Chapter 6: Forbidden fruit.
"Today the nation mourns." Captain America said on live TV (joined by Iron Man and Thor). "A small American town was devastated by someone who was supposed to protect it. We have received word that Carol Danvers or as some of you may know her, Captain Marvel. Has for unknown reasons massacred the small town of Royal Woods Michigan, ending hundreds of innocent lives and costing millions in damage. Her rampage was finally put to an end when the brave men and women of S.H.E.I.L.D reluctantly opened fire upon her, ending the nightmare, as well as Captain Marvel's life. In wake of these events, I Steve Rogers, Also, known as Captain America do herby declare that The Avengers will no longer consider Carol Danvers as an Avenger or a hero. It is with great sorrow that I bring this news, but America will not stand for acts of terror, and neither will I."
"I for one, am both shocked and appalled." Thor added. "In all the years I've known Carol. I never would have suspected that she had this... this darkness in her. It's really it is quite disturbing."
"Sometimes you just really don't know someone as well as you think you do." Steve Rogers sighed.
"Honestly I'm not surprised at all." Iron man said bluntly. "I never liked her. She constantly stole my lunch from the breakroom fridge. Even when I had my name on it. I'd tell her, hey that's mine it has my name on it. She'd just shrug and keep eating. Clearly she's a psychopath."
...
Rita and Lynn Loud Sr. got home to the devastating news at what had happened. That Lincoln was attacked, and even worse, that Lucy had been killed by Captain Marvel (Or at least that's what the official reports say.)
Some of the sisters that day decided to stay home from school just to process what had happened
Not Lincoln though, he was on top of the world.
After seeing Lincoln go toe to toe with Earth's mightiest hero, Lincoln's fellow classmates worshipped him.
Some admired him. Some felt sorry for him after being "attacked" and some even feared him.
Lincoln sat at the lunch table with his usual friends.
"Hey, I hear Lucy died in that Don Juan's French Mex explosion." Clyde said. "I'm really sorry buddy."
"Yeah, It's hard losing someone you care about." Lincoln said, half telling the truth. Of course he would never tell anyone that he was responsible for Lucy's death, but he honestly did feel really bad about it.
"I heard Margo was killed too." Stella said. "Poor Lynn. I can't imagine losing both your best friend and your sister in one day."
"She's taking it pretty hard." Lincoln said. "She's staying home, I don't know when she'll be back in school."
"What was Lucy even doing at Don Juan's anyway." Liam asked.
"Eating French and Mexican food. Duh." Lincoln said.
Then the group was approached by one of Chandlers friends, Trent.
"Hey Lincoln." Trent said. "So um... I guess Chandler was one of the ones who was killed when Captain Marvel, you know, went crazy. I just... I know Chandler was kind of a dick, but... he wasn't that bad when you got to know him and... He didn't deserve to die. Just wanted to say thanks for sticking it to the one who killed him."
Lincoln gave Trent a blank look, sweat started pouring down his face.
"Ouch, even I felt that one." Venom said.
...
"Hey Lincoln." Rita greeted her son as he walked in the front door after school. "How was school."
"It was fine." Lincoln said.
"I am so sorry we weren't here for you in your darkest hour." Lynn Sr. said. "I promise, from now on, we will never leave you kids out of our sight."
"Don't worry dad. I can handle myself." Lincoln said. "How's Lynn holding up?"
"She's... She's been through a lot." Rita said.
"Can I see her?" Lincoln asked.
...
As Lincoln got to the top of the stairs Lori grabbed him and gave him the tightest hug she could.
"Oh Lincoln! I'm so sorry!" Lori cried. "I'm sorry, I almost got you killed."
"What are you talking about?" Lincoln asked.
Lori set Lincoln down and whipped her nose. "I... I... Nick Fury and Captain Marvel came to the house looking for you and... I told them where you were. I know I shouldn't have but... I always thought Captain Marvel was a hero, how was I supposed to know she would try to murder you?"
