POV: Vanessa:

A sharp pain ran through Vanessa's heart when Lin told her about (y/n), the girl photographing Hamilton, as it did when anything reminded her of her (y/n). The pain of loosing your best friend never went away. She was sure Lin felt the same way no matter how much he tried to hide it, even though Vanessa had told him an uncountable number of times he didn't have to. Vanessa understood why he tried to though. No matter how in love he claimed to be with her, she knew he had loved her more. What concerned her, however, was that this didn't bother her in the slightest. She was beginning to think that she might not be as in love with Lin as she thought she was, but it was too late to back out of her engagement now. She could never do that to him. Or so she thought until (y/n) walked out of that resteraunt. Something clicked in her brain then. She didn't know what it was, and it didn't make any sense, but in the minutes that followed Vanessa found herself banging on the door to (y/n)'s hotel room.

But to no avail.

There was no answer, only fear coursing through Vanessa blood stream for reasons she couldn't explain. She desperately pulled a bobby pin out of her perfectly neat bun and stuck it into the lock, wiggling it around desperately. After a few seconds she heard a click and the door swung open. Vanessa ran in without hesitation and her heart dropped when she took in the sight in front of her. (y/n) had one leg swung over a wide open window, the wind blowing her hair all around her face, which had tears streaming down it. 

Suddenly she had (y/n) engulfed in a hug in the floor. "Vanessa?" (Y/n) whispered.

"Y/n, I know who you are. Not now, but before." Vanessa said in response, watching (y/n's) tearful eyes widen in shock.  She found herself whispering comforting words into her best friend's ear, and the truth about her engagement with Lin. How she didn't really love him. Her heart broke at the words (y/n's) sobbed to her. After a few minutes her fingers found themselves pressing Lin's contact. The phone rang for what seemed for hours, but eventually the receiver clicked signifying that he had picked up.

"Lin. I... I can't really explain this quickly. But you need to come to y/n'as hotel. Now." Vanessa said.
