"My mom took this picture. I remember being SO nervous.. but I just stared at you the entire time I gave my speech, and it made it all better."

"Aw really?  That's sweet.
.. Where was this?"

"This was at my aunt's wedding. I was super pregnant there! I was ready to eat my cake and go home." Jessica laughs.

"Aw.."

"Yeah, and this was the night I got pregnant." Jessica giggles.

"Was it really?" Sam laughs.

"Yep! Look at that smirk. I was ready!"

"Looks like it!"

"Yeah.. and this was two months after Autumn was born.. You had that mustache I hated! And I looked like I hadn't slept in months!"

"We look so happy though."

"We do.. We were."

"Why am I pinching your nose in these?"

Jessica looked at the pictures and immediately started to cry.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing.  It's just something cute you always did.  You thought my nose was cute.."

"Oh!  That's funny." Sam chuckles.

"Yeah.. real funny.."

A few days later.
Today Dorothy is going to be watching the kids at Sam and Jessica's.

"Mom, Sam is coming home today and things are going to be crazy!  Will you do me a favor and cook dinner before you go? Please?"

"Of course!  As long as you quit lying to me."

"Lying to you?"

"I know you're pregnant."

"Why do you say that?" Jessica chuckles nervously.

"I can just tell!" Dorothy pats her little tummy.

"Heh!  Yeah, I guess it's pretty obvious." Jessica rubs her stomach.
"I'm pregnant!" She smiled.

"Aw my baby's having a baby! Again!" Dorothy giggles.

"I know! It's so soon! We weren't even trying!"

"Have you ever had to try with Sam?" She chuckles.

"No! Never! It just happens! Ugh but I wanted to! That would've been fun! I mean, it was still fun, obviously! It's always fun with Sam." Jessica giggles.

"Alright, that's enough, young lady! So.. have you told Sam?"

"Yeah, a few days ago."

"Was he excited?"

"Yeah.. but the Sammy I know would have done cartwheels when I told him." Jessica sighs.

"Aw.. sweetie, I'm sorry. I know this is all so hard."

"It is but.. it could be so much worse. At least I have him." Jessica smiles softly with a sadness in her eyes.

"That's true, honey! And Sam will return to his old self. It might just take some time."

"Yeah."

"Do the kids know?"

"No, I think we might tell them tonight."

"How exciting!  They're gonna be so happy!"

"I hope so!"

"Honey, I'm home!" Jessica giggles as she walks into Sam's room.

"Hey Jess!"

"You ready to get the hell out of here?"

"Definitely!  I'm ready to relax in my own bed."

"I bet!  So.. do you want to tell the kids about the baby tonight?"

"Sure.  If that's what you want."

"Okay.. have any ideas on how we shout tell them?" Jessica smiles.

".. No."

"Oh.. Well I guess we can just tell them I'm pregnant.  It doesn't have to be all fancy!"

"Well.. we can stop buy the store and pick up a few baby things and wrap it up."

"Yeah!  That would be fun!  We could have them open it and they'd be all confused!" Jessica giggles.

"Yeah!" Sam chuckles.

"That's a good idea Sammy!"

"Thanks." He smiles.

"Oh my gosh, daddy's home!  My daddy's home!  Finally!" Julia shouts with excitement.  She had been sitting by the window all day just waiting for her parents to arrive.

All of the kids gathered around to greet him.  They decorated the house with balloons and streamers, and held little signs and said, Welcome Home Daddy!

While the kids waited for Sam and Jessica to enter the house, Jessica helped Sam out of the car and into his wheelchair.

"Jessica, just put the break on and I'll stand up."

"No, let me help you!  You're not strong enough to do it by yourself yet."

"You're pregnant, you shouldn't be doing this."

"I'm okay!  Don't worry, honey."

Once Sam was in his wheelchair, Jessica grabbed her purse and Sam's bag.
"Now I can hold that in my lap.  Hand it over." Sam holds his hands up.

"Thanks, honey!"

Jessica then wheeled him to the door right when Dorothy opened it holding Evangeline on her hip.

"WELCOME HOME, DADDY!" The kids shout.

