Chapter 30: Faded craters

Jungkook kept kissing Jimin along the lips as he sat the older over the kitchen counters. Jimin was beautiful and his soft hums in between the kisses made Jungkook even pull back to then kiss Jimin once more, reuniting the smiles on their faces into the gleeful kiss the two of them waited for after so long. “Mine…” Jungkook whispered in between the kiss, calling Jimin his as he then rose his hands up Jimin's small waist and under his shirt. Feeling every crease and firm outline of the knobs on Jimin’s spine.

The boy continued to touch Jimin's skin along his back into the kiss. Making Jimin only blush and his face grow hot until it rose temperature from the feeling. “M-Mr. Jeon… I like you…” Jimin repeated those same words he told Jungkook a week prior to this very moment.

“I know… I like you too…” Jungkook responded and pressed his head against Jimin's forehead after they were done kissing. “Would you like to be mine, Mochi? Please say yes…” Proposed the boy and cupped Jimin's face into his own hands during the time Jimin was softly huffing from their makeout session.

“I want to… I do. But, aren't you rushing into things, Jungkook?” Jimin whispered. Jungkook noted the tone of seriousness in Jimin's gentle voice since he called Jungkook other than ‘Mr. Jeon' like before. “I don't want you to… feel like I'm pressuring you. Jungkook, take your time… We already have eternity.”

“I don't care, Jimin. I want you now. I don't want to wait for us… If I want you, I don't want to wait for you. We'll be together now and have forever. I don't want to wait forever and have never left right after. I… I don't want to wait.” Jungkook whispered and pressed his head against Jimin's shoulder to let out an exhale. “Park Jimin… Will you be my boyfriend?”

“Y-Yes. I will, Jungkook.” Jimin replied and hugged Jungkook's body close towards his own body and grew happy with only smiles appearing over his face. “If you don't want to wait, I trust you. If you don't feel broken after what happened in the morning, I trust you. I trust… you to come to me and talk whenever you feel down. I'll do what you'd do for...me.” Spoke the man to the younger to show how far he'll go to comfort Jungkook whenever he needs him.

“Thank you, Jimin. You're everything I could ever ask for…” Jungkook whispered, leaning in to give his first boyfriend a quick peck against his his soft lips that turned red along with his. “My first boyfriend… Park Jimin. Oh it just sounds so perfect to me, Mochi.” Jungkook chuckled and picked up a nearby, clean, blue cloth to wipe the flour off Jimin's face. “You're perfect.”

“You're making me blush, Mr... Jeon!” Jimin giggled and shoved the boy back, but then Jungkook quickly pulled Jimin by the hands and intertwined with them. “Let's bake the cookies and stop… flirting and… playing around.”

“If my Mochi says so~” Jungkook whispered to the older's ear. Just then, rain began to pour from the skies and a thunder clash could be heard from afar. “I hope the power doesn't go off, I really think we should watch that show together. Maybe it can change your mind about leaving the K.S.C.U.” Suggested the astronomer, but Jimin only sighed at the thought of it. The boy then reached out for a paper towel and turned on the kitchen sink so he could wet it and begin wiping the white powder off of Jimin's chubby face. “Maybe?”

“Maybe…” Jimin replied and watched how his boyfriend began to wipe the older's face and look into his eyes. Just those guilt tripping, glistening, big, and round eyes fixed onto Jimin, like he wanted to agree going back to the facility; noting that doing so could just wreck him emotionally. Especially when Taehyung was still at the unit, living everyday like he normally would. Not even caring enough to check on Jimin or fix anything between them.

“Mochi, you may not want anything to do with the K.S.C.U, but you're doing so great right now. It would be amazing if you could come back with me and we can work together!”

“Mr. Jeon, I'm an… Astronaut. Not an astronomer… we won't work together. Just in the same facility. Then...they'll make me carry out other missions and I'll suffer again. I'll have to train, I'll have to-

“You have a PhD, you can be an astronomer with me. I'm working on getting that degree, so I'm not given much to work with. But when I do, I'll be able to conduct my own projects like Namjoon. Honestly, all you needed was a bachelor's degree in physical science or computer science. There's more to it, but-”

“No. To be an astronaut took too long for me. I can't just switch my… role. I had to learn how to cooperate with the B248’s machines. It's so tough and when I get… back… I have to go into training so they can throw me up into space once again!” Jimin panicked and let out a sigh. “Do you… want me to stay there…?”

“Ah, I won't try to make you do something you don't want. I'm sorry.” Jungkook whispered to his boyfriend and gave Jimin a peck over the forehead. Doing all of this made him feel a little off; just today he and Lee-Young ended their two-year relationship and now, he started his with Jimin. It didn't seemed rushed to the stargazer, in fact, he believed Jimin was a perfect man to share his life with. So, there was no waiting between them now.

Later, the two made cookie dough with chocolate chips sprinkled within the bowl they made it with. Jungkook stood behind Jimin and had his arms wrapped around the older as Jimin set the chocolate chip cookies over the steel tray after spraying it so the cookies wouldn't stick to the base. Outside was pouring with rain beating against the windows of the couple's home as Jimin giggled while setting the trays into the oven. Even then, Jungkook still back hugged Jimin and gripped onto his waist when the older bent over to set the trays in.

