Chapter 71: Lunar Eclipse

“Jimin… so what you're trying to say is, Chief Wu is going to keep them up there? But how? He can't do that…” Namjoon replied and tilted his head. “There's no way he would do something like that. He would get arrested and I know for sure he isn't that stupid to do something like that.” Added the older as Jimin began to rethink his assumption. “Surely… You're thinking too hard into this. I believe you, Jimin… I really do, but don't you think we need harder evidence other than his off behavior.

             “I…I don't understand…”

“Jimin, listen to me.” Namjoon claimed and sat up to look at the young man over the opposite couch. “Even if there could be a chance he's hiding something big, we need to dig in deep. He's a very closed off guy and his behavior was suspicious tonight… Why did he have the need to take you home? Did he want to separate you from Jungkook?”

“No. I was done talking to him before he came in to check up on me. Maybe, he didn't want me to stay in the facility longer.”

“Then, he has to be hiding something within the facility. He never lets anyone in his office but himself and he spends the whole day in there collecting dust. What's so special about a little office?” Namjoon brainstormed and made Jimin raise his brow in question. “What else did he bring up in the car?”

“He brought up so much things. The fact that I survived an earth year in space and kept linking it to the possibilities Taehyung and Jungkook might have if they went for two years. He kept saying I didn't die and I came out alright. But that only made me nervous.” Mentioned the man. To Namjoon, he felt as if he was piecing together a puzzle, but he only wondered, what was the bigger picture?

“Alright, I think we're getting somewhere. He seems shady; Although… We need something big that would really get him. I believe you Jimin, but I'm not sure if anyone else would just believe these words. Until then, don't mess with him. Don't try to take things into your own hands. I don't want you to do such a thing until you find an opening. Do you understand? If you try to do something, he'll catch us and if he is what we say he is, then I'll tell you what we should do by there.” Namjoon advised, but Jimin felt wrong hiding something like this. For the first time, Jimin felt like he shouldn't hide something that bothered him. Especially if Jungkook and Taehyung’s lives were potentially on the line.

“Stay silent about it…” Jimin thought in his head and let out a sigh right after. The same night, Jimin laid in his own room with Namjoon sharing the same bed as him. The young man had no yellow planet to look up at nor a B248 sculpture hovering over his own head to make him feel safe. All he had above his head was a roof and nothing more. Jimin turned to the side where his eyes fell onto the face of the older laying by him. It felt odd to share the same bed with a married man that was also his ex. Namjoon chose to spend the night with Jimin to keep him safe, but Jimin knew how Namjoon connected the stars. The older just didn't want to go home and Jimin found that out by counting the stars Namjoon outlined.

Together, they laid in bed together for the first time in a long time. Just like a Lunar eclipse; occuring only when the sun, moon, and earth were close by with the earth at the center. Jimin was the sun, Namjoon was the moon, and their past relationship stood between them like the earth itself. As Jimin laid there, he kept his eyes locked onto Namjoon before turning his gaze to look at the pictures of Jungkook's astronaut wall. Just against the wall at the very center, was two pictures of Jimin, Jungkook placed himself at the very start. Even before meeting Jimin, Jungkook has always placed his wondrous star at the center of his own universe.

“I can't hide this… If I need to find harder evidence, I'll do it on my own.” Jimin thought in his head before turning to face the opposite direction of the room. Facing away from Namjoon and the threads over the ceiling walls where the sculptures of the Planet JM-95 and the B248, hung before. Jimin had plans of going in on this alone since it was no secret Namjoon wanted to keep silent about it. Jimin just couldn't hide this anymore and began to plan something out in his own head. Of course, all of this led him into sneaking into the elder's office on his own time to find evidence that could lead him to the truth.

Back in space after a whole earth day, Jungkook was strapped to his own bed and gazed out the window in silence. He couldn't focus on anything but his Jimin. So far, he began to miss Jimin's lips, his smile and his touch. It bothered Jungkook that he was so far from him and only limited to the small snacks within the small bags for daily meals. To Jungkook, it didn't really bother him. The young stargazer would always close his own eyes while eating and imagine Jimin sitting right across him with a meal they've made together.

As Jungkook laid awake in the bright rocket with Taehyung strapped right next to him, Jungkook closed his eyes and turned his own head to the side to focus on the stars. “Jimin… These stars alone aligned for me to meet you, and they'll align for us to meet again soon, My beautiful Jimin. I'll await your kiss tomorrow and the day after that…” Jungkook thought to himself until he closed his own eyes to rest.

