38. Halloween Night Four

Scorpio's POV

I don't know what's Cancer's problem. She was like this at Leo's party too. At Leo's party, she left me to hang out with her friends, excluding me. When I hung out with Leo and his friends, all the sudden she wanted to be around me again. She was like that tonight too! I was hanging around Cass and Auriga (Lyra's friends) for a while, and then Cancer starts to get mad at me. It's like she doesn't want me to talk to anybody except for her. It's highly annoying.

I come back with two bottles of champagne and walked towards to Auriga and Cass. Auriga was dressed as a zombie cheerleader while Cass was the Grim Reaper. They both looked great to me. Their eyes lit up when they saw me walk in with the two bottles.

"For us?" Auriga says puffing up her curly hair.

I scoffed. "No. It's for someone else."

Cass gave me a fake sad face. "Really? Who is it?"

I rolled my eyes at her. "Don't worry about it, Cass."

Cass started giggling.

"Scorpio! Hey, Scorpio!" I heard a voice yell out to me. I turned around and saw Lyra. She was smiling at me and holding hands with Leo.

I waved at her back as Auriga and Cass were waving like crazy to their best friend. Leo tried to not make any eye contact with me, so he was only looking back and forth at Cass and Augria.

"Hey, guys," Lyra says, sliding next to me with Leo's hand still in hers.

Auriga gestured her thumb to Leo beside her. "Who's this?"

Lyra looked up and Leo's tall height and back at her. "This is Leo. He's also from the zodiac, of course," she says shrugging her shoulders and smiling.

Cass tapped her chin. "I still think Scorpio's hotter," she says, giving me a flirtatious smile.

Leo scowled. "No way, I look better than him!"

I rolled my eyes at him. I forget how annoying and egotistical he could get.

Lyra rolled her eyes too. "It doesn't matter what people think, Leo."

He looked at her like she was crazy. "Uh, yeah it does. Are you stupid?"

Auriga was laughing at both of them.

Leo turned around to see the two bottles of champagne on the living room table behind me. "Champagne!" he says, attempting to grab a bottle.

I quickly gripped a strong hand on his wrist. "Not for you," I say, death staring him.

Leo growled at me and snatched away from me, rubbing his wrist after. We were still death staring each other as Cass began to say something.

"Yeah," she says, "he's saving it for somebody." She rolled her eyes then smiled when Auriga nudged her arm.

Leo just didn't say anything. He just kept death staring me as I did with him. Lyra was looking at the both of us.

"Guys," she says, "what's even going on?"

Leo stopped looking at me, so I stopped too. He looked at Lyra, smiled, and told her it was nothing. I rolled my eyes at it.

Then, Sagittarius comes. "Leo!" she yells out.

Leo turned around to see Sagittarius walking towards us. She didn't even make eye contact with me. Her eyes were only focused on Leo.

"Hey!" he says, hugging his best friend.

She smiled while hugging him back and looked at Lyra. Lyra looked crazy jealous if you ask me.

"Hey. Who's this?" she asked, breaking up the hug and looking at Lyra, Auriga, and Cass.

Leo looked back at them. "This is Lyra," he says nudging the witch's arm, "and I haven't met anybody else."

Lyra decided to speak up for them. "This is Auriga," she says putting a hand on the zombie cheerleader's shoulder, "and Cass," she says gesturing a hand to the grim reaper.

Sagittarius nodded in understandment. "Sweet! I'm Sag," she says, pulling down her revealing nurse dress. Everything about her costume is revealing. Can she just cover up or something?

Lyra gave her a fake smile. That's when I remembered something!

"Oh! Sagittarius!" I say, turning to the two bottles of champagne, "these are for you and your new boytoy."

Leo looked straight at me. "I know you're fucking lying."

Sagittarius gave me a look in disbelief. "Haha, you're so funny."

"What? Where is he anyway? I'm kind of dying to meet your boyfriend," I pointed to my neck with two holes of fake blood, "pun intended."

She rolled her eyes at me. She knows how she is when she's completely drunk. She ends up exposing herself sooner or later. Sagittarius was completely sober tonight for one good reason. She was hiding something that she didn't want anybody to know.

"You have a boyfriend?!" Leo asked Sagittarius in a kind of frustrated tone.

She shrugged her shoulders. "Not really a boyfriend. You know I don't really date, so we're just taking things slow. I just met him like three days ago," she says, trying to convince everyone.

Leo stood over her. He was tall compared to her. "Three days ago?! Sagittarius, that's like-"

"What? You got with me in one day, Leo," Lyra says, tugging his arm.

I tried to hide my laugh with Auriga and Cass. Luckily, nobody saw us laughing.

