Chapter 7: A normal belief

(Just wanted to say, for Angie's part of the story, please don't get offended of the contents of her part. For those of you who do believe in a religion, I'm sure it's great)

(Angie's pov)

I've always been an atheist...

I'm one of those people who really hate God. Like if someone even says the word 'God' then they're pissed off.

Yep, that's me. I'm a hardcore atheist.

Don't think that my family made me hate religions or anything like that, I chose to be an atheist. Deal with it.

My family are pretty much hardcore atheists too, we all hate about the fact the fact that people choose to devote their lives to someone who doesn't even exist. It's pathetic.

Whenever it's a religious holiday like Easter, my family and I lock ourselves in our house and try to plug out the celebrations people throw while chanting religious songs. But we still celebrate Christmas.

When I say we celebrate Christmas, I mean that we receive presents and have large meals but nothing more than that. Whenever we turn on the TV, we have to quickly go pass the channels that have people singing hymns.

I'm a hardcore atheist because I think it's stupid that some people in this world believe that God is the reason that the Earth exists the way it does right now.

How pathetic. The reason the world is like it is right now is all because of science. Science is the reason for everything! The creation of the Earth was because of meteorites smashing against each other. The creation of people was all by evolution. Everything about this world was all by science, not some puny god that doesn't even exist.

So, a basic summary is that I'm pretty much a science fanatic. But I really hate God and religion. Even if someone says 'Oh my god' or 'Jesus Christ', I get pissed. And if someone says that God is the reason the world was created... someone get the machine gun.

Today in the Danganronpa club, it was pretty normal like the other days everyone has been attending. I'm sure Shuichi is glad and happy no one has quit the club. I'm still wondering why I even joined this club in the first place. I just saw it one day and decided to join. Natural gut feelings I guess.

Everyone was doing their own thing and interacting with people.

Shuichi was having an intense discussion with Kaede who seemed mildly interested. That was good, seeing how she doesn't bother listening into most of our conversations. She and Shuichi seem to be getting on well and Kaede hadn't even bothered to talk to any of the others as well.

Ryoma and Kirumi were talking as well, but you get the feeling that they were talking about some important, mature discussions.

Himiko was snoozing on Tenko's shoulder, probably because she stayed up late again, while Tenko was blushing wildly and looked awkward in the position she was in.

Kokichi was going out on his way to flirt with Miu who was easily flustered and her face was red the entire time we've been here.

Tsumugi was talking to Rantaro. She seemed nervous and blushing slightly whole Rantaro, for once, looked like he was enjoying it.

Maki was trying to do some press ups and Kaito was coaching her and helping her out when she either got stuck or collapsed out of overwork while Gonta was watching them before deciding he wanted to train as well so then he started doing 200 press ups in a row.

Tori was sitting on a table with a textbook on his lap and a notebook and pen in his hand. Tsuki was sitting next to him, occasionally pointing at the pages of the textbook and probably tutoring him on some subjects while Tori wrote whatever she was saying down. Korekiyo was sitting idly next to Tsuki, sometimes listening into what she was saying.

And Kiibo was the only one who wasn't with someone. He just sat down on a chair close towards everyone but still isolated. He didn't seem to mind that much, he just looked bored.

I was just sitting down, reading a few science textbooks, pretty much ignoring everyone and the background noises while going over for the hundredth time everything about evolution.

Eventually, Kokichi stopped flirting with Miu, leaving her as a blushing mess before speaking up,

"Come on guys! I'm bored bored bored! Let's do something!"

"Last time you said that, we were playing Danganronpa Street Fighter on the Nintendo Switch you stole," Kirumi reminded him

"And so what? Everyone enjoyed it!" Kokichi stated

"That reminds me, did you ever return the Switch?" Tenko asked him

"That doesn't matter right now!" Kokichi hurriedly said, "Lets just do something already!"

"How about you read a book?" I offered, turning around my book so he could see the cover, "You can read up about evolution,"

"Bbbbbbooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg," he dramatically said

"Well, go find yourself some entertainment, it was peaceful before you spoke up," Kaito told him, getting up from his crouching position

"But I can't! So that's why I'm asking you!" Kokichi whined before turning to Tori, "Hey West! Whatcha doing?"