"Lori, it's ok, I'm not mad." Lincoln said.
"Well, I am a little bit irritated." Venom said.
"I'm going to see how Lynn is doing." Lincoln said.
Lincoln slowly opened the door to Lynn's room.
"Hey Lynn, you ok?" Lincoln whispered.
The room was dark, Lynn laid on her bed with her face in her pillow.
"Go away." Lynn moaned.
"Lynn, I'm worried about you." Lincoln said. It was Lincoln who had really killed Lucy. And in a round about way, the only reason Captain Marvel was in Royal woods in the first place was to hunt Lincoln and Venom. So it was also kind of his fault Margo died too. He wished he could fix this, but there was no undoing what was done.
"Hey Lincoln." Lisa barged in. "can I talk to you for a second?"
Lincoln turned back one more time to look at Lynn who was still laying silent on her bed.
Lincoln fallowed Lisa into her room where she had an MRI machine set up.
Where does she get all this equipment? Lincoln wondered to himself.
"In light of the unusual behavior I've noticed in you, and our recent tragedy." Lisa said. "I'd like to do an MRI on you."
"Uh Lincoln." Venom said. "Before you get in that Machine there's uh... something you really should know about me..."
Before Venom could finish Lincoln got into the MRI machine. He figured, what's the worst that could happen?
"GGGYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Lincoln screamed in pain once Lisa turned on the MRI.
"What's wrong?" Lisa asked.
"Get me the fuck out of here!' Lincoln yelled in anger getting out of the MRI machine. "And never fucking do that again. And seriously Lisa, who the fuck is paying for all this shit you use?"
Before Lisa could answer, Lincoln stormed out of the room.
He headed to the basement where he could be alone.
"What the hell was that?" Lincoln said once he got into the basement.
Venom's face materialized orbiting Lincoln's head.
"Well," Venom said. "Remember how I said Captain Marvel has weaknesses. Well, I uh... I have a few weaknesses of my own."
"What weaknesses?" Lincoln asked, his arms crossed.
"Mainly... really loud noises." Venom said. "Not like just someone screaming. It has to be a really loud noise. 4 to 6Khz to be exact."
"Anything else?"
"Fire. Fire can hurt me." Venom said.
"Fire?" Lincoln raised an eyebrow. "You're weak to fire? Gee you could have told me that before we fought a woman who literally shoots fire out of her hands."
"I TOLD YOU I HATE FIRE!!!" Venom snapped.
"Lincoln, are you talking to someone down there?" Lynn Sr. asked, opening the basement door.
"Un, no Dad." Lincoln said. Venom had disappeared just as the door opened. "Just watching Netflix on my phone."
...
Lory laid down on her bed starring at the ceiling.
"You know, Fiona says she was there." Leni said. "During the whole Captain Marvel thing..."
"Leni, I really don't want to talk about that right now." Lori said.
Lori's phone buzzed. She got a text.
"Who's that?" Leni asked.
"It's Carol." Lori said, looking at her phone.
"Gasp, Captain Marvel is texting you from the grave?" Leni said. "You don't think she wants to finish what she started do you? Wait, how did she get your number?"
Lori rolled her eyes. "No Leni, Not Carol Danvers, Carol Pingrey. My friend."
"Oh, that Carol." Leni said. "That makes way more sense."
The text simply read: "Lori, we need to talk, meet me at this address."
...
Lynn poked her head out of her room as Lincoln walked past.
"Hey Linc, can we talk?" Lynn asked.
"Sure Lynn, anything." Lincoln said.
Lincoln entered his older sister's room.
They bother sat on Lynn's bed together.
"It just... it feels so empty in here." Lynn said. She rested her head on her brother's shoulders. "Now that... now that Lucy's gone. And Margo. She, she was just... one second she was there, and the next, she was gone."
