After the maths competition, it was time to present the winner of the debate. This was the moment we all had been waiting for. Our school had won the maths competition.

Wow, Ken is a maths geek! He dealt with all the questions as if he was swallowing pounded yam with ogbono soup. He just answered every one of them with ease. I am really impressed!!

"It is time ooo!" The M.C announced. "Who will be the winner of our debate!"

I pinched Freddy's hand.

"Ouch!" he winced. "Why did you pinch me?"

"I am freaking out!"

"Okay! You can freak out but don't pinch me!" he pushed my hands far from his.

"The Principal of Charisma High School will announce and present the awards to the winners! Please let's clap for her as she makes her way to the stage!"

I clapped hard hoping that it would make her favor my school.

Such a foolish idea!

"Firstly, I want to thank all the schools that created time to attend this occasion. We are so grateful!" the woman's white teeth glinted as she smiled at the crowd. A young man walked up to her and handed her a sheet of paper. Her smile widened when she looked at it. "Before I announce the winner, I want to say that every school did a great job. The students delivered a wonderful presentation. They dealt with the debate topic. I enjoyed it all..."

Woman, please stop all this talk. I need to know who won.

"Now, I shall start from the second runner-up is..."

"Runner-up?" I leaned closer to Freddy and asked.

"I don't know oo! I think it's the third position sha!"

"...is Gideon College!" she declared. The students of the school jumped to their feet and celebrated. "Please the debaters and their teachers should come to the stage. We want to present the prize!"

Big school equals to big prize! That's what I expect from this school. If the school give us a small prize, I will be ashamed of them.

However, a large rectangular box was handed to the teacher of the school. The box was wrapped with a gift-wrap so I couldn't tell what was in the box.

"How about all your students join in a group picture?" The Principal asked.

"Okay, ma!" The teacher replied. She gestured that all the students joined them and they took some pics.

"Alright! The first runner-up is..." she chuckled. "According to the judges, it was hard to select one. The winner only passed this school with one mark. However, I think this school did an excellent job!"

Oh Lord! I just wish we aren't the school. I want our school to be the winner. If we aren't, this CHS students will think they are better than us.

"The first runner-up is...." she laughed when the DJ had played a drumbeat.

Ah! I hate suspense ooo! They won give me heart attack! Hian!

"...is Golden Sun College!"

At first, my heart dropped and then it started to race.

At least, we got second position!!

My smile widened. I was pulled to my feet by Anita and she wrapped her arms around me.

I joined my fellow debaters and we made our way to the stage. I was grinning like a Cheshire cat. Our gift was also large and retangular.

Freddy and some other students joined us in taking some pictures. Soon, we all resumed our seats. Charles smiled at me and said, "Congrats!"

"Thank you!" I beamed.

"Now, the winner of Charisma High School is...." The principal simpered. "Charisma High!!!"

"Mm hmm!" I huffed. "Sha! They only passed us with one mark!"

"They cheated!" Freddy whispered into my ears.

"How?"

"Our school did well. They just wanted to win by all means and added one mark to themselves!"

"Oh! That one is their business! If they try to boast, we will put them in their place!"

The prize was given to the school. It was bigger than the gift they had given to us.

"How can you host an occasion and still be the one to take the prize you bought?" Freddy hissed.

"Calm down! Just leave them! Their conscience will judge them!" I replied.

I glanced at Anita's face. She wasn't pleased at all. The students of CHS were screaming, hooting and celebrating. All the invitees were unhappy with this.

"Let's go! The occasion is over!" Mr Steven said. We all stood up and prepared to leave.

"Wait!" Charles called. "Can I have your number?"

"No! You can't!" Freddy butted in. "She's my girlfriend!"

I shook my head while still smiling. "Don't mind him!"

"Are you going to give him?" Freddy grunted.

"Yes! I'm sure he just wants to be my friend!"

"Exactly!" Charles chirped. "I also want to have your number! You seem like a great guy!"

Freddy stroked an invisible dust off his shoulder. "I'm definitely a great guy!" he grinned.

"Mtchew! Great guy, my foot!" I teased.

"What's your name?" Charles asked Freddy.

"Freddy!"

"Okay!"

We exchanged our numbers and joined our school mates as they entered the bus. As soon as we were all settled, the bus roared to live and we were on our way back to our school.

"I don vex like this!" Anita yelled. Everyone in the bus turned to her. "They cheated na!"

"Abi oo!"

"Azin!"

"I said it!"

"That was what I was telling them!"

