"Well now you've really done it haven't you?"
Edward pulled a gun that he had tucked into his belt and held it against Louis' temple, keeping the boy's head in place with his other hand on his neck.
"I could pull this trigger and nobody would come looking for you. It would be much easier for me to kill you right now, I wouldn't have to worry about keeping your attitude in check again... but I'm not going to do that," Edward sighed as he moved his gun away and Louis released the breath he didn't realize he was holding in.
"You know, you're lucky that I've invested so much money into you," Edward said, tucking his gun back into his pants before continuing with a soft chuckle, "I must admit, I do regret that investment now."
"Now, I'm going to tell you again, and I hope that this time you'll realize who you're speaking to. Get out of bed." Edward stared at Louis with his now emotionless eyes, waiting for the boy's response.
Louis nodded slowly and pushed the sheets away with trembling hands. If being obedient was going to keep him alive, then Louis was okay with playing into Edward's wishes.
"Splendid." And with that, Edward was walking out of the room, with Louis trailing behind.
Louis looked at the walls as the two walked down the cream colored hallway, searching for any family photos, or any confirmation that Edward had family at all. Judging from his rough exterior, Louis wouldn't have been surprised if he had learnt that Edward murdered everyone in his family. He seemed heartless enough to do something of the sort.
If he did that to his family then what's stopping him from doing it to me.
"Do you need my jacket?"
"I- what?"
Edward stopped walking and slipped his coat off, setting it onto Louis' shoulders before providing his explanation, "your teeth are chattering, quite loudly."
"Um... thank you?" Louis mumbled, stunned that Edward would actually care if he was cold.
Edward cleared his throat and glanced away, "yes of course, it's no surprise that you're cold, considering how you're showing more skin than you're covering up." Then he was back to being rude and walking too fast for Louis' short legs to keep up with.
With the prolonged silence, Louis' mind began to wander to the possibility of Edward murdering him and cooking him for dinner. The man's reputation would leave no outcomes off of the table.
Edward stopped at pure white double doors, earning Louis' attention as he hesitantly put his hand on the door knob. "Don't speak unless you're spoken to, got it?"
Louis nodded and played with the material of his shorts.
"You were spoken to Louis."
"Yes, I understand."