"Oh wow!  Look at all this!  Thanks, guys." Sam smiles.

"Dada!" Theodore shouts.

"Hi, buddy!"

"Hi daddy!  I Juju, remember?"

"Yes!  Hi Juju." Sam chuckles.

"HI!"

The kids didn't leave Sam's side, they just talked, and talked, and talked!

"Thank you so much for helping me with the kids, mom. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Aw honey, it's not a problem! I've had fun with these little rascals!"

Jessica smiles as Dorothy kisses her cheek.
"I'm gonna head on home and let you announce your little surprise!" She says patting her small tummy.

"Alright!  Be safe, momma."

"I will, baby!"

All of the kids sat around the dinner table, Theodore and Evangeline in their highchairs.
"Okay guys, this is Evie's very first taste of real food!"

"Oh I hope she likes it!" Julia says.

"Well let's see! Open up, Evangeline."

Evangeline opens her little mouth, and Jessica sticks the spoon in.

"I don't think baby likes it." Landon says.

"Nope! Look at her face!" Autumn laughs.

"Oh come on, Evie! It's only carrots! You suck on your own toes, I'm sure you can eat this!"

"Just keep feeding her, maybe she'll get used to it." Sam suggests.

"I am! I'm not stopping to nurse her right now.  I'm hungry!"

"I no think she like it, mama." Julia nods.

"Not so much, but she'll be okay."

"I like my sketti!" She smiles.

"I can tell, baby. It's all over your face!" Jessica laughs.

"Yeah! It yummy!" Julia wiggles in her seat.

"Say cheeeese!
  Oh perfect! This is going in your baby book!" Jessica says.

"Alright, Juju and Teddy, come with mommy so you can wash your sketti hands."
Jessica takes Theodore out of his high chair, and Julia hops down.

After washing their hands they take off to play.
Autumn helped her mother by picking up a few plates, and Landon did the same.

"Aw! My big kids! Thanks for the help, you two!"

"You're welcome, mommy!"

"No problem, Jessie." Landon smiles.

Sam then sticks his plate in his lap before wheeling himself to the sink.

"Oh! Well thank you!" Jessica giggles and takes his plate from his lap.

"No problem. I feel bad that you have to do everything."

"Oh sweetie, it's okay! When I was pregnant and married to Danny, he had me cooking, cleaning, and running after the kids! I'm used to this." Jessica giggles.

"Oh.."

"Yeah. Do you have to use the restroom? I can take you before I load up the dishwasher."

"No, I'm okay for right now. Thank you."

"No problem! Why don't you go into the living room with the kids?  I'll be right in and we can tell them the good news."

"Alright." Sam smiles softly.

After picking up the kitchen, Jessica grabbed the little gift bags they had for the kids.

"What's that? We got presents?!"

"Yep! Everyone come sit down! You have to open it together."

"No I wanna go first!" Julia pouts.

"Together, or you don't get one."

"FINE!"

"Alright, sit down.
Now here, just hold it."

"What is this for?" Autumn asks.

"You'll see! Alright ready?"

"YES!" The kids shout.

"Ready, daddy?" Jessica gives Sam a smile.

"I'm ready!"

"Okay loves.. open them!"

"Wha-What this? This is baby clothes, it no FIT ME!" Julia throws her light green onesie she opened.

"Dis baby shoooooes!" Theodore giggles. "CUUUUUUTE!"

"Mommy?" Autumn looks at Jessica with a serious expression.

"Yes?" Jessica giggles.

"Are you?"

"Yep!"

"Oh my gosh." She runs over and hugs her mother as she cries.

"Don't cry cause mommy gives bad gifts, sissy." Julia says.

Sam laughs and says, "Kids, do you know what this means?"

"You think we're babies?" Landon asks.

"They all Vangie's pwesents?" Julia asks.

"Nope!"

"Mama baby!" Theodore smiles.

Jessica laughs.
"Teddy Weddy got it right!"

"Yes! Mommy's having a baby!" Sam says.

"What?!"

"There's a baby in her belly!"

"Oh no! AGAIN?!" Julie shouts.

