You're Beautiful...
A/N: Song on the side is my drug >>>>
It was Friday Evening and I was curled up with Gee on his couch as we watched the first Batman movie.
As the ending credits came up, Gerard slapped my ass, making me jump.
"Go make coffee and i'll meet you upstairs after i've turned everything off and fed the fish." He said, pointing to the fishtank where the two goldfish were swimming at the top, waiting for flakes.
I nodded and kissed his cheek before patting his thigh and using it to help me get up off of the couch.
I grabbed the cups of of the coffee table and went out to the kitchen.
I filled up the kettle and flicked it on.
I made the coffees and took them upstairs where Gerard was lying on the bed in just boxers.
I smirked as I handed him his cup and he thanked me.
I sat next to him and slowly drank my coffee, happy with the comfortable silence.
"Are you planning on doing anything special this weekend?" Gerard asked suddenly, placing his cup down next to him on the table.
I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.
"No. Why?" I replied.
"Because I want to take you out."
I looked at Gerard with wide eyes.
What was he thinking?
"Gerard..." I sighed.
"I don't mean around here. I mean take you somewhere no one knows us. Like New York. A weekend break." He smiled a small, hopeful smile.
I was about to reply when I got a text.
Witch: Where are you? We've been grateful enough to take you into our lives, give you a bed, feed you, keep you clean, a roof over your head and in school for the past seven years and this is how you repay us? Get your ass home right now. You've been out all week probably sleeping around as per usual and i'm fucking done with it. Get home now.
I caught my breath in my throat.
"What's up?" Gerard asked.
"I-It's nothing. I need to go. My adopted parents want me home. I'll let you know about New York later ok?" I smiled a crooked and unconvincing smile before getting off the bed.
"If you're sure." He sighed as I came round his side of the bed to kiss his lips before nodding.
I gathered my stuff and waited for Gee to get dressed before heading downstairs.
He grabbed his keys, locked the front door once we were out and unlocked the car.
We got in and pulled out of the driveway.
The drive was silent. I just stared out of the window the whole way.
Truth was, I was thinking about what was going to happen when I got home...
Gerard pulled into a space at the end of the street and I kissed him goodbye.
"Remember to let me know about our trip." He smiled.
"I know." I replied and ran my knuckles down his cheekbone, making him smile more.
I unclipped my seatbelt and got out, waving goodbye as pulled away.
I walked about half way down the street until I got to the front door and walked down the small path to unlock it.
I stepped in and my adopted mother; Heather and adopted father; George rushed to the door to the living area, looking at me as if they were worried.
But I knew they weren't.
"How was the party?" I asked.
"What are you going on about?" George asked, spitefully.
"You know... The party you had to celebrate the fact I was gone."
They scoffed, making me smirk.
It wouldn't have surprised me if they'd had one to be honest...
"Where the fuck have you been?" Heather asked, folding her arms over her chest.
"Out." I simply said, heading towards the stairs.
George grabbed my arm, making me look at him with furious eyes.
"Fuck. Off." I told him through gritted teeth.
His hand then swung for my cheek, slapping it hard.
I put my own hand to the now bit of my face that was then probably redder than Gerard's hair.
"Don't tell me what to do you stupid bitch. We want answers, now where the fuck have you been for the past week." He demanded.
"I've already fucking told you George. I've been out." I rolled my eyes.
Another slap to the face...
"Would you fucking quit doing that?" I raised my voice.
"When you stop with the language!" He retorted.
"I'm seventeen and i'll say what the fuck I like. I'm not your kid remember." I scoffed, ripping my arm from George's grasp before running upstairs to my room.
I packed enough for at least the weekend and some school stuff, extra packets of Marlboro and my lucky Zippo lighter.
I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed Gerard's number, wiping the tears from my cheeks.
"Hey Scar, what's up?" He sounded slightly cheery.
"Gerard please... You have to come and get me. My adopted parents are being complete assholes. My so called 'dad' just slapped me twice and-"
"He slapped you?" Gerard sounded worried now.
"Mhm." Was all I could get out.
"If you don't open this door right now, I am going to fucking break it down!" The raging boom of George's voice outside my room came thundering through the hinges.
"Oh my God. I'm on my way." He said, before the sound of keys jangling could be heard from his end.
"I'll climb out the window and meet you round the corner." I replied.
"Ok. Just be careful. I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to you."
His words melted my heart.
