▶Chapter 8: She's Dead...◀

C h r i s t y

"Aaron..." I whined, laying in bed. "Why are you creeping around again..." My eyes were closed, tired.

"Christy... Calm down... I'm right here." Aaron chuckled lightly, sitting down on the bed.

"What?" I asked as I sat up and opened my eyes to look at him.

He raised a brow. "You weren't dreaming?"

"You're right here?" I asked quizzically.

He frowned lightly. "I've been here since last night..." He said.

My eyes looked up again and up towards the doorway. "I heard someone downstairs."

He frowned. "I didn't hear anything..."

I sighed before getting up. "I think it's my imagination... Hang on..." I said as I picked up my sword by the door.

Aaron chuckled. "Hang on, babe. I'll come with you." He said as he picked up his demon broadsword and followed me.

I was quiet as I had already gone down towards the stairs.  I saw nothing... But heard a faint voice giggling.

I frowned as I went down the stairs. Everything was dark other than the light coming through the windows.

Aaron walked down after me. "No one's down here, girly..."

I sighed. "I know I heard something..."

He chuckled as he gently put his hand on the top of my back. "Want to look around?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

He smiled before walking into the front half and I walked into the back half.

My eyes changed to green, using it to hopefully see better in the dark.

A slight pain went through me, though I knew it was just contractions. I hate being pregnant. Escpecially when you're in pain all the time.

There was another giggle.

My eyes looked into the room that we were going to use as a nursery...

The door was cracked open.

I looked back into the main room, seeing Aaron looking around still. I was quiet before walking cautiously into the room.

The first thing I noticed was the crib was moved. It wasn't moved far, but the indents it made into the carpet were weird.

"Well, well, well, you two got busy~" A woman laughed out. I stared forward, seeing her shadow on the wall.

"Too bad it's all in vain..." Was the thing I heard next before feeling something sharp and cold enter into my back.

Right as it did, I cried out.

I heard footsteps.

"My husband is my husband until he is dead as well~" She smirked before disappearing.

My jaw was dropped as tears flooded my eyes. My shoulder tensed completely as I stood still.

Suddenly I felt the knife slowly slide down my back and across to my side, stopping near my waistline.

The door flew open as it happened and all I could do was scream in pain.

The cold metal vanished as I crippled to the ground.

Aaron's arms grabbed me before I did. I screamed in pain again, the large slash across my back bleeding.

I felt the sticky liquid go through my shirt.

"Christina... Oh my god..." Aaron said, choking on his words as he started running.

I was crying. "She's..." I saw her shadow by the front door. "Oh my gosh stop... She's there!!"

"Oh Hubby!!!!!" Her giggle rang out.

Aaron growled before he drew his sword.

She stood right in front of the door. "Drop that impostor and come back to me~" She smiled lovingly.

Aaron's eyes went black and red, which I had never seen.

The woman shrieked as he plunged his sword into her chest. Straight through her heart.

Blood came out of her mouth as she crumpled back in our house as Aaron kept running.

"I don't love you anymore Lily... You died once. Now stay dead." Aaron said softly.

I was quiet. He told me something about a woman named Lily...

I was barely able to ignore the pain.

He burst into the guard station, where Zoey and Donna were there with the new girls and Laurance.

"Donna... Zoey... Christy needs help. Now!" Aaron said strictly.

Zoey looked at me and her eyes widened. "Oh no..."

She brought Aaron and I into a separate room.

"Aaron... She's in this bad... But... I can't do anything with her  being pregnant..." Zoey said.

Aaron looked at Zoey after setting me down. "You have to..."

I kept my eyes open. I knew I couldn't shut them.

"The only way would be if we got the baby now... But the baby is still premature..."

"She's eight months, Zoey... You can't just let them die..." Aaron's voice cracked the first time.

I've never seen him or heard him break down...

Zoey touched my arm. "I would have to do a C though... She can't have a baby naturally unless she wasn't... Basically ripped already.."

I bit my lip. "Where's... Where's Taylor..." I choked out.

Zoey was quiet. "She's in the other room."

"Get her... please..." I said.

Zoey nodded before going into the other room.

Aaron looked at me. "Christy..."

"Aaron... Don't worry... Just... Taylor can help..." I whispered.

He bit his lip with a nod.

I know Taylor... She can help and not let the baby get hurt... And... She's done this before...

"Christy, what happened...!?" Taylor said.

I looked at Aaron for him to tell her.

"She got... Cut... Badly..." Aaron said.

Taylor bit her lip. "Aaron, sit her  up."

Aaron was quiet as he did so.

I cried out, my skin feeling like it was ripping. I hated it.

Now... I'm gonna just Stop complaining about contractions... Those aren't as bad as this...

Taylor sighed. "Keep her that way." Taylor found the zipper to the dress and unzipped it, revealing only the cuts.

She took a cloth and held it near her face, chanting something.

Out of the corner of my eye, the rag glowed a gentle pink.

She gently touched the top of the cut start, instantly I felt a cool sensation.

She slowly slid the cloth down, the cool sensation spreading.

Aaron and Zoey's eyes widened.

I couldn't feel any pain anymore. I softly touched my back, only a scar left in its place.

"I can heal.. But the laceration scar is going to stay..." Taylor smiled.

She slid the zipper back up.

"Thanks, Taylor."

She smiled. "Anything for an old friend."

Aaron hugged me lightly.

I hugged him back, my arms around his neck as my head against the side of his.

I heard him start crying. "Oh my gosh..." he whispered.

I smiled lightly, holding onto him still. "Hey... I'm okay... I'm okay."

Taylor smiled. "Alright you two... You want to check if the baby's alright too?"

Aaron and I looked to her with a nod.

Zoey looked at her. "How?"

Taylor smiled. "Magic." She softly said before she walked over to me and helped me lay down along with Aaron.

Aaron was confused. Everyone in that room was but me.

Taylor gently set her hands on my clothed stomach and chanted something again before lifting her hands up, a faint blue-gray figure in it. It floated upwards a little bit before she smiled.

"Alright.." She slightly turned it around to where she could see it. "The baby's okay. Though, I did notice before that she got extremely close to the womb..." Taylor looked at me. "But... She didn't get it. So that's good." She smiled.

I smiled lightly before she chanted again and the figure disappeared.

"Taylor, I want to talk to you about this, please?" Zoey said, her voice showing she was amazed and surprised.

I smiled before looking up at Aaron.

Aaron smiled before kissing my forehead.

So close...
But luckily too far...

To be continued.