“Mochi, do you like this position?~” Jungkook suddenly asked and pressed his hips against Jimin's rear with a smirk over his face. Just after, Jimin slowly turned his head to the side and looked up at Jungkook's big smile. The boy had his hands over Jimin's hips to press his own against Jimin's perfectly rounded ass to tease him. “I sure do-”

“I have a better...kookie to throw into this oven.” Jimin giggled as Jungkook then moved from Jimin's hips and crouched in front of the oven to adjust the trays before rubbing noses with his boyfriend. “Do you… want to watch the rain with me instead? We could listen to it and hug each other close. I know you wouldn't want to watch the show with me, but that's okay.” Jungkook questioned as Jimin let out a giggle and nodded his head. “Yes? Alright I'll go take a shower and then change out of these clothes.” Assured the boy as Jimin closed the oven and turned the oven on to bake the cookies.

“I'll wash up after you.” Jimin stated, sitting patiently in front of the oven as Jungkook took one more glance at Jimin before walking to his room.

By there, Jungkook walked down the hall of his house and then reached his own room. Everything seemed fine and his face carried a smile, but as soon as he stepped in, he closed it and locked eyes with the many pictures of Lee-Young scattered in the picture frames of his own room. The boy then sobbed and desperately tried to dry his own tears, but he just couldn't. The tears were endless and that small part of him that still loved her, suffered while the other side of him was left blank faced because that side cared about Jimin more. Those tears began to race down his pale cheeks like the rain outside and the wounds of her words uttering that she wanted to break up; were like faded craters to his soul. Just like the moon had it's craters, Jungkook had faded ones sewn into his heart as well.

“I-I hate…you…” Jungkook cried to himself as he then walked over to the picture frame of him and Lee-Young; hugging each other close and pressing the sides of their faces together. “I hate you. S-So much…” Jungkook cried and only then, he grabbed one of the picture frames before tossing it against the walls of his own bedroom. “I've wasted… I'VE WASTED TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE FOR NOTHING!” The boy cried and frustratingly gripped onto his own, dark silk, hair from the pain he bottled in so Jimin wouldn't see this side of him. “I'm losing… my fucking mind…” Hissed the boy as he snatched other unframed pictures of Lee-Young and crumbled them up as his teeth gritted. “I hate you. How could you look me in the eyes and tell me to break it off like that?!” Jungkook screamed in his own head as he then began to tear up the pictures he shared kisses with his ex on there.

Meanwhile, Jimin heard every shout and cry. He knew Jungkook wasn't going to last and hide his pain for that long. As the thunder roared outside and rain beated down onto the glass of the windows, Jimin was sitting there and staring at the oven. He knew he shouldn't interrupt with the young boy until Jungkook asks for help. So, there the older sat, having to endure the boy sobbing from the pain he bottled up ever since the early morning. The skies outside were grey, matching with the atmosphere around Jungkook; glum and depressing.

“I shouldn't interfere with him…” Jimin whispered to himself and only locked his gaze onto the batch of cookies set to bake within the oven. “I just need to wait here and…” Jimin spoke but cut himself off as he then got up and took off his apron within seconds. “Fuck it…” The man whispered to himself before setting the minutes on a small, white, plastic timer over the counter. Jimin set the appropriate minutes into the timer and carried it with him so he wouldn't forget to take the cookies out of the oven in time.

Jimin walked with the timer within the small clutches of his hands and heard Jungkook's sobs and soft whispers he told himself. At that moment, Jimin learned that someone as strong as Jungkook had his falls time to time and needed someone more than ever to rely on. Jungkook looked strong, but deep down, he was just like any other person out there. He had his downfalls at times and this was it. Jimin nervously pressed his forehead against the door and turned the doorknob to open the door. As soon as he did, his eyes glided across the room to where Jungkook was already in his own bed; crying and cupping his own face as the bed sheets covered his shoulders and everything below it.

“Mr. Jeon…” Jimin spoke softly as Jungkook suddenly hitched his sobs to stay silent. “It's okay… I'm here…” Jimin assured as the boy was left to glare at the wall he threw Lee-Young's glassed frame against. “Please talk to me… I'm your boyfriend, Jungkook. You should tell me about these things… when they… bother you…” The tone to Jimin's voice was soft and soothing to his boyfriend as he then approached the bed. “Jungkook… Talk to me… Your Mochi…”

“I don't want you to see me like this, Jimin… Please...” Jungkook whispered into a shaky, and breathless whisper. “Don't come any closer… I don't want you to see the many craters this moon holds.”

“I'm looking at you anyways. I think it's normal for you to go through this. You've been… with her for two years. I wasn't… expecting you to get over her that quickly.” The older astronaut continued and only then, he crawled onto the bed and moved Jungkook's covers aside. Joining the boy whether he liked it or not. By there, Jimin set the timer over the nightstand before moving in closer to then hug his boyfriend. “Talk to me…”

Abruptly, Jungkook turned around to hug Jimin in his arms once he got closer. In Jungkook's arms, Jimin felt the wet tears seep through his white T-shirt from the breakup that had it's delayed effect, weigh into Jungkook's emotions within seconds after seeing a picture of Lee-Young. “J-Just… Just stay here… Forever with me… I'll give you whatever I can. My patience… My love… All so you wouldn't leave me. I can't lose you, Jimin. I'd rather lose the stars that outline the constellation, I'd rather lose the gravity that holds these planets together, I'd rather lose my love for the stars if it makes you stay with me for many years t-to come. My Mochi…” Jungkook bawled softly against Jimin's shoulder as Jimin began to tear up silently to himself. Seeing his own boyfriend hurt like this, made Jimin close his eyes and focus on listening to Jungkook no matter how deep those faded craters looked within his own heart.
