Gerard had just got off the phone the next day and walked back into the kitchen, where I was fixing some breakfast for Beth.

He had the biggest grin.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Guess who's just got a job?" He chuckled.

"Uhhh... " I pretended thought. "The president?"

"Pretty sure he already has a job..." Gerard chuckled, moving over to wrap his arms round my waist from behind.

"I don't know... I give up." I sighed.

"Your's truly." He winked.

I squealed and turned around in his arms, hugging him round the neck.

"Babe that's awesome!"

"Yeah. Sent my artwork to an illustrator's and they want to turn it into a comic series." He grinned.

"Awesome! You're gonna be at home with us all the time." I chuckled, kissing his lips.

I fed Beth and we chilled for a few hours before heading out for a celebratory lunch at iHop.

Beth had waffles - as always - whereas Gerard and I had breakfast pancakes.

"I'm getting a babysitter tonight, I'm taking you out to dinner." Gerard told me on the car ride home.

"Ok." I chuckled.

It felt weird...

Like he was nervous to say it...

I fixed my floor length, black dress and stood up in my black, sparkly heels. I fixed my hair, which was in a loose, but formal bun.

My makeup was basic smokey eyes and dark red lipstick.

I walked downstairs where Gerard was waiting in his suit.

He smiled as he saw me.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Of course." I giggled.

I grabbed my purse with my phone and keys and left Beth with the babysitter, who turned out to be Hayley.

"See ya Hayles." I called just before Gerard closed the door.

We went to the restaurant and ordered. Everything seemed normal but... Not.

Gerard seemed a little on edge the our waitress kept smiling at me whenever she saw me or passed our table.

We finished eating and our plates were taken from us and Gerard never took his eyes off me for a solid five minutes.

"Seriously Gee, what's wrong?" I asked, growing frustrated.

"I asked you to dinner for a reason Scarlett. I love you so much and we've been through more than most couples. I'm really shitty at speeches so I'll just come out and say it." Gerard stood up and got on one knee, holding out a ring box, showing off a beautiful silver ring with a ruby in the middle - my favorite stone. "Will you do me the greatest honor of marrying me?" 

I couldn't take my eyes off him...

I couldn't breathe...

I saw the waitress in my line of site. She was grinned and nodded her head frantically.

"Yes."