Lincoln wrapped his arm around his sister to comfort her. But as she was talking, a strange feeling came over him.
"I just... I wish I knew why." Lynn started softly crying. "Why my best friend, and my sister were taken from me."
Lincoln's grip tightened on Lynn's arm, and his mouth began to fill with drool.
I've never seen her so...Lincoln thought.
"Vulnerable." Venom finished his thoughts. "The most ideal prey for any predator is the weak and vulnerable."
I am not a predator. And I will not eat another one of my sisters Lincoln thought, praying that Lynn hadn't somehow obtained mind reading powers.
"Hey Linc' you wanna maybe, move into my room." Lynn asked. "I... I promise I won't bother you. I just don't want to be alone."
The next sentence seemed to jump out of Lincoln without his control. As if someone else was talking, but with his voice.
"Say, you wanna see the secret hideout Clyde and I have in the woods?" Lincoln asked. "Getting out of the house a bit is a good way to heal from trauma. At least that's what Clyde's therapist says."
Did I seriously just say that? Lincoln thought
"Sure, maybe later." Lynn said.
...
Lisa starred at Lincoln's MRI results on her monitor.
"This isn't good." She said to herself. "It seems something is in Lincoln's brain. Whatever it is, it's blocking the activity in his prefrontal cortex. If this gets any worse... I need to tell Lincoln and run more tests."
...
Lori arrived at the location Carol texted to her. It was a creepy abandoned warehouse. Lori entered with caution.
"Carol?" she called out into the darkness. "Why did you wanna meet here, this is literally one of the creepiest places in Royal Woods."
"Looking for someone." Lori heard a man's voice.
She tuned around to see Nick Fury step out of the shadows.
"Nick Fury?" Lori said. "What do you want? And why were you and Captain Marvel attacking my brother?"
Nick tossed a cell phone to Lori.
"This is Carol Pingrey's cell phone." Lori said. "What are you doing with Carol's Cell phone you creep? What did you do to her?"
"Maybe you should be asking your brother that." Nick said. "This cell phone was found in the sewer system of Royal Woods. It was covered in human feces."
"EW!!!" Lori screamed, dropping the phone to the ground.
"That phone was inside a human digestive tract." Nick said. "Specifically, your brother's digestive tract. His DNA was all over that shit."
"So, your saying Lincoln Ate Carol's phone?" Lori raised an eyebrow.
"I'm saying Lincoln at Carol." Nick responded.
"Yeah right." Lori said. "Lincoln is like half Carol's size."
"Not always." Nick said. "Your brother Lincoln has been infected."
"Infected by what?"
"An alien parasite that calls itself Venom." Nick said.
"An alien?" Lori raised her eyebrow.
"He's from a race called the Klyntar. Or as we like to call them, symbiotes." Nick explained. "They are organisms made of living fluid that need to bond to a host to survive. Once bonded the parasite can change the hosts body in many ways, most notably by turning them into a large predator. Or to the less educated, a big scary monster."
"That's a little hard to believe." Lori said.
"Your town was just leveled by a superhuman who can fly and shoot fire from her fingertips." Nick Fury reminded her. "And Captain Marvel didn't listen to my warnings about Venom and paid the ultimate price for it. I'd hoped you would not make the same mistake."
"So what?" Lori said. "You want me to let you literally kill my own little brother, to what? Kill some alien blob monster that's supposedly living inside of him?"
"Not at all." Nick Fury said. "It's possible to separate a Symbiote like Venom from its host without harming the host."
"You mean get rid of Venom without hurting Lincoln?" Lori said.
"Symbiotes have 2 weaknesses." Nick Fury said. "Fire, and sound. But not just any sound, it needs to be loud, very loud."
"Should probably talk to Luna about that." Lori mumbled under her breath.
"What was that?" Nick said.
"I said you should talk to my sister Luna about that." Lori said. "If you want loud noises that is. Luna's a musician."
