Mark's pov
Me and Felix impatiently waited in the airport for Minx to pick us up. She said she was going to be here at 8. Its now 8:30 and she's late.
"Mark!" I heard a females voice call my name. I looked through the small crowd of early morning passengers and saw a girl with brown hair and a purple streak waving to us. I nudged Felix and we hurried over to her.
"Hello, I am Minx and we need to go," she said quickly as she turned and hurried away.
"At least fill us in on what's going on. How is Jack?" Felix asked as we caught up to her fast pace.
"That's why we need to hurry. The doctors think he is going to wake up and we need to meet up with everyone at the hospital," she explained quickly as we reached the carpark and got into her car.
We drove for about half an hour before we reached the hospital and raced inside. Minx gave her name and asked to see Jack, to which the nurse at the desk gave his room.
She led us down a long white hall full of rooms, stopping at one door in particular. Jack's room.
"Are you sure you're ready to see him after so long?" Minx asked cautiously.
I nodded and she opened the door. I was shocked when I saw Jack. He was hooked up to several different machines. Though, he did look peaceful.
I rushed to his side and immediately joined our hands together. I let out a sob as tears fell down my face.
He had a black eye and his lip was busted, he had a few cuts and scratches on his face but they didn't compare to the large bandage that wrapped around his head. It had some blood soaking through showing it hadn't been changed in a while. I couldn't stand to look at the rest of him.
"Oh my god Jack. You look... Horrible. I can't imagine how much pain you were in. I should have been there to help you. I should have been there," I sobbed.
"Its not your fault Mark." I looked up when I felt a hand on my shoulder. Felix stood next to me with a saddened expression on hi face. I could tell from the look in his eyes that he just wanted to break down like I did but he held it together. I thanked him for it.
"How about you go get us some drinks so we can stay awake while the doctors do their check up. If Jack starts waking up I'll send you a text and you can come running back okay?" He offered.
I was hesitant at first but after a second thought I nodded and slowly walked out of the room. Minx handed me some Irish money (or what ever they use. I'm terrible with currency XD) since we hadn't exchanged ours yet.
I slowly stared at the hot liquid as it flowed into the cup in front of me. I was in a complete daze as I picked up the cups and slowly shuffled back to Jack's room.
As I reached the room I heard commotion inside. I then felt my phone vibrate in my pocket showing I got a message. I hurried into the room but froze when I saw Jack.
He looked like he was having a seizure or a panic attack. Tears were streaming down his face and his breathing was hitched and uneven. His eyes were squeezed closed and small gasps escaped his mouth every now and then.
I dropped the hit coffee's onto the floor and tried to rush forward to help him but a nurse stopped me and held me back. I screamed at her to let me hell but she pushed me out of the room.
Soon after Felix and Minx joined me and I was wrapped in Felix's arms as we both sobbed. Minx stood up watching the door impatiently, giving the two of us nervous glances every now and then.
After what felt like forever the doctor came out to us with a sour look on his face. It quickly turned into a sympathetic one when he saw the state we were in.
Since neither me nor Felix were in any condition to talk, Minx talked to the doctor for us. I couldn't hear their conversation over my uncontrollable sobs. The image of Jack still vivid in my mind.
After a few note minutes Minx came back over to us as our sobs finally died down.
"Well, the good news is he's okay," Minx said blandly. She wanted to say more but I pushed past her before she could speak up.
"MARK!" she called out after me as I ran down the brightly lit halls and burst into Jack's room. Jack gave me a kind smile as I did so, momentarily looking away from the doctor in front of him.
"Jack! Oh my god you're okay," I said running over to him and hugging him.
He didn't hug back though and seemed to tense up at my touch. When he didn't relax I began to worry and pulled away.
"Jack, what's wrong?" I asked in concern. He just gave me a confused loom.
"Um, no offense but. Who are you? And who is Jack? My name is Sean," he said innocently.
"Mark I need to tell you something! Jack doesn't-," Minx called out but stopped when she saw me standing by the bed with a devastated look on my fave.
"He doesn't remember," I finished off the sentence she cut short with an empty sentence. My words were hollow and emotionless.
I felt empty. Like I had just lost a piece of myself. How could this have happened? Why? Why Jack? Why did he have to loose his memory? Right when I finally get him back after so long, does he have to be taken away from me like this?
I couldn't piece together anything to say. So instead I just ran out of the room. I ignored all the cries of everyone around me and kept running. I didn't want to see anyone right now. I just needed to be alone so I could think. This can't be happening.
Jack's (or should I say Sean's?) POV
I watched as the red haired teen ran out if my room. I couldn't help but feel like he was someone important to me. But I just couldn't remember who he was. So I guess he wasn't. But why was he calling me Jack? Did he get me mixed up with someone else? But he seemed so determined. And his friends were too... Maybe he was important.
Sorry, not sorry, but it had to happen.
