Scorpio's POV
After watching a movie with Cancer and her friends, I decided to go home. It was only about 10pm and our constellations were very bright and clear in the night sky. I actually like this place so far. I was pulling into my driveway and another truck was parked out there too. Who the hell is at my house? I left my truck and went to my porch. And who was there was the person I was least expecting.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask almost raising my voice.
"We need to talk," Leo said standing up from sitting on the ground of my porch.
I brought out my keys from my pocket and unlocked my door. "Come in."
I walk in before Leo as he shut the door behind him not making any eye contact with him. I sit on my couch and pulled out my phone. "Well, what do you want?" I ask scrolling through my Instagram.
Leo sat in a chair across from me. "I'm not mad at you," he said.
I rose an eyebrow still looking at my phone. "Okay, how nice."
I could feel Leo getting frustrated that I didn't care. He was fidgeting with his hands and tapping his foot. I finally look up. He wasn't looking at me, but at his hands.
"What?" I ask him.
He looked back at me. "Are you mad at me?"
"I don't know," I say to him frowning.
"Well you shouldn't be," he said to me.
"Oh, yeah? And why not?" I say leaning back on the couch with my arms crossed and my phone laying beside me.
"I don't know why you and Sag don't like each other, but it wasn't okay for you to talk about her like that. It wasn't okay for you to talk to Aries like that," he said to me.
I scoffed.
"I only thought I was mad at you for talking to them like that when I told you not to. I even told Aries not to talk like that to you and he didn't. And I know it took everything in him to not say anything," he finishes.
"Then why were you mad," I ask him still raising an eyebrow.
"Because you didn't care about our friendship as much as I did! If you really did, you wouldn't have done what I asked you not to do. I could've chosen Aries' side just then, but I didn't. I couldn't. I gave you a choice," he said raising his voice at me.
I didn't want to hear any of this anymore. "I thought you said you weren't mad at me," I say to him unfolding my arms.
"I'm not. I don't want to be anymore," he says to me lowering his tone and being genuine.
"Then don't," I respond with. I stand up, crossed my arms again, and gestured the door with my head. "Are we done?"
Leo looked at me with fierce eyes. I could tell he wanted to let it go, but I just wouldn't let him. I don't know if I'm still mad at the fact he tried to burn me alive. At this point, I just stopped caring. He left without saying anything and slamming the door behind him. He's mad again. And I meant it before. I don't care.
I hear Leo's truck start and looked in the fridge for something to eat. He finally leaves, and I saw that there were nothing to eat in this house! I forgot I was going to buy more food before Cancer begged me to go to Leo's party two nights ago. And don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid. I know Cancer likes me. I show that I don't realize it, but I do. I just don't care and I hope she gets over me so that our friendship can remain mutual again. She's seriously the only friend I have. Now.
I grab my keys and walked out the door. You'd think in the new world they'd give me food at my remake of a house. I shook my head at the thought and got in my truck again. I listened to a few good tunes as I was driving and started to hum and tap my fingers on the wheel. I'm not one to sing and dance, but if I listen to a song I like, I will most definitely tap and hum along.
I arrived to a grocery store that was a 10 minute drive. It was about 11 when I got there. There were still people here so I knew that it would still be open. I hopped out of my truck and while I was walking inside, some old man was playing a guitar outside. He obviously wanted tips and I didn't give him any. If he really wanted money, he could sell his guitar. It's not my problem. I guess this new world just isn't treating him well.
I got a cart and started to go down to the dairy aisle. I saw a few girls stare at me and giggle as I passed them. "He's cute," one of them say. I just decided to pay them no attention.
I found where the milk was and left my cart to get a jug. When I placed it in my cart, the girl who called me cute walked up to me. She had brown shoulder-lengeth hair that was straight, fake tanned skin, and wearing shorts and a sweatshirt. Why is she wearing shorts when it's cold outside? It's fall.
"Hi," she said to me seductively.
I showed no interest in her. "Hello."
"I'm Lyra. And you are?" she asks me smiling and putting her hands behind her back. I see her other two friends a few yards behind her watching us, smiling. I then look back at the Lyra girl and I can't tell if she's nervous or acting like that to be cute.
"Scorpio," I say. I look back at her giggly friends that were behind her. Is this some sort of prank?