"Well good. Call her up and tell her to get her ass over here." Nick Fury said. "The fate of the world and you brother's life is at stake here. If we don't act soon, your brother could completely lose control, and the line were Lincoln ends, and Venom begins will get thinner and thinner until it is erased."
"Uh, yeah no." Lori said. "You're like super creepy, and you don't even have any proof that this symbiote thing even exists. I don't want you anywhere near my family." Lori walked out in a huff.
"Just be glad it's not the other one!" Nick called out. "If it was, you'd all be dead already."
...
Lincoln sat in his room starring at the floor. He had no idea what to do. Was he starting to lose control? If Venom can control the very words coming out of Lincoln' mouth, even in human form how could Lincoln tell the difference between his own thoughts and Venom.
Not being able to trust those around you is one thing, but not even being able to trust yourself? Your own thoughts? That was Hell.
"I'm not good at this family bonding stuff." Venom said. "My people don't view our offspring or siblings the way yours do. When we reproduce it is customary on my planet to distance yourself as much from your offspring as possible. We view the love between parent and offspring to be unnatural. I'd like to change; I'd like to know what it feels like to be part of a family."
"Then why don't you just have a kid of your own?" Lincoln asked. "Make your own family and leave me alone."
"I already do have a son." Venom admitted. "But if you ever met him, you'd know why I hate him. If you think I'm bad, my son is Hell on earth."
"Your weakness is sound." Lincoln said. "I would very much like to stick my head in front of an amplifier at full volume. But something tells me you wouldn't let that happen. You'd control my body, my mind, to keep yourself safe and fed. You act like you wanna be part of my family. But I'm not family to you, I'm your host, and you're just a parasite."
Lincoln's phone rang.
It was his friend Ronnie Anne calling for a video chat.
Lincoln answered his phone, Ronnie Anne's face appeared on the screen.
"Hey Lincoln." Ronnie Anne said with a smile. "I heard there was some disaster in Royal Woods. Like one of the Avengers went mad or something."
"Captain Marvel." Lincoln said. "I don't exactly know what happened..."
"Are you ok? Was anyone hurt?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"NO, SHE DOES NOT LOOK DELICIOUS!!!!" Lincoln yelled at seemingly no one.
"Are you ok dude?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"Uh yeah, I'm fine." Lincoln said. "I have absolutely no parasites swimming in my brain at all."
"Parasites?" Ronnie Anne said. "Lincoln are sure you're, ok?"
"Sorry Ronnie Anne." Lincoln said. "I'm kind of going through a lot right now. Can we do this some other time?"
He hung up.
He walked out the door and a pale of water fell on his head, soaking him from head to foot.
"Paled it!" Luan laughed at her annoyed brother.
Lincoln glared at her.
"Oh, come on Linc, it was just a prank." Luan said.
Lincoln grabbed her by the collar and yanked her into his room. There he slammed her against the back wall and pressed his forearm against her throat.
"Do you really think this is the best time to be pranking me?" Lincoln asked.
"Lincoln! You're hurting me!" Luan choked out.
"What is your problem anyway?" Lincoln said, tightening his grip. "The pranks, the dumbass jokes. You do know everyone hates you right?"
"What?"
"Nobody likes you Luan." Lincoln repeated. "you're an unfunny comedian and a menace to the rest of the family. We'd all be better off if you would just drop dead. Now leave me the fuck alone, and the next time you prank me, you'll wish you'd never been born."
Lincoln let his older sister go.
Luan's eyes filled with tears. Lincoln left his room before Luan burst out crying.
Lisa emerged from her room as Lincoln passed her. "Lincoln, we need to talk."
"NO!" Lincoln snapped. "I am not going to be the subject of anymore of your gross or painful experiments. Do you get off on this? Using your own family as guinea pigs? Here's a little tip for you Lis' next time you need a guinea pig. BUY AN ACTUAL FUCKING GUINEA PIG!!!! AS IN A NON-HUMAN RODENT!!!!!!"
