Hello everybody, and welcome to my first choice-driven, interactive story!

I'll cut right to the chase and explain how you can participate in this fun adventure, and then I'll follow with the story specifics.

The concept is simple: every chapter will end with the character(s) needing to make a choice. Some choices will only have a small effect on the plot, others can completely change the course of the story! Some characters' lives might even be at risk with some of these choices.

Obviously I can't write in advance, despite that being my usual style, so there will be no schedule for this book. At the end of each chapter I'll let the choices sit for about a day or two, before disallowing any new votes, so I can start writing the next chapter. So if you want your vote to count, make sure you don't hesitate for too long!

In the A/N of the next chapter, I will give readers a brief overview of what the opposite choice could have resulted in.

Please don't be mean to other readers on account of the choices – if any arguments break out based on disagreements regarding the choices, your vote will no longer count. And don't be upset if you came to the chapter too late to participate, every chapter will end with a choice, you'll get enough chances!

I've been specifically vague on the story genre and the plot, as I don't want anything to influence the readers' choices – I want you guys to go in completely blind!

Although I will say this book is obviously dark – if the title didn't make that clear already. We will be touching some really dark subjects as most of my books do, and there's a high possibility of death in the story. So proceed with caution!

Now, I think that covers that! Let me move on to story specifics:

– As always, Jesse will be the second female variant. Tan skin, brown hair, brown eyes, teal t-shirt!

– The story takes place after episode 4 of season 1. The portal arc and season 2 never happened.

– Due to the large amount of people disappointed that the last book's ship focus wasn't Jesstra, expect that this time around! (Although the plot will not be romance driven)

– I'm trying a more modern plot style, although it'll still have elements from the game itself.