However, the young man couldn't get much rest. It was difficult for him to sleep strapped up to a bed against the wall. Taehyung seemed to be doing great but Jungkook; he just couldn't seem to keep his eyes shut. The young astronaut kept waking up any minute and flinching his head aside with every little thing that seemed to tick his own eyes open. The first rest seemed like a complete failure to the young man and only now, he began to feel helpless. “W-What's wrong with me? I should be asleep…” Jungkook said to himself before he caught the gaze of Taehyung's round eyes blinking awake. “I think… It's those sleeping pills… I've grown so used to those and this week was the last time I used them before coming on this mission.”

“Jungkook? Will you be okay?” Asked Taehyung and tilted his own head with a hint of worry. “I knew you shouldn't have used those sleeping pills… Look at you, you can't sleep at all!”

“I can see that, Taehyung… Ugh, I can't do this… I'll just wait until I get tired… Then I'll sleep.” Jungkook added. The younger tried to sleep on his own but that only made Taehyung feel bad for Jeon Jungkook. “I can't wait to find that stupid B248… Then I can go back home to Jimin… That's who I need right now..”

“Jungkook, you have me!” The older mentioned as Jungkook started to laugh with the man. “Ah, but really… Try to get some sleep, okay? I don't want you to lack sleep.” Jungkook heard Taehyung's warnings and followed by them, but his body didn't. He still felt awake each time he closed his eyes and that alone kept him awake even if his eyelids were closed shut. There was no point in sleeping at this moment, but the quick glance Jungkook took at the picture of Jimin against the wall inside the B400; made him try harder. “Do it for Jimin..” Urged Taehyung and kept his eyes locked onto the young man.

“For Jimin…” Jungkook repeated, letting out an exhale with his eyes closed shut. With all of this falling down on him in one week, it was obvious that now Jungkook was developing insomnia and Taehyung happened to catch it all. Just how much longer could he take on this mission before he drops?

By the next morning, Jimin opened his eyes to feel Namjoon's hands wrapped all around his body; arms locked over his shoulders and bodies nearly touching. On the other hand, Namjoon wasn't directly touching Jimin over his own skin. Namjoon hugged Jimin over the bed sheets, avoiding contact and having a pillow left in between their own bodies. Keeping them separated as always. This was done so Namjoon couldn't hold Jimin closer in a way that would leave Jimin freaking out. The older built limits to himself and respected them. But who knew how bad he wanted to hug Jimin to sleep? He stayed the night for the astronaut and just couldn't hug him close. So, he found a way to make it happen and this alone gave him a walk down memory lane when he was still with the young man years ago.

Jimin fixed his eyes onto the arms of his ex gently placed over his blanket and the pillow keeping them separated from actually touching. “What is he doing…?” Jimin asked himself in his own thoughts. “He's married… I have Jungkook… W-What are you doing?” Jimin panicked and suddenly moved out of the covers and away from Namjoon in seconds. Resulting in the older waking up himself. “N-Namjoon, let's go to work. We can't be late to see them on their second earth day in space.” The man spoke out in the slightest embarrassment and quickly adjusted the sweater he wore overnight.

“What…?” Namjoon's voice was rough in the morning and his hair was a mess. He was awaken as soon Jimin pulled away and he too felt embarrassed. Let alone, guilty as well. “Oh Jimin… I uh…” Namjoon sputtered and looked down before rolling his hair back and growing extremely shy over something he wanted to take back so badly. “I stayed over and I should have laid in another bed… Far from you… I-I can't contain myself. Ah, I feel so stupid.”

“Let's just… Focus on getting to work. It's okay.” Jimin answered and grabbed his own robe along with his other clothes to wear to work today. “I want to get there early to talk to Jungkook about a few things…” Jimin mentioned and glanced back to face Namjoon. “I think you should go home. Your wife must be worried about you… Go home and tell her where you've been.”

“Jimin… wait.” Namjoon spoke out once more as his voice trembled to speak any further. “Please… Don't tell Jungkook… I just wanted to feel how I've felt before with you. I feel stupid and-”

“Stop, it's okay. My lips are sealed.” Jimin answered and kept his eyes locked onto Namjoon. “Even if we were together years back… I didn't expect you to get over me so quickly and marry someone else. It's okay. I understand. I won't tell Jungkook anything about what happened here. Friends hug all the time anyways.” Words like that echoing into Namjoon's head was more of a wake-up call to him. He noticed how bad this seemed and couldn't help but to think how bad he just wanted Jimin for that very moment. Namjoon was married and the man alone loved his wife very much. Alas, there was always a spot that grew weak for Jimin at times like these. Times where he'd find Jimin and himself in a Lunar Eclipse.