"It's worse than I thought." Lisa said.
"Hey, Lincoln is everything ok here?" Lynn poked her head out of her room.
"Oh, everything is just fucking peachy." Lincoln said.
"Hey, so you wanted to show me that hideout you and Clyde have." Lynn said, taking her brother by the arm. Clearly something was wrong with Lincoln. Lynn figured it was best to get him out of the house and try to calm him down.
"Yeah, I don't think..." Lincoln started.
"Come on bro, you need some fresh air." Lynn said walking Lincoln down the stairs.
"Lynn wait!" Lisa said. "Don't go with him."
It was too late, the pair had already walked out the front door.
"He's not even Lincoln anymore." Lisa said.
Lisa walked back into her room.
"Oh, this is bad." Lisa said.
"Poo, Poo?" Lilly said from her crib.
"Lincoln's test results show something is blocking signals from his prefrontal cortex." Lisa said. "And it is clearly affecting his behavior."
...
Luan laid face down crying into her pillow, as Luna tried to comfort her.
"He actually said that to you?" Luna said. "That is so uncool dude! It's also so unlike him."
"I know it was wrong of me to prank hm after what he's been through." Luan said. "I just thought some comedy might cheer him up. How could I think that would cheer him up? I'm so stupid."
"Well, yeah Pranking Lincoln after was almost killed by an Avenger gone mad, and then Lucy actually being killed by said Avenger, may not have been the best idea." Luna admitted. "But telling you to drop dead is crossing a line. And if he's going to be telling his own sisters they'd be better off dead then... then... THEN HE'S NO LONGER MY BROTHER!"
"That statement may be more correct than you realize." Lisa barged into the room.
"So, you heard what Lincoln said too, huh?" Luna said. "That was so messed up!"
"I actually wanted to talk to you about that." Lisa pushed her glasses up her nose. "I did an MRI on Lincoln earlier today. And, before he becomes a pariah, I wanted to let you know that what Lincoln said, may not have actually been Lincoln saying it himself."
"What are you getting at bra." Luna scowled.
"I believe Lincoln has a parasite." Lisa explained.
"What kind of parasite?" Luan shot back. "A jerk-worm? An asshole flee? Or how about Toxoplasma GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!!!!"
"Is it a candiru fish?" Luna said
"A what?" Luan asked.
"It's a parasitic fish that swims up a man's... let's just say it can make any man cranky." Luna said.
"It's something I've never seen before." Lisa said, pulling out images of Lincoln's brain. "It's some sort of mass in his brain, I would have said it was a tumor, but it seems to be moving. But whatever it is, it's cutting signals from his brain. Mainly the kind of signals that would make him feel things like empathy. I fear it could be controlling his mind."
"Like some sort of body snatcher?" Luna raised an eyebrow.
"We need to get together a family meeting." Lisa said. "And get a hold of Lynn before she winds up alone with Lincoln, or whatever it is that's controlling Lincoln."
...
"Look Stincoln, now I thought I was handling Lucy's death badly but..." Lynn said as her and Lincoln walked through the woods.
The cool Autumn breeze blew past the siblings, rustling the leaves at their feet.
Lynn had put on a thick red sweater to keep warm. Lincoln wore a black leather jacket with a faux fur lining, over his usual orange t-shirt.
Lincoln was trying harder than ever to yell out "RUN LYNN! I'm not me anymore, I'm going to hurt you and I can't do anything about it. Run while you still can!" but his mouth would not open. He just kept walking in silence.
He looked at Lynn. He eyed her up and down and imagined what her body would feel like sliding down his throat, what her delicate yet firm flesh would taste like when his teeth sunk into her. He could feel himself starting to drool as though he were watching a fresh stake getting cooked on the grill.
He shook his head trying to shake away those sick thoughts.
This is a human being, your own sister. Lincoln thought to himself, trying to fight the cannibalistic urges rising in him as they got closer to his lair.