She looked behind her to see what I was looking at. Lyra then looked back to me and rolled her eyes and almost laughed, "Those are my friends. Ignore them. They just think you're cute. We think you're cute."
I didn't know what to say when people talk about how attractive I was. I was humble about it, but at the same time I didn't realize how blessed I was for my appearance. I gave an awkward response, "Okay, thank you." Stupid.
She took her hands from behind her back. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you before."
I didn't know if she was flirting with me now or just being friendly with that question. I figured it must be nice to actually better myself in this world. Actually become social and stuff. "Yeah, I got here last night. This world is much better than the other I know for sure though."
Her eyes lit up wide. "Wait... Scorpio... as in the zodiac?" she asked me.
I looked at her like she was weird. Which, in honesty, she was. "Yeah, what about it?"
She looked behind her and motioned her friends to come. They ran over to us still kind of giggling. "Guys, this is Scorpio. The zodiac Scorpio," she says to them and they all looked at me.
I shook my head. "Wait, am I missing something?" What was the big whoop of me being a zodiac?
"Don't you know?" one of her friends asked me.
I shook my head annoyed at the fact nobody will hurry up and tell me.
"We haven't had a zodiac here in, like, ever," the other friend said.
"This means you're suspicious and mysterious. That's hot," Lyra said.
I nodded my head."O-kay," I said slowly.
"Can you do a trick for us?" one of the girls ask me.
I turned my head to her. What trick is she talking about? I'm not a circus animal.
"She means, like, use your power," Lyra said making things understandable for me.
"Do you guys not have powers?" I ask her. I thought everyone here has it. That's why were put here, right?
"Well, not exactly," one of the girls started, "our powers don't exist until after we're 21. We're all 18 though."
"But you zodiacs break that rule. You guys were put on the other world for a reason while we all were born and raised here. You guys are special and had your powers before 21. Or maybe it's just a myth. I don't know," Lyra said to me looking down at her shoes.
"A myth? I do have powers," I said finally wanting to impress these girls. Their eyes all lit up. I'm hot, new, and mysterious. I guess I can see why they were so excited to talk to me. Ew, I sound like Leo.
"Really? Can you show us something?" one of the girls asked.
I haven't really used my power now that they ask. I know I have them, but I've never really embraced them. Neither of us have except for the Fire Signs because they do whatever they want. I practiced a few times with Cancer, but I'm sure she practiced more than I've done. I thought hard of what I wanted to show for them. I closed my eyes and held both of my hands up thinking what I could do. It took a lot of patience and lot of concentration. I was almost sweating of how embarassed I would be if I failed. I almost gave up until I heard Lyra's voice.
"Wow," she gasped.
I open my eyes. In front of me there was a flying dolphin made of water dancing in the air. I actually did it.
"That's so cool," one of her friends said not looking away while slapping her friend's arm.
Without properly thinking, I made the dolphin kiss Lyra's nose. I almost laughed with them. I didn't know I could do any of these things. They were in awe and very amazed in my water manipulation. It made me feel great about myself. In a few seconds after the dolphin was dancing some more, the water spilt on the floor.
"That was so awesome!" one of her friends say to me.
"We haven't properly introduced ourselves," the other says. "I'm Cassiopeia. Most people call me Cass or Cassi though." Cass had long, black hair. Her style was kind of cool and grunge-looking, so I would've never expected her to be a giggly type of girl. She had a nose piercing too which was pretty cool, but she's obviously not as badass as her appearance.
"I'm Auriga," the other girl said. Auriga had huge, curly brown hair. Even her bangs were curly. I liked it. It suited her melanin skin and I can tell her style was vintage. She had on vintage jean overalls with a green, orange, red, and yellow striped long sleeve shirt under it. I actually like her style.
I smirked. "Nice meeting you guys," I say geniunely. "But i have to finish shopping for food now." I gestured my thumb to behind me.
Auriga nodded. "It was nice meeting you too, Scorpio. Oh! Can I have your number?" Isn't she bold.
"Me too," Lyra asked, and I can guess that Cass wanted my number as well.
I saved my number in all of their phones. Once I gave them all back, the girls wave me bye and left. I smirked. I was actually meeting new people. New improved Scorpio from now on trying to be more social. Key word: trying.
The puddle of water was still by my feet from the trick I did. I try doing something else with the water and focused hard, but nothing happened. Why the hell won't it work? I stood there looking at the lifeless puddle. I need to do more practice.
