You were riding on a hover vehicle through a massive city when you stopped at an abandoned mall and entered it. You went to an arcade and entered the backrooms.

There, you went to your terminal and started typing.

"It's been a year since I woke up. I can hardly remember anything except for those two. Those two who I can't get out of my mind. I can't stop feeling warm when I see the smile."

You grabbed your head as your remembered that yourself in a faraway town that you apparently visited years ago.

"I, was with them. That woman, I think I called her my mom. I should find them. They might know something about me, and I could use a short break away from Endless."

Your armor formed around you, which has many red lines spread throughout it. You returned to your bike and headed to the edge of Endless.

After purchasing a small cargo air transport, you headed to Japan. Upon reaching there, you initiated cloaking and landed the vehicle in the forests.

You ended up near a cemetery and is drawn to it. After walking up, your funny feeling got stronger until your reached a grave, and you read who its dedicated to:

"Shuri Himejima."

Your head began to hurt and you grabbed it, remembering Shuri and her daughter, Akeno, including a terrible night that they faced.

(flashback begins)

You opened your eyes and struggled to stay up. You looked down at your body and saw that it has several wounds, and you were bleeding heavily.

You heard screaming from afar and crawled towards it.

"MOMMY! AKENO! DON'T HURT THEM! DON'T HURT THEM!"

You kept crawling until you saw Shuri and Akeno being held by metallic, skeletal creatures along with several men in kabuki masks. A tall masked man holding a pistol appears in front of you.

"Please. Give them back."

Infinite: "I have to admit, it does not bring me pleasure to deny you a proper fight."

Shuri: "Infinite! Let him go! He's done nothing!"

Akeno: "Leave him alone!"

"What are you waiting for?" one of the men asked. "Destroy that abomination!"

"Please!" you begged. "Give Mommy and Akeno back."

Infinite: "I'm afraid I cannot do that, Project Aeon. Give the babies what they want and crush the cockroach."

Some of the robotic beings fired at you before a larger one smashed you with a high-tech Morningstar. Akeno and Shuri watch helplessly as everything faded to black for you.

You looked at the grave again and slowly got up.

"Shuri," you said, starting to cry, "I'm sorry that I didn't save you."

You heard footsteps and a woman spoke to you.

"Oh, hello," she said. "Do you need help? Just let me talk to someone real quick and I can help."

You turned around and saw a girl with black hair tied up in a long ponytail.

The two of you looked and began to recognize each other. The girl slowly walked up to you and looked even closer at you.

"Y-Y/N?"

"Akeno? Is that really you?"

Akeno put her hands on your cheeks and noticed the birthmark you had since birth.

Akeno: "It... really... is..."

"Akeno...???"

Akeno: "It really is you!"

Akeno cried tears of joy and you did the same. After a few minutes, the both of you sat in front of Shuri's grave.

Akeno: "How are you alive? I saw them--"

"Turn me into paste? I thought so too. I don't know how, to be honest. I just started remembering you and her a few days ago. What the hell was going on that night?"

Akeno: "A man named Infinite came with his soldiers. He and the members of the clan that banished me and Mom. You protected us when my father wasn't there, but Infinite answered the clan's call and ended you. Mother gave her life to protect me. Infinite left and my father came, but it was too late. I ran until I met a Devil."

You looked at her in confusion.

"You met a Devil?"

Akeno: "I understand your confusion, but it's true. She took care of me. We go to the same school now."

"Nice to know you still had someone you can count on."

Akeno: "That's what I was telling myself for years."

"Akeno... I--"

Akeno: "You've been searching for answers regarding Infinite and Eternity ever since you came back."

"That was a guess?"

Akeno: "I just got lucky, but I'm guessing that now it's personal?"

"I made a promise to protect you two. Not only did I blow it, I ended up letting him kill Shuri."

Akeno: "It was the members of the clan, but he did kill you and took part in Mom's death. Why don't you stay here for a few days? There's a shrine I live at. I can introduce you to the others and we can discuss what to do."

"I could use a break from Endless, so why not?"

Akeno: "Great. We have a lot to catch up on. Let me show you around first."

Before you left with her, you looked back at Shuri's grave.

"Thanks for bringing me back here, Mom."
