8. Bop
Gemini's POV
"You owe us so much, Leo!" Sagi screamed out.
We're still helping Leo clean his house. I really wish I left with Virgo, Pisces, and Taurus. Sagi and I were in the bathroom cleaning... vomit.
"That's it," I say, "I'm done." I leave the bathroom with Sagi following me. I see Scorpio running down the stairs and he looks like he's in a good mood.
"Hey, Scorpy," Sagi says. His face frowned up and he rolled his eyes and was already downstairs now. "He's so much more fun when he's drunk," she says going down the stairs. I follow her even though I thought she was behind me.
I kind of figured they wouldn't like each other when they were both sober. Sagi is too loud and fun, and no offense to Scorpio, but he's always a downer and sarcastic. They never really talked before unless Scorpio gave a sarcastic reply to Sagi when she said something or when Sagi would make fun of his nickname Leo would sometimes call him when they talked. The only time I've seen them friendly to each other was last night.
Me and Sagi walk to the living room downstairs to where we see Leo laying on the couch. "What the fuck, Leo!!!" Sagi yelled. He jumped and rolled off the couch. He rubbed his back to where he hit when he fell.
"You're sleeping while we're cleaning your house?" I say to him almost blowing up. Almost.
"I was looking to see if there was lint on the ceiling," he said. Is he joking? He has to be joking, right? Nobody can be this stupid. Nobody.
"Behind your eyes?" Sagi threw the dirty towel at him. "Clean the 'lint' with this. We're taking a break," she said leaving.
"Disrespectful!" Leo yelled out to her. She gave him a middle finger without turning away. I look at Leo and he looked at me. I slowly turned to where Sagi was going and followed her.
We were in the kitchen where Aquarius and Cancer were, washing dishes. The kitchen looks clean already except for about a few more dishes they were doing.
"Don't worry about 'em," Sagi says as Aqua was grabbing a glass to wash. "You guys are taking a break." She walked to the fridge.
Aqua looked at Cancer and Cancer did the same. Aqua placed the glass in the sink and left it.
"There's no good food here," Sagi says looking through the fridge.
"Cap already made breakfast," Cancer said.
Sagi rolled her eyes at her, "Yeah like 2 hours ago." I'm starting to think she doesn't like her. "I'm going to the store. Who wants to come with?" she asked.
"I'll go," I said.
"I'll go too," Cancer said.
"Gem already agreed to go. Sorry," she said getting a bottle of water from the fridge and sipping from it. Sagi and I head out the door to her car.
Her car was really clean except for the fast food cups in almost every seat. "Ah, shit. Forgot my keys," she said. "I'll be right back." She ran back to the house to grab her keys. I waited patiently for 2 whole minutes. That's way too long! I got bored and started to look through some things.
She has a big journal that I decided to snoop through. They were only drawings. And I don't mean to offend, but these drawings look like they were made by an eight year old. I laughed a little looking at them.
Sagi came back and sat in the driver's seat. "Aren't you a little snooper," she said to me while smiling.
"Sorry," I say closing her journal.
"Don't be. It's just drawings I made when I was a child. I saw you laughing through the window. It's okay to laugh," she said still smiling.
"Yeah, but there could've been some personal things in here that I would've decided to look through anyway," I said feeling guilty.
She just laughed at me. "I'm not the type to write secrets in a journal. What's the point of writing secrets that someone could easily sneak and read them? I'm better at keeping that stuff to myself," she said taking the journal from me.
She opened to a page of a drawing of a sunflower with purple clouds behind it and a pink sky. "I remember making this when I was outside. I had a very big imagination then," she said giggling remembering her past. I laughed with her. The drawing was colored with crayon, so there were a lot of white spaces.
She turned the page to a drawing of a very ugly butterfly that it was kind of adorable and childish. It was blue with yellow spots and colored messily with marker. "I never had a camera to keep a photo journal, so I would go outside and make my own pictures. The sunflower thing was my own imagination, but this picture was when reality hit me and I knew I couldn't make things up how I wanted. It was the most beautiful butterfly I've ever seen in my life," she said still smiling. I love when she smiles. Especially seeing this side of her makes me know she's not as rebellious and rude as everyone thinks she is. Aries and Leo are lucky they get to see this side of her.
