change into some of the pajamas that Jaden has gotten me. As I get into bed and under the covers, I wonder what tonight will be like. A vampire hunter, out killing vampires, with a vampire by her side. Weird.

I know that soon, I'll get the revenge I've been waiting four years for. And I owe it all to Jaden. The vampire I'm dating. The vampire I'm letting bite me. Like I said, weird.