"I heard what you said to Luan." Lynn said. "I know you've been through a lot, but we all have. And going through trauma doesn't give you the right to tell your own siblings they'd be better off dead."
Lincoln said nothing.
"Look I'm not mad at." Lynn said in a calm voice. "I know you didn't mean what you said, and I know what you're going through."
"No, I don't think you do." Lincoln said through clenched teeth.
"I miss Lucy too." Lynn said. "And I saw my best friend get blown up in front of my eyes and..." She sighed. "Thanks for inviting me out here Lincoln. I think this has been good for both of us. Fresh air, and some time to just talk about our problems."
"We're here." Lincoln said in an emotionless voice as they reached the mouth of a cave that was covered by a large bolder.
"Hey, you ok Lincoln?" Lynn said with a nervous laugh, sensing something was wrong. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you've been turned into a zombie."
Lincoln effortlessly moved the large bolder, blocking the entrance to the cave with only one hand.
"Whoa bro!" Lynn said. "Have you been working out, that was amazing."
"Please, come in." Lincoln said. He lifted his hand to the open cave. His face was void of any expression.
"Ok, zombie boy." Lynn joked as she entered the cave. "It's a dark in here, didn't you guys put in any..."
Lynn turned on a lamp next to her, illuminating the horrors inside the cave.
It looked like it was once a simple hangout spot for two young boys. Bean bag chairs, a rug, a table with snack etc. however, strands of thick, slimy, black webbing filled the cave. The webs tuck from floor to ceiling and tangled together forming what looked like the nest of a giant spider.
"Lights?" Lynn said.
She turned around to see Lincoln standing at the mouth of the cave with that same unsettling emotionless face.
"Do you like what I've done with the place." Lincoln said in a monotoned voice that would even give Lucy the chills.
"Uh, yeah..." Lynn said, beads of sweat flowing down her face. Her heart was pounding out of her chest. "It's very um... nightmare chic."
"Run Lynn!" Lincoln said in a voice that sounded like was being strangled. "Run now, while you still can."
"Uh, what's going on here?" Lynn asked, slowly backing away from Lincoln, but deeper into his nest.
"I don't want to hurt you," Lincoln choked out. "I'm trying to hold him back but... YOU JUST LOOK SO DELICIOUS." His voice suddenly became deep and almost demonic.
"I'm sorry, but did you just call me delicious?" Lynn said, before tripping and falling back into the black webs.
Lynn struggled to get free of the sticky black webbing as Lincoln inched closer and closer.
Lincoln's face and arms twisted and contorted to painful positions. Black veins spread across his face and hands.
"What's happening to you?!?!" Lynn shrieked in terror.
Lincoln's mouth pealed back into a twisted grin. His teeth grew into sharp fangs.
"Are you a werewolf?" Lynn asked.
"Werewolves wish they were us." Lincoln said in that demonic voice.
Black slime formed over Lincoln's body as he grew bogger and bigger. Finally, the black slime engulfed Lincoln's head to create Venom's hideous grinning face.
Venom moved in closed so that Lynn could feel his hot stinky breath on her face.
"We, are Venom." Venom growled.
Lynn did the only thing she could do and screamed at the top of her lungs.
Venom snatched the young girl up in his muscular clawed hand. He lifted her up and opened his tooth filled mouth.
Venom's tongue slithered from his teeth and smeared itself all over Lynn's face.
"No, please don't do this Lincoln!" Lynn begged. "I don't wanna die!"
Venom started to stuff Lynn headfirst into his mouth. Lynn gagged at the hot breath hitting her face as she was squeezed into the beasts soft squishy gullet.
Venom bit down, his dagger-like teeth sinking into Lynn's flesh. His slimy tongue wrapped around her legs and began to slowly pull her further in.
Venom grinned as he enjoyed his helpless meal.