Leo didn't know what to say. I'm pretty sure he didn't want anything serious with Lyra either, but I wasn't going to let her know that. I already screwed up with Leo once. I still regret it.

Sagittarius just smiled at the lion as he rolled his eyes. "See? I'm so glad you can understand!" she says, clapping her hands together.

Leo rolled his eyes again at her. "Well, if you and your 'not so serious' boyfriend won't get drunk, can I drink?" he says, trying to pull the champagne from Sagittarius.

She lets him take it. "I don't care. Go for it."

"Hey, Sag!" a british voice called out. He was walking through a group of people that were dancing in the living room. We were on the other side of it where nobody was dancing.

Sagittarius turned around. She didn't even smile. "Hey," she says, then turns back around to us.

The british guy had messy brown hair, a black shirt, black jacket, black pants, and black shoes. I don't know what he was supposed to be. Maybe he didn't dress up at all. His style was similar to mine just a bit. He had two red cups in his hand. I'm guessing one for Sagittarius and one for himself.

He gave a red cup to Sagittarius who was still acting kind of shy or cold to him. I couldn't really tell. "Thanks," she mumbles.

He just smirked at her and took a sip of his drink. "Who are these people?" he asked, gesturing his cup to everybody.

She sighed. "This is Leo, my best friend, Lyra his possible girlfriend, Auriga and Cass, I don't know them, and Scorpio, the complete dick."

I rolled my eyes at her. "I'm not a dick."

She gave me a fake smile. "Not when you're drunk."

"How old are you?" Leo asked the guy.

"24."

Leo squinted his eyes at him. "Mm, okay. Well, Sagi here is 19. Almost 20. So I recommend not going too fast with each other. You're too old for her," he says, taking a long sip from the champagne bottle.

The guy squinted his eyes at Sagittarius. "You're 19? How did you even get into the bar?" he asked her.

She took a long sip from her cup. "Ever heard of a fake ID? We do those things now," she says, rolling her eyes at him.

Leo stopped drinking straight from the bottle. "What's your name?"

"Neil."

"When's your birthday?"

"December 1st."

"Are you planning on cheating on her?"

"Nope."

"How did you guys meet?"

"At the bar."

"Do you have a job?"

"Not yet."

"Why not? How are you supposed to pay for Sag?"

"Leo!" Sagittarius yells. "Stop rambling him with questions!" she touched Neil's arm for comfort.

Leo rolled his eyes and looked back at Sagittarius. "Can I just ask one more question?"

She death stared him. "Fine! One more then that's it!"

Leo took a deep breath before he could say it. "Have you two... y'know..."

"No! No, no, no, no, no! That's the point of taking things slow, Leo."

He sighed a breath of relief. Neil was on the other side of Sagittarius smirking. He took another sip from his cup and set it down on the table.

Neil snaked an arm around Sagittarius' waist and brought her closer to him. I had a feeling they were gonna make out or something, so I wanted to look away but I couldn't. Instead, he just whispered something in her ear that made her give him a look in disbelief then smirked at him. He was smiling at her then caught me watching. He smirked at me when he saw me, so I finally looked away from them.

I still don't believe Sagittarius wants a relationship with him. She's not that type of person. Something just wasn't right.

Cass grabbed my arm. "Hey! Wanna dance?" she asked me excitedly.

I shook my head. "Nope. Sorry. I don't dance."

She frowned up at me and crossed her arms. Auriga started to talk to her, ignoring her frown.

Leo was talking to Neil, and I could see Sagittarius rolling her eyes at him. Lyra started to talk to me, and I didn't even realize.

"Not gonna lie, I thought she was his girlfriend or something?" she says.

My eyes widened. Does she think Neil and Sagittarius aren't a real couple too?

"Who?" I asked immediately.

She rose a brow at my sudden interest. "Sagittarius and Leo," she says slowly.

Nope. She's just as gullible.

"But are you sure they're only best friends? Or have they dated before in the past?" she asked with a worried look.

I shook my head. "They never saw each other more than best friends. Don't worry about that," I say, suddenly losing interest in the topic.

She smiled in understandment and let out a deep breath. "Thank God! It would be so awkward if that happened. I hate being caught in between a situation like that."

I looked over her to see that Sagittarius and Neil were gone. I kept trying to look for them, scanning through the group of people with my eyes. Then I found them. They were with everybody else dancing.

"Uh huh," I say to Lyra without paying attention to what she said after. "Cass," I say facing her now. Cass looked back at me. "I'm willing to dance now if you are." I gave her a smirk that I knew drove her and Auriga crazy.

She smiled at me and held her hand out. "Sure!" she says as I take it.

