I walked through the front door, exhausted from school and it was only the first day back.

I went straight for the refrigerator instead of going upstairs to put my school stuff down and change out of my school clothes. I was hungry and a slice of pizza, orange juice, and a fruit cup from lunch didn't do a thing for me.

I opened the fridge and seen that it was empty. I closed it went to the pantry and opened it but that was empty as well.

I kissed my teeth and jogged upstairs. I walked down to the end of the hall way where my mom's room was located and knocked lightly.

I got no response so I knocked a little harder.

"Mom, im hungry and there's no food in here. When are you going to go grocery shopping?"

Still no response.

I twisted the door knob and pushed her room door open lightly. It was dark in her room and I could only see her figure sprawled out over the bed.

"Mom?"

I flicked on the light and seen my mom laying there lifeless with an empty pill bottle next to her stiff body. I dropped my bookbag and ran over by her side.

There was a letter laying on her pillow as well and it had my dad's name at the top of it, followed along with a small paragraph.

I quickly grabbed it and read over it.

Stephen,

If you read this letter I want you to know that I love you very much as well as our two girls. I found out about your new fiance and i'm truthfully hurt. You had been messing with this girl for a whole year during our marriage. I can't sleep, eat or think straight because of you. You tore this whole family apart, we are nothing without you. I couldn't do this much longer, I was so lost. I can't bare this pain.

If I don't make it, take good care of Indya and Asia. I love you and I love them.

As tears streamed down my face, I threw the letter to the side and grabbed my mom, hoping that she was still alive.

"Mom, no! You can't do this!" I sobbed holding her still body in my arms.

"No please... Indya!!! Help! Somebody help!" I sobbed some more.

"Asia!" I heard Indya's voice say.

I opened my eyes and looked around before realizing I was in a waiting room at the hospital. I sat up straight and seen Indya and Jahseh heading over towards me.

Indya came and hugged me while Jahseh stood there with a concerned look on his face.

"What happened?" Indya asked pulling away from the hug and taking a seat next to me.

"I don't know. I walked in her room and seen her sprawled out on the bed with a empty pill bottle and a letter next to her" I said.

"What did the letter say?" Jahseh asked.

"Something about her finding out dad had a fiancé while they were married and not being able to do this without him" I explained.

"Oh my god. Is she okay?" Indya asked as her eyes started tearing up.

"I don't know. I've been sitting here for hours, no one came out here to talk to me yet"

"Im about to go see what the fuck is going on" Indya said getting up.

She stormed off to the ladies at the desk with Jahseh behind her.

I sighed and slouched back down in the chair. My phone vibrated in my pocket so I pulled it out. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody so I was gonna turn it off.

Stokeley💗- did I do something wrong? 4:09 p.m

Stokeley💗- yo pick up the phone 4:40 p.m

I sighed and chose to text him back. I didn't want him to feel like I was ignoring him or he had done something bad. So I shot him a simple text.

I'm at the hospital 5:33 p.m

Stokeley💗- why? you okay? 5:33 p.m

Stokeley💗- omw 5:34 p.m

I turned my phone off and watched as Indya yelled at the receptionist.

This was all my fault.

Not more than 10 minutes later, Stokeley walked in. He looked worried, but then when he seen me his face showed a sign of relief . He came and sat next to me looking confused.

"Whats going on? I thought you were hurt" He said.

"My mom tried to kill herself. She overdosed on a whole bottle of sleeping pills" I spoke lowly.

"Damn. Is she gonna be okay?" He asked.

"Thats what we're trying to figure out" I said looking over at Indya.

Stokeley looked over at her as well.

"Tell me where the fuck my mom is and tell me if she's okay!" Indya screamed at the lady.

"Ma'am, we told you already, go have a seat in our waiting area and we will let you know as soon as we can" The lady spoke.

"NO FUCK THAT! My sister has been waiting up here for hours on yall dumb asses!!"

"Come on Indya, calm down" Jahseh said grabbing her.

My right leg was bouncing up and down uncontrollably because I was extremely worried and nervous.

I guess Stokeley noticed because he looked at me and put his hand on my knee, trying to keep me calm.

Another 2 hours went by and Antwan and Red had sat with us as we all waited.

A doctor with a clipboard walked in and looked around.

"Family of Grace Montgomery" He announced.

Indya quickly got up as well as I did. The doctor met us half way and stood in front of us.

"You are her.....?"

"Daughters" Indya answered.

"Okay sorry for the long wait, we had to run and couple of tests on Mrs.Montgomery's body. Everything is okay, we managed to clean the drugs out of her body and save her life before it was too late" He informed.

Indya and I let out a sigh of relief, happy that our mom wasn't taken away from us.

"When can we go see her?" I ask anxiously.

"Im afraid it wont be today. She's resting and trying recover off the pills. She is perfectly fine though. Come back tomorrow and you'll be able to see and speak to her. We will be keeping her here for 2 to 3 weeks, simply to make sure she is well and won't try to take her life away again" He said.

We nodded to everything he was saying.

"Now, is your father or her husband or anything around?" He asks.

We both hesitated on answering but Indya finally spoke up.

"No, he's not in our lives anymore " She said.

"Okay do you have a guardian or anyone at home while she's in with us?" He asks.

"Im 18." Indya says.

"Okay that's great. But check back in with us tomorrow" He said.

"Okay, thank you so much"

He smiled and walked off.

Indya looked at me and hugged me.

"Thank god she's okay" Indya said.

"I know. I don't think I could ever forgive dad after this. I hate him so much" I stated.

"Don't say that Asia. He's still our dad. Besides, he didn't force mom to try to take her life away. Its her fault, not his.

I stood there not believing Indya was actually taking up for his selfish ass.

"You know what Indya, you don't know half of the shit I know about dad. He's selfish for all the things he's did to us and mom. I honestly don't even know why I forgave him after what he did to me the first time. You're such a daddy's girl that you're blinded by the evil side of him" I said feeling my blood began to boil.

"What are you talking about? What do you mean after what he did to you the first time?" She asks confused.

I shake my head and bump past her.

"I'll have Stokeley take me home" I mumbled.