"Juju, be nice."

"Das so many babies, daddy!"

"YAY BABY!" Theodore claps his hands.

"Aw! Teddy's happy!"

"I'm happy too! You're really having a baby, Jessie?" Landon asks.

"Yep! Can't you tell?" Jessica laughs and grabs her belly.

"Well I noticed your tummy, but I didn't want to be rude."

"Oh what a gentleman!" Jessica giggles.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" He asks.

"It's still kinda small, so we don't know yet."

"I hope it's a boy!"

"No a GIRL!" Julia shouts.

"As long as it's happy and healthy, right daddy?" Jessica smiles and leans in close to Sam for a kiss.

"Right!" Sam smiles softly and kisses Jessica's forehead.

"Can I feel it?" Landon asks.

"Of course!" Jessica scoots her bottom forward and he places his hand on her belly.

"ME TOO! ME TOO!" Julia shouts.

"It's okay, there's room for everyone." Jessica smiles.

Autumn places her hand on her mother's abdomen, and Theodore just watches them.

"Do you wanna feel the baby, Theo?"

"YA!" He smiles.

"Give me your little hand." Jessica holds her hand out for him.
She then places it on her bump and Theodore giggles. "Da-dat bab-baby?"

"Yeah, that's the baby!"

"It n-n-no move?"

"It's moving!  It's just too little for you to feel."

"Mama feel baby?"

"Yeah, I can feel the baby." Jessica giggles.
She then turns to Sam and smiles cutely.

Sam quickly snapped out of his thoughts when Jessica turned to him.
He then smiled and nodded his head.

"Evie baby!  You're gonna be a big sister!" Jessica says to the baby who was playing on the ground.

"You wanna come feel the baby?"

Evangeline sighs and looks down at her toys.

"It's okay, you take your time." Sam says making Jessica laugh.

Jessica then cuddles into Sam and kisses his cheek.

One week later.

"Four days till Halloween, those costume shops were nuts!" Jessica says helping Theodore out of his coat.

"Did they all find costumes?" Sam ask
Sam had stayed back at the house, and his mother came over to help him.

"They did!" Jessica smiles.

"I'm-" Landon starts.

"I go first!" Julia shouts.
"I gonna be a scary scary bear!"

"Aw! That's so cute!" Sa smiles.

"NO! I gonna be SCARY!"

"Oh, I'm sorry! What is everyone else gonna be?"

"I'm gonna be a firefighter!" Landon smiles.

"And Teddy's costume is a surpwise!"

"A surprise?"

"YEP!"

"Well I can't wait!  What are you gonna be, Autumn?"

"I'm too old for dressing up, dad."

"Oh well excuse me!"

"You're never too old for Halloween, Autumn! I told her I'd come with something for her to wear." Jessica says.

"And what about Evangeline?"

Jessica smiles and lightly bounces the baby on her hip.
"It's her first Halloween, so it has to be super special, right Evie?" Jessica kisses her cheek.
Evangeline laughs and slaps Jessica in the face.

"Hey!" The baby giggles even harder at her mother's reaction.

"You little fart!  Now tell daddy what you're going to be!
  Say, I'm gonna be Cookie Monster, daddy!"

"Ah!  AHHHH!" Evangeline screams and reaches for Sam.

"Such a daddy's girl!  Such a big daddy's girl!" Jessica baby talks and hands her to Sam.
"Be careful she doesn't hit you, baby."

"She's okay.. Cookie Monster, huh?  How cool is that?"

"AH!  DADA!" Evangeline smiles.

Sam looks at Jessica with wide eyes.
"She's never said that before, has she?"

"No she hasn't!" Jessica smiles with tears in her eyes.
"Oh such a smart baby!"

"Dada!" She giggles. "Dada!  Dada!  DADA!"

"Oh my gosh, I'm gonna explode!  Her sweet little voice is killing me!"

"Oh no!  Mommy, don't die!" Julia shouts.

"I'm not, baby." Jessica laughs.

Halloween.

"Okay Theodore!  Come on out!"

"PWIZE!" Theodore runs out and shouts.