Sagi turned the page again and it was a picture of a family of three. "Me, my mom, and dad," she said showing the same emotion as before. They were all happy and holding hands, so I could tell Sagi really loved her family. I realized she's never really talked about her parents. She would leave a room to talk to her mom on the phone sometimes, but she's never talked about her. I guess that's just not who she is. She never shows this side of her, so I guess it's normal not to talk about your parents either. I barely talk about my parents to the zodiacs anyway.
"How long have you had this?" I asked her.
"A long time," she replied back looking at the cover.
The cover is just a plain brown, but something about it made her want to smile. As soon as she smiled she closed the journal shut and threw it in the backseat without a care in the world about it.
"Ready to go?" she asked me.
"Hell yeah," I said. I don't know why I even said that.
Sagi started to drive and turned the music up. She has some really great taste in music.
"What's this song?" I ask her bopping along to it.
"3:15 by Bazzi. Pretty good, huh?" she says glancing at me, smiling and driving.
"You got good taste in music Ms. Archer," I say to her smiling back and wiggling my brows.
"Only the best!" she says.
Moments later...
We finally made it to the store and bought loads of food. She was driving the buggy while I was picking out food to eat.
"This?" I said holding the jar of Nutella like ladies would do in an old commercial.
"You don't even have to ask!" she said as I threw it in the cart. She lifted herself up on the cart with both legs on the steel bottom and her arms crossed on the handle for support. "Get some chips," she said.
"Barbeque or original?" I said.
"Hmm.. both!" she replied.
I threw them in. She hopped off the cart and we started to pay for these. We were buying a lot of food. The cashier guy was scanning all of our food, most of the things we know we're not gonna eat. The total said $1,674.58!!!
"Are you seriously buying that much for food," I whisper yelled to her.
"What? Oh, you poor, sweet, innocent Gemini," she said caressing my hair, "I'm not paying for anything." She reached in her back pocket and pulled out a credit card. "Leo is!" she smiled at me and swiped the card and inserted the pin. The bags of food are now all in the cart and this time, I push it.
"How did you know the pin number?" I asked.
"For one, this isn't my first time having a hold of Leo's credit card. And two, the pin is his mom's birthday. Three, I don't know his mom, but I do know my research," she says putting the card back in her pocket as we were leaving. There goes the con artist everyone knows.
We were headed to the car now. "You can go inside. I'll put everything up," she says.
I nodded and sat in the passenger seat as she put the bags in the trunk of her car. I was growing impatient again, so of course I did more snooping. I saw she had a lot of CDs in the glove department. By now, I trust Sagi's music taste so I opened one and slid it in the slot so we can listen to more on the way back to Leo's. A few minutes passed and I was on my phone.
Sagittarius came back and crunk up the car. "Is Leo going to be mad?" I asked her.
"Who cares. I owe him and Aries 2,000 anyway," she says looking behind her to see if anyone was behind us. She turned on the music and started driving. I was bopping to it, but Sagittarius wasn't. She turned it off just as the chorus was about to start.
I looked at her, "Hey-" I was about to say. "Did you go through my CDs?" she asked me not looking at me but with a straight face.
"Yeah..." I said looking at her who still didn't make no eye contact with me. It was a short pause until we stopped at a red light. She took the CD out and threw it in the backseat.
"We're not listening to music anymore," she said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"That song is hell," she said finally looking at me.
"Then why do you have it?" I ask. She looked at me for a few seconds then looked straight ahead to the road that was still red.
Although she said no more music, she blasted mainstream, so that when I talked, she could easily tune me out. The light went green, and she still didn't look at me or say anything. What the hell I thought to myself. I slouched back in the seat. I loved the song that was playing, but the tension made me want to jump out of the car and roll into a ditch. Why is she ignoring me now? I didn't do anything wrong. Did I?