We both walked to where everybody else was dancing. I passed the couch and saw Aries all up over some blonde haired girl dressed as a ballerina. I rolled my eyes at them. Then I found Sagittarius and Neil again.

"Let's go over here," I say, accidently dragging Cass to where I wanted to be now.

At this moment, we were a few inches away from them. They couldn't see us because of everyone being so packed together. They were whispering something to each other, and I couldn't make out what was said. Cass was dancing and so was I. Not very good, but I'm pretty sure it's better than what the rest of the male zodiacs could do.

Neil and Sagittarius were now smiling at each other while dancing. I knew it wasn't the alcohol's doing. Sagittarius has a cup of something, but she wasn't drunk. Not yet anyway.

"I love this song!" Cass screamed out to me.

The song was rock. It seemed like her type by the badass way she dressed. It also sounds like something Taurus would listen to. It wasn't bad, but also wasn't really my type either. I could still maybe even bop along to it though.

Neil spun Sagittarius around, making her laugh. He brought her super close to him and said something to her. It made her smile. Then he said something again that made her smile dim. She was still smiling at him, but it wasn't as happy as it was before. What did he even say to her?

"Scorpio!" a voice called out.

I looked over Cass to see who it was. It was Cancer. What the hell does she want? Is she mad because I'm dancing with Cass? Only one way to find out.

I whispered into Cass' ear. "I'll be right back."

She frowned up.

"I promise," I reassured her.

She bit her bottom lip. "Okay, fine. Don't be too long," she told me.

I nodded and left the crowd to Cancer. I rolled my eyes when leaving Cass. Shut the hell up, Cass.

"What? If you're getting mad that I'm hanging out with other people other than you, I don't want to hear it," I say, crossing my arms.

She closed her eyes in frustration. "I'm not. I just want to say that I'm sorry."

I rose a brow at her. "Go on."

She rolled her eyes at me. Her eyes were really puffy and red. I didn't even noticed it before.

I tilted my head to see her better in the dark. "Were you crying?"

She was shaking her head letting her blonde hair get in her face, so I could stop looking at her. "No, I was just frustrated I guess," she said.

I sighed. "Cancer, why the hell are you like this?"

She looked back up at me. "What do you mean?"

"Everytime I hang out with somebody else that's not you, you act so clingly. Then you end up getting sad, Cance. I don't even know what I did! Why the hell are you always fucking sad?" I asked, almost getting frustrated just talking about it.

She sighed. "Scorpio, I don't know."

"Then come see me again once you get your shit together."

She looked like she got slapped in the face. I honestly felt really bad for getting mad at her like that, but she can't always act like that. It's not that I want to be mad at her. I know Cancer likes me. More than a friend. I guess that's why our friendship seems so uneasy now. It was just better when we could just be best friends without feelings getting too involved.

"Scorpio, I'm sorry," she says, voice almost cracking.

I nodded my head. "Yeah, I know. I'm going to go and dance again. With my other friend," I say.

I walked out to the crowd of people to find Cass again. I guess she saw everything. When I got to her, she wasn't dancing but was watching me coming back.

"Is that your girlfriend or something?" she asked me.

I gave her a look in disbelief. "No. My best friend actually," I say looking for Neil and Sagittarius again.

Cass looked around her. "What are you looking for?" she asked me, confused.

I looked back at her. "I don't know. I thought someone called my name again," I lied.

She smiled at me and started to dance again. Then I found Sagittarius and Neil again heading to the kitchen.

"Actually," I say grabbing Cass' hand, "let's go to the kitchen."

She just smiled and nodded as we made our way to the kitchen. In there was Virgo, Cepheus, Sagittarius, and Neil.

"Hey, guys," Virgo saays smiling us.

"Hey," I say in monotone.

"Who's that?" Virgo gestured her red cup to Cass beside me.

Cass waved her hand to everyone. "I'm Cass," she says while smiling.

Virgo nodded in understandment. She was faced to Sagittarius and Neil now. "And who's this?"

Neil pulled Sagittarius closer to him. "Neil," he says, "Sag and I are kind of seeing each other right now. Nothing too serious," he says smiling at Sagittarius. She rolled her eyes at him and kind of smiled back.

Virgo's eyes gotten wide again. "It's about time! I never would've thought you would date anybody."

Sagittarius shrugged.

Gemini walked in the kitchen now. "Hey, guys, can someone tell Aqua to- Oh! Hey, Neil!"

Neil waved at Gemini and gave her a smirk. "Gemini, was it?" he asked.

She nodded. "Yeah, but I go by Gem. I see you've met Neil," she says to Sagittarius.

Sagittarius' eyes widened.