Everyone poured out their thoughts. I nodded in agreement.

"We are going to have our own Students' week. As the head girl, I will make that happen! Daniel, don't even dare oppose!" she pointed her index finger at him.

"Don't worry! You have my support!"

Anita laughed devilishly. "I will do a payback. I will intentionally send their invitation letter late. They won't have time to prepare for our debate and when they actually present it, I will make sure they don't win!"

"Anita, that would be wrong of you!" Daniel retorted.

"Sssh! You too dey talk!" she hushed him. "Who is in support of my idea?"

Everyone cheered. I and Freddy were among them. I was sitting close to the window and Kate was beside me. She was actually in the middle between Freddy and me. It's kind of annoying but anyways I shouldn't think too much of it.

The teachers sat at the front with the driver so we could say anything without their disturbance.

"Let us do it, please!" Peggy pleaded.

"Of course we will! I have made up my mind!" Anita replied.

The bus fell into silence after that was resolved. Suddenly, Peggy's laughter interrupted the silence.

"I am bored oo!" she yelled from the back seat.

"Me too!" some students replied.

"Let's play that game they call marry, date or kill" Peggy suggested.

"Oya na!" Anita encouraged. "Who is interested!"

Some students waved their hands. Kate, Ken, Freddy and I were also waving our hands.

"This is how to play the game. We will mention names to you and you will decide who you would rather kill, date or marry!"

"Yes! Who will go first!" Peggy asked.

"Me!" Anita beamed.

"Let me ask Anita! Please!" Amaka, the senior that did the debate with me.

"Okay!" Peggy replied.

We were still sitting but we tried to turn our heads to get a good view of Anita.

"Mr Steven's wife!" someone yelled.

"Who said that?" Anita barked.

"You guys shouldn't say it out loud. What if Mr Steven hears you?" Amaka scolded.

"Mtchew! You people should not start that rubbish now!" Anita's brows snapped together.

I looked at them in confusion.

Who are they calling Mr Steven's wife?

"Who would you rather kill, date or marry" Amaka smirked. "Choose between Mr Steven, Daniel and..."

Amaka looked around and pointed at a senior male student. All Anita's classmate smirked.

"I hope you will choose your husband, Mr Steven! You guys make a perfect couple!" Amaka teased.

"It's simple!" Anita scoffed. "I will just kill Mr Steven, date Chibueze and marry Daniel!"

"Awwn! I kinda ship the head boy and head girl romance!" Peggy giggled.

Freddy glanced at me and smirked. He leaned closer though Kate was still at our middle. "Why is Peggy always shipping relationship?" he chuckled.

Before I could reply, Kate wrapped her arms on his and rested her head on Freddy's chest. "Maybe she is a big fan of romance and cute couples!"

Ehen! So? Must you now place your head on his chest?

I gave a tight smile and nodded.

"Wait! Why are you calling Anita Mr Steven's wife?" Peggy asked.

"Na long story! All I know is that Mr Steven likes looking at Anita as if she is the most beautiful girl on earth!" Amaka giggled. "Anyways! Who should go next?"

"Please, let Naomi be the next person!" Peggy pleaded She clasped her hands together and batted her lashes.

My brows went up.

"Why me?" I snapped.

"Because..." she winked at Freddy. He laughed and I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Lemme ask biko!" Peggy beamed.

"Ask!" Anita urged.

"Kill, date or marry!" Peggy folded her arms and wiggled her brows. "Hmm...Daniel..."

Oh no! What is this girl planning!

"...Ken and...Freddy!" Peggy clapped her hands excitedly. "Choose!"

"Err..." I scratched my brow.
Anita's eyes were fixed on me as she smiled expectantly.

Freddy had also centered his attention on me, Ken's brown eyes were on me and Daniel was also smiling at me.

Oo oh! Who should I pick oo?
Let me not deceive myself! I know deep down that I would rather marry Freddy. That one is settled. Now who will I kill or date? Ken is handsome and mysterious. He is a guy from Britain. Maybe he has some personalities that I might not be familiar with. Dating him might be dangerous and hurtful. As for Daniel, I know him a little. Anita knows him and he totally looks like a good guy. He is even a nerd. Dating him might be safe for me. Ah! See the way I am analyzing things. It's just a game oo! Naomi have some sense na!

I looked at everyone and shrugged. "I will kill..."

My eyes darted at the three boys. "I will kill Ken!"

An unreadable expression flashed on his face. It seemed like he was hurt but I am not sure. All I know is that his reaction was different from what I expected.