"I used to give you piggyback rides." Lynn whimpered as she sobbed. "We used to play catch together. I... I loved you... you were my baby brother."
Venom stopped swallowing for a few moments. Then he hacked Lynn back up and she landed on the group with a plop.
Lynn moaned as she got back to her feet. "Oh man... ugh..." she looked around with a confused look on her face. "I... I'm alive?"
Venom's face pealed back revealing Lincoln's face underneath. "Get out of hear Lynn!" Lincoln yelled.
Lynn ran for the exit as fast as she could.
Venom's face folded back over Lincoln's, and he ran after Lynn.
...
Lynn ran through the woods faster than she had ever run in her life. Her heart raced and her adrenaline pumped.
She could hear that indescribable monster bounding behind her.
Ka-thump, ka-thump.
Venom shot out webs to swing through the trees and land in front of Lynn.
Lynn shrieked and ducked to the side.
She again ran at top speed and saw Tall Timber's Pond in front of her.
"Bet you can't swim!" Lynn taunted. She ran to the end of the nearest dock and dove into the water.
"Swim?" Venom said. "Hell, we can even breath under water."
"Oh, crud" Lynn said treading water.
Venom did a cannon ball into the water creating a tidal wave that pushed Lynn further into the lake.
A young couple, in their late teens were on a romantic canoe ride in Tall Timber's pond when Lynn suddenly burst up from beneath the waves and climbed on board screaming in panic.
"Gah, what the hell dude." The man said.
"This is a brand-new cashmere sweater." The woman yelled in anger.
"I know you guys won't believe me but there's a..." Lynn said, trying to balance in the canoe.
Then a black tentacle rose from the water and wrapped around the young man, hoisting him into the air.
"It's the kraken!" the young man yelled before being swiftly yanked below the waves.
"Ew gross!" The young woman complained as another black tentacle wrapped around her waist and pulled her down to join her boyfriend.
"Oh no!" Lynn said as the waters below the boat became red with blood.
Lynn took the paddle and rowed as fast as she could.
The water rose and a wake formed as Venom swam just under the surface of the water.
...
The Loud family, aside from Lincoln and Lynn Jr. sat in the living room as Lisa explained what she had found in Lincoln's MRI scan.
"He really does have a parasite?" Lori said.
"Well, that better be what's going on." Rita said. "Because if you're wrong, and it wasn't a parasite making Lincoln say those horrible things to Luan. Then he'll be grounded for a year!"
"A parasite?" Lynn Sr. said. "Is it a candiru fish?"
"A kangaroo fish?" Leni said.
"So that creepy Fury guy was right." Lori said. "Lincoln's being controlled by an alien. Then that's why Captain Marvel was hunting him... It all makes sense now, in a sort of nonsensical crazy way."
Then the door swung open and Lynn Jr, barged in.
She was soaked from head to toe. The sweater she was wearing was torn in the front and the back as though some sort of bear had mauled her. She had her usual red and white jersey on underneath her sweater and that too was clawed to hell. Blood trickled from the scratch wounds on her back and bite marks along her body. Her soaking wet hair was massy and full of leaves and sticks.
She had a terrified look in her face and she was breathing fast and heavy.
Blood and water dripped from her body to the floor.
"Lincoln's turned into a monster!" Lynn said.
Just then the door behind her burst from its hinges as though it was hit with a rocket and flew into the living room.
Lynn ducked just in time to dodge the flying door.
In the gaping hole that was once a doorway stood Lincoln.
With a dark piercing look, Lincoln looked at Lynn, then the rest of his family.
"Well." Lincoln said. "Looks like the cat's out of the bag."
He shot a strand of black webs from his hand that stuck to Lynn's mouth. He then yanked his sister to the ground.
Then to the family's shock and horror, Lincoln transformed into Venom.
The family shrieked as Venom let out a terrifying roar.
"Ok, that is definitely not a kangaroo fish."Leni said.