"Actually," Neil said putting an arm around Sagittarius, "remember when I was talking about how I only had one friend? We're kind of seeing each other now," he says to Gemini.

Gemini looked like she got smacked in the face. "Oh! Really? I didn't know that," she says nodding her head at the both of them.

Sagittarius wriggled her way out of Neil. "I'm getting water," she says to him while smiling.

She walked passed me and Cass, not even making eye contact with any of us. I see her walk to the fridge looking for bottles of water.

"Scorpio, you want anything?" Neil asks me.

I turn away from Sagittarius and look at Neil. He was holding a bottle of champagne. I guess he noticed I was looking at her too.

"No," I mumble.

He just smirked at me and shrugged. He opened the bottle with his hand and handed the bottle to Gemini. "I'll get us glasses," he says to her.

He walked passed me to where Sagittarius was still looking in the fridge. She pointed to which cabinet the glasses were, so he went there. She closed the fridge and came to stand next to me with a bottle of water in her hand.

"You want some, Sag?" Neil called out behind her.

"No, thanks. I got water."

Cepheus started yawning. "What time is it?"

Virgo looked at her phone. "10PM."

Gemini's eyes widened. "For real? It doesn't seem that early."

Virgo shrugged her shoulders as she was playing with Cepheus' hair.

Neil came back to stand beside Sagittarius who was standing next to me. He gave the glass to Gemini, and she poured it in both of their glasses as she was seductively smiling at him. I looked at Sagittarius who didn't look a bit jealous. There's no way they're really dating.

I kept watching Neil. I just know something isn't right about him. And Sagittarius. She's hiding something. She's been acting so secretive after she left that night.

"Scorpio, can we go dance again?" Cass asks, tugging my arm.

I hesitantly said yes. I didn't want to. I really wanted to keep an eye on Sagittarius and that Neil guy and see what they were up to. They were hiding something, and it's driving me crazy.

Cass and I walked back in the living room and found Lyra and Leo again. Again, Leo and I weren't on good terms, so right now everything was just awkward.

"Hey, Scorpy," Lyra calls out to me, batting her eyelashes.

"Don't call me that again."

She puts her hands up in surrender. She was obviously drunk. I couldn't tell if Leo was too because he usually acts the same.

"Scorpio, let's dance!" Cass says again, tugging my arm another time.

"I don't feel like it."

Cass pouted. Her frowning and pouting is really getting annoying.

"I'll dance with you!" Leo says grabbing Cass' hands.

Leo and Cass ran out together leaving me and Lyra alone.

"Hey, Scorpio!" Lyra says to me again.

"You're drunk," I said as she was trying to hold my hand.

She just started laughing. "Shh! Don't tell anybody!" she said, still laughing.

She looked both ways as if someone was watching her. She then got closer to my ear and whispered something to me. "Do you like Sagittarius' boyfriend?" she says, in a serious but drunken way.

I shrugged. "I don't like anybody."

She nodded in agreement and looked beside me. What the hell was she looking at? I turned to see what she was looking at, but there was just the same people dancing.

"Scorpio," she says again.

I looked back at her to see if she was fine. She looked fine other than being completely wasted.

"I don't think Neil is normal," she whispers to me.

I actually got interested in where this conversation was going. "What do you mean?" I tilted my head to her.

She tried to hold my hand again, so I snatched away from her. Can she stop being all touchy-touchy? If she wants a make out session, I'm pretty sure Aries is tired of the blonde ballerina by now.

"I never heard of this Neil. Or seen him anywhere," she says being completely serious again. "And I know everybody."

I rose a brow. "Come on! You can't know every single person here," I say not believing a word she's saying right now.

"But I do! I haven't seen him before. Not once!" she says trying to convince me.

I shake my head. "Lyra, you're drunk."

She started to get mad. "But I'm right!" she yelled out.

I looked around to see if anybody else was watching us. They weren't. I turned back to Lyra. "You probably just missed him. There's no way you can know every single person here, Lyra."

She huffed and puffed and looked like she was about to cry. "But I do! And I don't know him!"

She sounded absolutely crazy right now. I didn't want to make a scene over this crazy shit. There is no way Lyra can know every single person. To not make a scene, I told her the only thing I could say.

"Okay, I believe you."

She smiled at me now. "Oh my God! Really? Like no joke?"

I nodded.

She seemed really happy now. It was obviously just the alcohol talking. "We should check him out! Like know all of his personal things. Where he was born, why I've never seen him before in my life," she suggested.

I rose a brow. "Like stalking the motherfucker?"

She was laughing. "Exactly!"

I rolled my eyes and smiled at her. Lyra was batshit crazy. Well, her drunk self anyway. She'll forget all about this tomorrow.
