~Chapter 20~Game Plan~
~Meliodas's Pov~
Once Elizabeth fell back asleep it was late afternoon. I headed downstairs to see through the windows we already had crossed the borderline between the Kingdom of Camelot and the Demon Clan territories. When Ban had knocked earlier, it was to inform me that Merlin was going to transport us to Camelot for us then to keep going to not waste any time. Once downstairs, I was also able to see everyone getting ready for what was to come. "Captain" Gowther spoke, noticing me first.
Everyone looked up and at me. "How is she?" Diane asked worried as I took a deep breath, my eyes going toward the ground. Everyone knew it wasn't good as it was but I knew my reaction would've made them worry more. "She's fighting it, if we aren't careful she could die even earlier than the curse wants her to" I soon informed them, looking back up. Merlin had the most worried and scared look than the others. I noticed Elaine hugging Ban's arm tightly while King was comforting Diane.
Escanor was shyly looking at Merlin worried while Hawk was asking me if he could see Elizabeth. I nodded toward Hawk, getting him to rush up the stairs behind me. Gowther was soon asking me what our main plan of action was. We needed Zeldris or an extremely powerful member of the Ten Commandments. It was going to be hard. We had to do it in one whole day then move to the Goddess Clan straight afterwards. "I am not fully sure..." I mumbled in thought walking to the table Merlin and Gowther sat.
They were looking at a map of the Demon Clan territory. It wasn't up to date but was the best we had. Ban was listening and watching closely, Elaine sitting in his lap with her face burnt up. King was too busy helping Diane with sorting out our armour to notice, thank the goddess. We didn't need all of us turning on each other. Between my worry and fear for Elizabeth's fate, I was struggling to focus very well. "Captain, we might want to think of a plan fast, we are in Demon Clan territory..." Escanor spoke in some fear.
"I need to get to Zeldris alone" I then spoke confusing everyone, getting all of their attention. They were looking at me to explain. Zeldris hated me with a strong passion but that passion made it easier to speak to him. "Zeldris and I used to get along great, even though he hates me now, I know how to strike a deal with him" I then explained as Merlin leaned back in her chair, thinking. Gowther was looking at the map as it seemed he understood me the best. Diane and King both looked worried.
"So we gotta keep everyone off the Boar Hat and you while you talk to your brother?" Ban asked slowly, getting me to nod in reply. Escanor looked at Merlin looking to see if she agreed with my plan. "If we can't get Zeldris alone, we will need to capture one of the Ten Commandments" I then explained getting everyone in the room to freeze up and sweatdrop at the thought. The Ten Commandments were people much like us Seven Deadly Sins. We were the most powerful warriors of each side.
Each member of the Commandments had a power gifted to them by my father, The Demon King. Sadly it made them very powerful. "Unless I can speak to Zeldris alone...we will have to fight to near death" I explained as calmly as I could. Merlin stood up looking at me with a serious look. I knew this plan was risky. She and Gowther would've known too. "Can you really get Prince Zeldris to agree with you?" Merlin asked in a serious tone. It shocked everyone, getting them to look at me with worry once more.
"I know I can but only if no one else butts in" I answered in a serious tone of my own. Merlin soon nodded agreeing with the plan. Gowther followed and pointed out we were about to head into the Demon Clan Kingdom. I ordered everyone to get ready for the fights of their lives. They listened to my order rushing around. Ban had gotten Elaine to go stay with Elizabeth to keep her safe and comfortable. I took a deep breath, trying to think straight still. I knew I had to keep my head clear, I knew I couldn't lose control like I did in the last battle.
"Captain" Merlin spoke, getting me to look up to see her in front of me. A serious look in her eyes but a worried look on her face. She took a deep breath. "Please remember we don't have time to mess around. Our time is limited to save her" Merlin informed me in a harsh and upset tone. I only nodded in return. It was then we heard the warning horns from the kingdom up ahead. They had spotted us. I saw each member of the Sins were ready to move out. "Escanor you are to stay here, protect this place with your life" I ordered loudly.
He shouted 'yes Captain' while the rest of us left the tavern to see a small army of demons moving toward us. "Merlin, force out their most powerful" I then spoke pulling my sword Lostvayne out of its scarab. Merlin smirked and flew into the air, Aldan floating next to her. I had to figure out where Zeldris was. He and my brother Estarossa were the ones who would be delivering orders. I knew we had to lure him out. I knew I could get a deal with him very easy. I had something he wanted very dearly.
So dearly, it was the only reason he wanted to become the Demon King. I just had to try and keep my mind clear as I could. "Gowther, Ban, Diane. First defence" I ordered loudly getting them to shout 'got it' before rushing forward toward the army heading at us. Diane turning into her giant form while doing so. King was floating next to me. "King, your job is to keep people away from me and Zeldris" I then informed him. King nodded as he understood how important the job was. I closed my eyes feeling the demons around us.
I was able to sense them all creeping toward us fast. I was soon able to sense Cusack. Zeldris' right hand and teacher. Much how Chandler was mine. He was above watching from the sky. "Up" I nearly shouted as my eyes shot open. I grew demonic wings on my back as King and I flew straight up into the sky, past the clouds and Merlin's hight to see Cusack glaring toward us, his own demonic wings on his back while holding a sword in his hands. Cusack is a tall and muscular man with red hair that has bangs extending to cover his right eye and end in a long ponytail braided.
He also sports a very long moustache that reached his pectoral section and a small goatee. His demon mark consists of two black arrows extending below his left eye and a spot of darkness on his right shoulder that extends further around his arm. His attire consists of a skin-tight white vest shirt with no sleeves, black pants and high knee boots. On his forearms are detached white sleeves. Though this wasn't his true demonic form. Behind him was my youngest brother Zeldris. Demonic wings matching mine on his back.
"You really are back...Meliodas" Zeldris spoke harshly as my grip on Lostvayne tightened. King looked bored out of his mind floating next to me. Chastiefol in its spear form next to him. Though King looked bored and half asleep he was ready to fight. His eyes were on Cusack. As long as King had a clear view of his target, he would be able to fight them just fine and at any moment. "Zeldris, I want to talk with you" I spoke, keeping my voice calm as Zeldris only glared at me. He pulled his sword out as King was the first to move.
He hit Cusack fast and hard with a hit from Chastiefol. "I won't last too long with him Captain, be fast" he spoke before moving after Cusack, keeping him from myself and Zeldris. I kept myself calm as Zeldris came at me with a full attack. I had to keep to the main plan. I had to keep in control of myself.