It seemed as though the banging on my door hand stopped and the only things I could hear were his words and my heart beat.
I was like a scene from a movie, now about to bring out some soppy love music.
But that would mean I loved Gerard. But I didn't. I hadn't even known him a week.
We said our brief goodbyes and I zoned out until my text alert rang through my ears.
Gerard: I'm in the same place I dropped you off at. Bring as much as you can and come down. Xx
I packed a few more clothes and my savings totalling at $2000.
I then opened my window as quietly as possible and climbed down the trellis, jumping over the plants at the foot of the wooden panelling.
I jogged round the hose, ducking at the windows in case Heather was downstairs before turning left and running down the street until I saw Gerard's car.
I looked back once more, making sure I hadn't been spotted and opened up the trunk of the car.
Gerard stepped out of the driver's side and quickly came to me, pulling me in for a tight hug.
"Are you ok?" He asked, stroking my hair soothingly.
I nodded into his chest, letting the tears run free.
"I'll be fine. I'm with you now."
Gerard let out a soft chuckle and kissed my head before taking my backpack and putting it in the trunk.
We got in the car and Gerard opened my window after a while's silence.
"You can smoke if you want. I know you're stressed." He smiled a little.
I smiled back and nodded.
"Thank you."
I took out the half full Marlboro packet and took a cigarette out.
"Would you like one?" I asked.
He chuckled and nodded. "Sure."
Gerard took one from the packet and waited until I had lit mine before he did the same.
We took a simultanious drag and blew it out of the windows.
"Have you got everything for the weekend?" Gerard asked, exhaling the smoke.
I nodded.
"And a little more because you told me to bring what I could." I replied.
He nodded.
"We're going tonight."
"Ok." I simply replied, not questioning him.
We got to Gerard's house and got out.
"Help me choose what to wear?" He asked after opening the front door.
"Hell, if I had my way, you'd be naked for the whole weekend." I smirked.
"Right back at ya." He smiled a smug smile and jogged up the stairs.
I followed shortly after him and got to his room just as he took a small suitcase from under the bed.
He placed it on the sheets and opened it up.
I went over to his closet and opened the drawer at the top of a unit that was on the left of the closet, on the floor, finding boxer breifs and socks.
I took out two of each and handed them to him.
"Thank you." He smiled, kissing my head before placing them in the suitcase.
I picked him out a couple of shirts, one black and yellow one with two red 'x's on the right sleeve and '05' on the left side of the chest and the other was a plain dark blue one that had the neck cut out so it was deeper.
Gerard took a black leather jacket from his closet and a black pair of skinnies.
He packed his hair stuff, shower stuff, body stuff and anything else we needed before heading back out in the car.
We stopped at a gas station to fuel up, even though New York was just half an hour away.
I waited in the car whilst Gerard filled up and paid.
When he came back, he handed me a bottle of Pepsi Max.
"You look like a Pepsi girl." He shrugged, making me chuckle as I took it from him.
"I am." I laughed. "Thanks."
"Not a problem beautiful." He smiled and started up the engine.
I looked at him with wide eyes as he was about to pull out of the gas station.
"What?" He chuckled.
"You called me beautiful." I said, almost inaudibly.
"Yeah? You are." Gerard smiled, resting a hand on my thigh.
"No one's called me that in years."
Gee looked at me with the same expression as I gave him a second before.
"I can't believe that." He scoffed.
"It's true." I told him. "It's always been 'you're hot' or 'i'd fuck you so hard' or shit like that. Never anything genuine."
His gaze turned sympathetic.
"Just made me feel kinda cheap ya know?" I chuckled humorlessly.
"Scarlett, look at me." He said, making my eyes connect with his. "I will never make you feel cheap, or worthless, or anything but the most beautiful girl on the planet. And that's a promise."
His words brought tears to my eyes.
They were genuine.
As some of the salty liquid trickled down my cheek, close to my open mouth, Gerard smiled and wiped my tear away with his thumb.
"Pull over. As soon as you can." I told him, my words barely above a whisper.
Gerard did as I asked and pulled over into a small layby on Newark Avenue and pulled up the hand break.
"Get out." I told him.
He gave me a confused look, but did so and I did the same.
We met at the bonnet of the car and I wrapped my arms round his neck, tightly.
He chuckled lowly and hugged me round my waist, as if he was never going to let go.
"Thank you." I whispered.
"I only told you the truth." He whispered back.
My heart melted at his words.
Because his voice made them sound so true...
