Oh my Irene who are these people.

Yea, I'm going to the party Ayaka invited me to, I'm not gonna pass up cake. Do you know me?

I broke into an engagement party for cake, this is a custom for me at this rate.

Anyways......

Today was my vacation from work, it just so happened that the party for Oliver's sister, Leah, is today. In my defense, I didn't plan this. So I went to target, grabbed a gift card and a mint scented candle and drove to the party with Zane. I looked up the guest list, and saw a whole bunch of names I couldn't recognize for the life of me. Aphmau and Katelyn would be going though, so that was a huge plus.

"So, who are these people?"
"I worked for Oliver in Love Love Paradise, he's chill once you get to know him. A bit, er, sarcastic though."
"I live with the embodiment of sarcasm, I think I can chill."
"Touché my good fiancé."
"But why are you going?"
"His friend Ayaka invited me a few weeks ago, thought it would be fun."
"Your definition of fun is different than mine."
"Your definition of fun is sitting on the couch watching your show all day. No sir, at least I'm going outside."

I grinned, driving off the highway and into the country, knowing I was right. The town they lived in was pretty unfamiliar to me, so I didn't mind seeing sights before closing in on the house. I caught glimpse of a school football court. It was directly near O'Khasis prep. A few streets away was Leah's house. Large trees covered most of the area outside it, small animals frequently crossed the street. I always stopped so they could go.

It was a pretty big cottage. Periwinkle roofed and painted white with sky like accents. Two story as well, with the top window blacked out. Probably a bedroom. The chimney was lit, as it still snowed here, and lights were on behind the curtains. I could hear Nicki Minaj songs coming from the window. Flowers of all colors planted next to the walkway and near the house.

"Why are they listening to "Stupid Hoe?"
"Shhh Zane it's a classic."
"What was I thinking coming here."

He sighed, holding my wrist in his. It was common for him to feel uncomfortable meeting new people, but that's why I brought him there. He needed to make more friends and see people, no matter who they were. I may be an introvert, but there's no harm in trying something new.

"I don't know these people, I don't do well when I'm alone. I hate parties. Why did you take me?"
"To be honest, I only know Oliver, Aph and Kate, so I'm kinda alone too. But hey..."

I cupped his cheek with my palm, smiling to him. He blushed underneath his mask. A giggle came out of my mouth.

"At least we're alone together."

When we walked in, Aphmau's dancing was on full display. The music was louder than sirens blaring at a crime scene. Her hair was completely frizzed and messy. She waved back and forth, sloshing punch all over the carpet. Her eyes closed and feeling the rhythm of the music.

Luckily for her, Leah had already accounted for the mishaps, and had previously put down black towels to catch said punch spills.

Damn I wish I was that prepared

As soon as Zane and I entered, Katelyn went to grab my hand and escort me to the snack bar, leaving Zane to try and calm Aph down from her sugar high.

"Y/n!! How come you're here?"
"I know Oliver from LLP, you?"
"Ayaka was on the volleyball team back in highschool. And Aph knows Angel from the gaming club she entered in junior year, so we checked out. The party is pretty good, but I'm glad you're here. Now things can really start!"

She grinned at me, noticing the gift in my hand and propping it on the table. I awkwardly smiled, looking around the area for people I knew.

Ayaka was wearing a black jacket with a teal striped shirt. She was watching Oliver eat cake, talking to him about a show called Minecraft Diaries.

"Really, I would love a Garroth episode."
"Really? I'm a bigger fan of Lucinda.."
"Come on! The real hottie is Laurance!"

Angel cut in, drunkly wrapping her arms around both of their shoulders and taking the cake from Oliver's hands. I laughed a bit, walking over to them with a grin.

"What are you guys talking about?"
"Only the coolest series on YouTube Blue! Minecraft Diaries! Ayaka and I are big fans, she always comes up with strange theories though."
"Maybe so, but it's fun. Good way to buy time I guess."
"Awesome!"

I gushed, laughing a bit. I remember that show, it was on hiatus for a while. Then they picked it back up for another season last week.

"Favorite character, Y/n?"
"Oh um... (character) is so cool!"

I gushed, watching as Zane walked up behind me. He poked my shoulder, nodding for me to follow him to the window.

"So.. what's up?"
"Aph is going crazy, Katelyn won't stop talking about sports, and I'm tired."
"There are cupcakes in the fridge. We've been here for 20 minutes."
"See you in a few hours."

He muttered, making his way to the kitchen. I covered my mouth to avoid laughter, but giggled under my breath.

This isn't so bad after all...

We ended up going home around 9, as Candy was still a puppy and needed to be trained to go to bed on time. I waved to them all and said we should hang out again, but that's their decision.

Aphmau and Katelyn followed us home, I tried to invite them over but they decided to just call it a night.

Zane ruffled my hair, picking up our dog and placing her in the bed.

"Next time, if you're going to invite me to a party, make sure they have an infinite supply of cupcakes."
"Sure."

Agh.. I hate this chapter

I don't know why? I hate inserting my OC's into things but I needed a filler so I can plan for the wedding.

And I just threw in MCD references for fun, no lore in that..

Gods it was so hard to write this, but I hope you guys found it at least decent.
