Happy Birthday
Alice laid in bed, thinking about the birthday party she'd just had. She was five (almost an adult, her aunt said), and her party had included almost every animatronic, except Toy Freddy, of course. She didn't like him, he was mean. She hummed "Happy Birthday", remembering how her mother had sang it as she lit five candles.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you..." Alice sang as she clutched her plushies. It had, of course, been five years since she'd gotten them. She had blurry memories of that day, her parents standing over her, and her attempting to grasp their fingers in her tiny hands.
"Happy birthday, dear plushies... happy birthday to-" She was cut off by a loud thud, and a sort of a splattering noise.
She crawled beneath her sheets, clutching the plushies and pondering what to do. On one hand, both her parents had warned her not to investigate the sounds outside at night without them. But on the other hand, this sounded really bad. And she knew she could face danger, everyone said she was brave, and she wanted to be a pirate when she got older, just like her mommy and daddy.
She finally ended up leaving her plushies tucked in beneath the covers, telling them to stay there. She grabbed a plastic sword from her toy box and carried it in her hand, quickly shimmying her way through the vent and out into the Parts and Service, heaving open the heavy metal door and looking around.
She noticed a trail of red footprints near the stage, leading into Kid's Cove. Well, red was never good. She didn't know what it was, though, so she followed it. She noticed the same red was covering Toy Freddy. Weird...
"Mommy?" She slowly opened the Kid's Cove door and paused, going slightly wide-eyed.
"... m-mommy...?"
