Max woke up from someone shaking his shoulder. He felt sore as he started to gain control of his body. He opened his eyes and stretched, yawning in the process. Stood beside him was Krista with a worried expression on her face.

"Why'd you sleep on the floor Behboo?" Her eyes gleamed with curiosity as Max changed his gaze to Alexis.

She was facing the couch cushions while still fast asleep.

"Lex wanted me to stay till she fell asleep, must of fallen asleep too," Max answered, rubbing his eyes. Krista nodded and walked back to their shared room.

Max looked back at his sleeping angel, a small smile resting on his face, and walked back into his room.

A L E X I S

"So this is them? They're so happy its revolting," I giggled as I watched the family of four, the mother heavily pregnant. The family was setting up a picnic in forest. I looked over to Reaper and he was looking down at me, resting his boney fingers on my shoulder. I could feel the darkness radiating off them, giving me a energizing burst.

"Why yes it is Alexandria, are you excited darling?"

I watched the father chase after the children, a girl and a boy, while the mother sat on the blanket with her back to a tree.

"Well yeah but, I've never been human before. I've just been in the human world watching and killing them, as you command. What if I fail? What if I can't kill them."

"You called their happiness revolting, you will do just fine Alexandria," Reap caressed my cheek, a smile edging onto my face.

I gripped my scythe in my hand, pulling my hood over my head.

"Go kill the unborn child," Reap instructed.

"But it'll go straight to heaven if I'm not quick enough to grab it," I spoke up and he gave me a sickly smile.

"We have no business with the child, it won't be the end of the world darling. Now quickly, the woman's water just broke."

"Bye Reap! See you in hell!"

"See you soon my Lil' Reaper."

M A X

I woke up to high pitched screaming. I shot out of bed and ran to the living room, pushing Alexis' head into my chest, trying to silence her screaming.

"Hey baby, calm down. I've got you, no one is going to hurt you, shhh," I said softly, rocking back and forth.

After a while Alexis calmed down a bit, at least she stopped screaming. I looked up to see a startled Shelby holding a baseball bat and Krista with a worried expression.

"Shed but the bat down!" I teased as I picked up Alexis.

"I thought it was an intruder," Shelby tried to defend herself, failing miserable. "I'll go put this back in the closet," Shelby said, smiling sheepishly.

"Welp, looks like everyone is awake now. Wanna head out for breakfast?" I asked, Krista nodded and Shelby shouted a loud 'FOOD'.

"I'll go get ready," Krista said, retreating back to our room.

I turned my attention back down at Alexis, kissing the top of her head.

"Hey Lexi," I said with a smile. Alexis looked up at me, cheeks tear stained. "I love you."

"I love you too Daddy," Alexis said with a smile on her face. I wiped her tears with the pad of my thumb.

"Wanna tell me about your nightmare baby girl?" I said softly and she shook her head. "Okay then, lets go get you ready."

Maybe Alexis was right, maybe it was never love in the first place...

"Hey Max! I'm heading out to meet up with some friends from high school, wanna come with?" Krista called as she walked into the room.

"I don't think they'd want a four year old around and I don't think Alexis would want to come. She seems pretty tired," I said looking up from my phone.

"Ask Shelby if she can babysit, I'm sure she won't mind. Its only for an hour or two," Krista begged and I shrugged.

"Only if it's okay with Shelby," I said and Krista nodded with a smile on her face. I kissed her cheek before leaving the room. "Hey Shelby!" I called and walked into the kitchen. Alexis and Shelby were having a conversation and stopped talking when I walked in.

"Yeah Max?" Shelby asked looking over at him.

"Can you watch Alexis for a couple hours? I'm going out to meet some of Krista's friends and I'm going with her," I explained and Shelby's eyes lit up.

"Yes, I would love to look after pumpkin!" Shelby said, her high pitched voice going up an octave, if that was even possible.

"First off, OWW!" I shouted and Shelby laughed. "Second off, thanks Shelby and call me if anything happens alright?" I said and Shelby nodded a smile on her face.

"Everything will be fine Max, I promise the bean will be safe with me," Shelby said and I nodded and walked out of the room.

I ran over to Alexis and picked her up from behind, throwing her up in the air.

A surprised squeal escaped her lips before she started laughing loudly.

"Hey baby girl," I said, kissing her cheek.

"Hi Daddy," she giggled, smiling at me. She kissed my cheek and I felt myself smiling like an idiot.

"I love you Alexis," I said smiling, Alexis held tightly in my arms.

"I love you more!" Alexis challenged and I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Impossible!" I shouted and Alexis started to giggle more.

"It is possible!" I carefully threw Alexis on the couch and started tickling her sides.

"Daddy stop!" Alexis pleaded, laughing harder.

Nothing could ruin this moment. Just me and my daughter, smiling and laughing together.

Yet there was an unsettling feeling in my stomach that made me feel sick.

Was it ever love?

Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since I last posted a chapter so I hope these three make up for it! Probably not but I tried

Hope you enjoys and not going to lie, I've fallen into other fandoms. Marvel, DC comics, Kingsman and Stranger Things.

Don't get me wrong, I still love Max, Ross, Shubs, Krista and Tim but my interests have changed. I had developed a habit of any time there is a guy in the story idea I have it's Max (hence Max X OC for my English project on my 'Venting creativity' book [I got a 93% and he said it was the longest story he had revived from a student, ever]) so I'll probably drop a small story there every so often.

If you guys wanna see some Marvel FF comment and I've been wanting to start a 'Tony Stark is my father' story so... yeah 😅

I don't know if I'll finish this story or not but I'll try. School has been hard really been stressful.