"H-huh? Oh, just revising," Tori nervously replied, almost dropping his pen when Kokichi spoke at him

"Why are you doing some useless revising for? It's club time so you shouldn't be revising!" Kokichi said in a matter-of-fact tone

"Because we have a test tomorrow and I needed help so I asked Tsuki," Tori explained

"Wait, we have a test?" Tsumugi asked

"DID SOMEONE SAY TEST?!" Himiko shouted, having to have woken up just from the word 'test'

"Guys, you do realise we were constantly reminded of our test for the past two weeks?" Tsuki said

"Um... about that...." Pretty much everyone, including me, said

"Well, not all of us actually care about tests," Gonta commented, stretching his arms and making loud click noises

"Wait, what subject is the test on?!" I asked, needing to know if it was science. If it was one of the three science subjects then I will be fine

"RPE," Tsuki answered

"What's that?" Kokichi asked

"We've been having RPE lessons for 5 years now, Kokichi," Kaede sighed, "Religion, Philosophy, Ethics."

"Yeah, and I needed help remembering all the religions we've learnt about," Tori smiled somewhat nervously

"Shit!" I cursed, gripping my pigtails

Everyone turned to me, confused to why I just cursed.

Damn! We're gonna have an RPE test, the only subject I completely fail at. Because of my RPE grades, they've been keeping my whole average grade down which would also prevent me from being able to be accepted into universities like Oxford or Cambridge.

I wonder how I'm gonna make it to those elite universities.

(Kiibo's pov)

I've always been normal...

I hate being in this club where I'm surrounded by so many unique people. It's so obvious how I stand out from the others. Everyone in this club are so different and unique. From Shuichi's obsessive addiction over Danganronpa to Maki's adorable personality and cutesy attire.

And then you see me. A perfectly average normal person.

That's the only thing about me. I'm the ordinary average normie guy.

My hair style? Normal.

My personality? Normal.

My daily routines? Normal.

Me? Completely normal.

Everyone else in this damn club are so special, so unique, they all have this particular trait about them that makes them stand out. And what do I have? Absolutely nothing.

But yet I don't have the heart to unjoin myself from these people.

After everyone had calmed down about the fact we have a stupid test tomorrow, we finally started to discuss some actual stuff. Like a normal club would.

And, of course, the subject was revolving about Danganronpa. No surprise there.

Shuichi was the one to bring up the subject, as always. His obsession with Danganronpa has him constantly daydreaming about it 24/7. If he isn't daydreaming about Danganronpa, it's about Kaede instead.

"Guys, the auditions for Danganronpa are starting next week!" Shuichi ecstatically started shaking his phone around, no doubt having the official Danganronpa website on there.

"Oh yeah! I've spent so much time here and watching anime that it completely slipped out of my mind!" Tsumugi squealed excitedly

"I'm gonna be one of the people Team Danganronpa will let in!" Kaito cracked his knuckles

"Wait, is everyone going to be auditioning?" Miu asked

"I think so," Tori answered

"Then we can all get into Danganronpa together!" Himiko yelled

"You do realise they are only 16 spaces?" Tsuki reminded her

"Wait, no! It says here that this year Team Danganronpa will allow 18 students to participate in order to spice things up!" Shuichi practically was screaming in excitement

"Everyone! Do your best to impress the staff!" Ryoma shouted

"Let's all get into Danganronpa together!" Tenko smiled, having to have built up a little confidence to speak louder

"Even with extra spaces, not all of you will be chosen," Gonta huffed, "Some of you don't have an ounce of talent in you at all,"

Why do I feel like that was directed at me when Gonta wasn't even looking at me?

"Well then, we will just have to up our game," Kirumi smiled warmly

"We will just have to prove we're all worth taking the roles," Korekiyo said

"Wait! What about our studies?!" Angie asked, waving her book around

"Do you care more about your studies than taking part in the world's most famous game?" Kaede asked her

"Then it's official! We're all gonna audition for Danganronpa and all get in as a group of friends!" Kokichi declared, standing on a desk to make himself look like a leader

Everyone started cheering and talking excitedly among their friends about their plans and ideas about their future roles they will perform.

I'm not sure about this whole thing.

For everyone else, I'm positive they will get a spot in Danganronpa based on how unique and interesting they all are.

What about me?

You can forget you even came up with that idea.