"Who will you marry?" Anita and Peggy had chorused.

"Wait na! Mtchew!"

"Answer jare!" Anita hissed.

"I will date Daniel and marry..." Before I could reply, Anita and Peggy screamed. "Freddy!"

So childish! Okay! Why am I smiling?

Freddy smiled at me and I foolishly smiled back.

It was not all students in the bus that was participating in this game. I am so happy about that. I don't want everyone to know or see anything.

"Let's ask Freddy!" Anita voiced.

"No! Ask me! Please!" Kate voiced.

"Hmm..." Anita looked at her. "Okay!"

"Who will ask me?" Kate asked.

"Let me ask!" Peggy offered. "So choose! Nonso...hm...Dickson and erm..."

"Freddy! Add Freddy!" Kate insisted.

"Freddy!"

Kate smiled and leaned closer to Freddy. "I will marry Freddy, date Dickson and kill Nonso!"

I couldn't stop myself. I actually rolled my eyes. Anita and Peggy noticed that and sent me a knowing look.

"Can I join this game?" Regina yelled from a seat at the front row.

"Yes!" Amaka replied.

"Hmm..Someone should ask me!" Regina said.

"Let me ask!" I uttered.

I just want to join in the fun!

"Kill, date or marry!" I proclaimed. "Nonso, Ken or Gilbert!"

Some people burst into laughter.

"Ah Ahn! Na wa for you!" Regina exclaimed. "Why did you mention Gilbert? I will kill him na! It is a sure thing. I will date Nonso and marry Ken!" she winked at Ken who just reacted indifferently.

"Ask me oo!" Nonso ordered.

"Let me ask you!" Kate suggested. "Ijeoma, Regina and Naomi"

I felt like slapping Kate when I heard my name.

"Who is Ijeoma?" he quizzed.

Oh my gosh! He does not even know who Ijeoma is! Ijeoma why na? Why do you like this guy so much! He is not worth your time!

"Is Ijeoma here?" He asked.

I stretched my neck and glanced around.

"No!" I replied.

"Is this Ijeoma hot?" he cocked a brow. "If she is hot, I will date. If she is not, then I will kill her!"

"She is not hot jare!" Regina sneered. "I fine pass her!"

In your dreams, Regina! And Hey, Ijeoma is hot.

"Okei! I will kill her and date..." he looked at me. "Regina and marry Naomi!"

My mouth was wide open when I heard his answer.

Marry me?

"And why would you marry her?" Freddy growled.

"She would make a good house wife!" he laughed. Everyone chuckled and someone even dared to say "Azin!"

"Nonso, you are a big fool!" I howled.

"Idiot!" Anita hissed. "Abegi! Lemme ask my brother-in-law!"

Brother-in..what?

Anita simpered, "Freddy choose! Naomi, Kate and Peggy!"

"Ah! Me?" Peggy exclaimed.

I don't know why but my heart throbbed.

I was kind of scared that he might kill me. Besides Kate is even finer than me. He might like her.

Freddy rubbed his palm together. "This question is too simple!"

My heart skipped.

Why is it simple?

"Kill Peggy, Date..." he smiled at me. "Nao...Kate and marry Naomi!"

I let out a breathe that I didn't know I was holding.

Firstly, Freddy is stupid. He pretended to say he would date me and changed it to Kate. But...
Yay! Freddy called me Naomi! It sounds so good in his voice. I like it but I prefer that he calls me Cupcake.

"Okay! There is someone I want to ask!" Peggy announced. "Ken!"

Ken was taken aback by her statement. He ran his fingers down his soft black hair and replied, "You can ask me!"

"Choose! Me..." Peggy said and waved both hands. "You can still kill me if you want to oo! I am just asking sha!"

My eyes widened when I noticed Peggy blush. She looked shy as she spoke, "Me,  Regina or...Naomi"

Does she like Ken? I think so! Awesome! I can tease her about this! And why do people like mentioning my name?

Ken's brown eyes locked with mine for a moment.

"I will kill Regina" he said and glared at her. She flinched and her eyes widened.

She never expected that! Wow! He didn't fall for her. Good! Regina deserves that!

"I will date Peggy and marry Naomi!"

His eyes locked with mine and he smiled. I froze.

That smile looks like the 'I like you' smile. Oh geez! I mean...Okay, wait first! Pause! Everyone just hold on! Does Ken like me?

Freddy glanced at me and then he glared at Ken. His glare was so hard and icy like that of a predator ready to pounce.

Wetin dey happen? I don confuse!