"Oh wow!  You look so cool!  What are you supposed to be?" Sam asks.

"Honey, you're a huge Harry Potter nerd!  I never understood it but.. Anyway, we picked this one special for you!"

"Well thank you!  Is is a tv show?  I'll have to rewatch it."

"It not a TB show, silly!" Julia laughs.

"It's okay, Juju.  Daddy, I'll start reading the first book to you!  We'll do a little bit every night!" Autumn says.

"Aw that's sweet!" Jessica smiles.

"Thank you, Autumn." Sam smiles softly.

That evening.

Jessica helped Sam into bed before she changed into her pajamas.

"Comfortable, sweetie?"

"Yeah.. thanks."

"You're welcome!" Jessica smiles and kisses his forehead.

"Alright, I'm gonna use the restroom and get changed."

"Alright.."

Jessica looked at him for a second before heading to the bathroom.
While alone, Jessica let a few tears fall down her cheeks.  Jessica wanted her Sammy back.  He was so different than the way he used to be.  He wasn't loving, he wasn't very talkative, and he hasn't touched Jessica since before the accident.

Jessica thought that maybe he thought she didn't want him touching her.  That's why tonight, Jessica is going to take the first step.  Of course Sam is limited on what he can do, but Jessica isn't.  And she wanted to be touched!

Wiping her tears away and stepping out of the bathroom, Jessica gave Sam a sweet smile.

"Hi!" She says cutely.

"Hey.."

"What are you watching?"

"Nothing." Sam looks at the blank tv screen.

"Oh.." Jessica then walks over to the bed and lays beside him.

"Did you have a fun day, baby?" She asks placing her hand on his chest.

"Yeah, it was nice.  I had fun."

"Good!" Jessica then kisses his shoulder and reaches over to grab his hand.
She smiles and places it on her side as she nibbles at his ear.

"Jessica.."

"Shhh.." She blows hot air onto his ear.
She then slides his hand up to her breasts, then slides her hand down to cup his bulge.

"Stop!  Jessica, stop it, please!" Sam gently pushes her away.

"Why?  What's wrong?"Jessica looks at him with a confused expression.

"I'm sorry but I can't!"

"Well I know you can't, but you can touch Me!" She smiles.

"No!  Jessica.. you are a very very nice woman.."

"Okay?"

Sam sighs and continues. "Maybe I felt a certain way before this happened, but I don't remember that.  I don't know if I ever will.  Right now I'm grieving the loss of my wife.  Maybe it's been a while, but to me it's just happened."

"I.. I'm sorry.  I guess I just.. wasn't thinking about that."

"Jessica.. for right now.. I feel like we should just be friends.. who happen to have kids together."

"You're breaking up with me?" Jessica asks, tears filling her eyes.
"But.. Sammy, you love me.."

"Do I?!  Because, I don't know what I love!  I don't know if I was a freaking vegetarian or if I was a criminal!  I don't know anything!  Right now I'd rather focus on building a friendship.  I need to get to know you, Jessica."

Jessica moved over to her side of the bed as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I can't believe this."

"I think I should move in with my parents." Sam suddenly says.

"What?!"

"This whole living situation is just so awkward for me."

"Sammy!" Jessica's voice sounded so hurt.

"I'm sorry."

Jessica then quickly stands up, grabbing her pillow and a blanket.

"You can stay in the bed.  You're pregnant, I won't kick you out of the room."

"No!  If you're breaking up with me, I'm not sleeping in here.  I'm sorry if all I've done it annoy you!
I was just taking care of the man I love."

"Jess-"
Jessica slams the door before Sam could continue.

Jessica couldn't get any sleep at all.
She just couldn't stop crying.  She wondered if her life would ever be the same.  Has she lost Sam for good this time?

"What did I do in my life that was so wrong?  What did I do to deserve this?
  Why do these things keep happening to me?  I just want to be happy!"

Jessica sobbed and sobbed for hours.
Then suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, followed by a trickle in her underwear.
She gasped and quickly looked into her pajama bottoms and underwear.

"No!  Oh my gosh!" She panics.
