One Last Time

A/N: This chapter is gonna be pretty long so bear with me you guys. This chapter's fluff up until the end... that's when some shit goes down... Thanks for reading!❤ Also sorry for the weird format, Wattpad won't let me un-center it. I'll try to fix it later.

"It's 6:30!" a shouted from downstairs, waking you up. You groaned and rolled over, covering your face with your pillow. You had gotten a maximum of three hours of sleep last night, and you felt like a fucking zombie to be honest.

"Coming!" You called wearily, forcing yourself yourself to roll out of bed, pull on a pair of jeans, and a gray tank top. You sniffed a blue cardigan that was lying on the couch. It smelled okay, so you pulled that over your shoulders with a light shrug. Hurriedly, you shoved your wallet into the smallest pocket of your backpack, which you slung over your shoulder and half tumbled down the stairs.

Your dad was seated at the kitchen table reading a newspaper, and your mom was standing over the oven attempting to make scrambled eggs, while your brother ran around the kitchen pushing his toy train. Could your life get anymore cheesy?

"It should be illegal to wake up this early." You grumbled, filling your travel coffee mug to the brim. "Well, maybe if you went to bed at decent hour, you wouldn't be so tired all the time." Your mom shot back. You ignored her, and glanced over at the clock hanging near the window. Shit!         How was it already 6:50? You had gotten up like a minute ago.

A familiar vehicle honked outside the house. Despite your overwhelming exhaustion you grinned. Lin. "I gotta go," you said, grabbing an apple to eat in the car, "I'll be home late, I'm going the carnival." Your dad mumbled something that sounded like "Have fun." But his mouth was full of cereal so you couldn't quite tell.

"I wanna come!" Your  little brother whined.

"You don't wanna come with me unless you wanna see two gross teenagers kissing, buddy." You whispered in his ear with a chuckle, as you swung him up into you arms, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "BLEACKK!" He yelled, professionally as you placed him back onto the kitchen floor.

"Maybe mommy can take you." You told him, and he ran up to her, a pleading expression on his face.

"We'll go tommorow Phillip." She said with a light laugh. You and Lin always went on the first day. That was the only day they had fireworks.

"Okay!" Phillip exclaimed, seemingly satisfied. Lin honked again. You pulled your blackberry out of you pocket.

To Lin the m&m: I could take longer ;)

From Lin the m&m: I could leave

To Lin the m&m: You would never, you love me too much.

From Lin the m&m: :(

You giggled, and finally ran out the house, sliding on a pair of converse as you went, an apple in one hand, and your coffee in the other. The first thing you saw as you stepped outside was Lin beaming at you from the car window, and that woke you up more than any coffee could. Now the sun had truly risen. You climbed into the passanger seat and greeted him with a peck on the cheek. "I got like three hours of sleep last night," you complained, slumping into your seat, "Hurry up and drive so we can get school over with." Lin smirked slyly at that sentence. You raised your eyebrows in question.

"Or..." he pondered, "We could just not go. To school, I mean." You frowned.

"Lin..." you began. He didn't let you finish your sentence, interrupting you with a kiss.

"Come on. One day won't hurt. Besides, we've got to ditch at least once senior year. "Fine." You exhaled. You couldn't help but smile at his reaction. He looked like a little kid who just got the toy he had been begging months for.

--------------------

You and Lin walked toward the ticket booth, his hand intertwined with yours. You giggled. "What?" Lin asked warily. Knowing you, he wasn't sure he wanted to know. You giggled again.

"Remember," you started, "when you ate ten things of cotton candy and threw up on that lady who was standing near the carousel?" You were in fits of laughter now. "And the she hit you," you continued, " in the butt with her purse." Lin buried his face in his hands trying to hide his smile.

"I was ten okay?" He protested. You had to sit down from laughing too hard.

Lin, not dealing with your nonsense dragged you the rest of the way to the ticket booth on your butt. "Oww!" You whimpered, "This hurts my butt. A lot." Lin did not look sorry, and the old lady who was no glaring down at you from the glass behind the ticket booth did not look amused. Still giggling slightly, you stood up and took ten dollars out of your wallet for the tickets, but Lin pushed it back towards you.

"Everything's on me." He declared, kissing your nose, and sliding and twenty dollar bill toward the old woman, who in exchanged handed you each ten tickets.

"Thank you." You said to both the lady and Lin. He kissed you again, this time your lips. The lady glared again.

"There are people behind you,"  She snapped, "get a room."

"Someone's in a bad mood." Lin muttered into your ear as he pulled you toward the feris wheel.

" I would be to if I had to work at the ticket booth instead of having fun." You acknowledged, and he sniggered.

"Wait in line," he said with a wink, "Im going to get us cotton candy." He started to walk toward the food truck, but you pulled him back.

"After we go on a few rides," you told him, "the lines are still short."

"Ugh fine." Lin whined, as you rolled you eyes at him. You started to respond with something snarky, but a man in dark blue jacket walked into you, knocking you over, not even bothering to stop and apologize. "Hey, watch it!" Lin yelled after him, pulling me back to my feet. "Are you okay?" He asked, his voice laced with concern, which you smiled at lovingly and nodded, a bit disgruntled.

"Who wears jackets in sixty-five degree weather?" You wondered out loud.

"Jackasses." Lin growled. You look at him, slightly amused.

"Lin, I'm ok." You said in a comforting tone. Lin looked at you sheepishly.

"I know. I love you, though." He said.

"I love you more. And I'm still just as helpless." You murmured back. You kissed again. The man running the feris wheel coughed loudly. You pulled away from Lin, blushing when you realized the two of you were now at the front of the line. You handed him you tickets and climbed into one of the feris wheel booths, resting your head on Lin's shoulder as you sat down.

The feris wheel began to move, the ground slowly getting further away. There weren't as many people yet, since it was early monday morning, but all the attractions were running, and bright lights flashed everywhere. "Pretty." You whispered.

"Just like you, my love." Lin responded with a wink.

-------------

You and Lin sat on a bench in the midst of the crowds and sparkling light eating your third portion of cotton candy. The crowd had, since morning, increased more than three times what it  used to be. "Hey, what time is it?" You questioned. Lin checked his watch.

"Two-thirty already." He replied.

"Wow." You said. You certainly had a way with words. You didn't know how the day could possibly get any better. The two of you had gone on nearly all the rides, a played more than half the games. You had had to go back for more tickets more times than you cared to admit. Lin had even won you a giant brown teddy bear with a red bow-tie, and in return you won for him a huge pink octopus, which he had at first turned down, because "the guys are supposed to win stuff," but accepted it after you gave him a long lecture on the flaws of gender stereotypes.

"I'm going to go throw these away, my love." He cooed, kissing you softly, and taking the trash that remained from your devoured cotton candy.

"Buy us some drinks while your at it!" You said, handing him a ten dollar bill and smiling at him. As Lin walked away, a familiar dark blue jacket caught you eye. It was the man who had knocked you over earlear today. His back was turned and you very maturely stuck you tongue out at him. What the hell is he doing? You wondered. The man was standing completley still, his right hand clutching something black on his waist. Oh my god. Was that... horror and realization dawned on you, dread filling every part of your body. Time seemed to slow as the man began to spin around, firing shots with a black gun he had pulled from his waist he did so.

This wasn't happening.

You were about to scream, but you were silenced as a bullet slammed in between your ribs, a pain worse than anything you could've ever imagined coursing through every inch of your body.
