Chapter Sixteen
Jonathan
Evan went back to take a nap, I just sat on the couch, flipping through the channels. I watched as every channel tortured me. "The raccoons always stay together, of course both the mother and father and their group of babies, all one happy family."
"See how the baby giraffe takes it's very first steps-"
"Your baby's knowledge depends on the parenting-"
"No! No! No!" Edward screamed as he bit Bella multiple times, the camera moving to Bella's pale face, their baby girl in the other room, Jacob waiting to kill it. I instantly turned off the T.V and chucked the remote. I wondered around the house and saw many old pictures. I smiled and ran my hands down the hallway walls. As I moved closer to the guest room I heard music, no, not a song, an instrument. I peeked through the door, Evan had his guitar, the exact guitar he played in our dorm. I didn't see him pack it though. I watched as he sat on the bed, strumming the chords, making the most beautiful noise. He chuckled as he look at his belly, "You like that noise don't you?" He strummed a little softer and a softer noise came through. "That means you'll like Daddy's other music, he can play anything, and its beautiful." He softly chuckled as a few tears escaped his eyes. I let out a shaky breath and shut the door, letting Evan go to sleep.
I walked out onto the back porch, the sun setting, just like how I proposed to Evan. I sighed and hoped Harold was right about most of those things. I slightly smiled when I spotted the beautiful backyard we were going to have our wedding at. The backyard I grew up in. My smile grew when I found the hammock Jenny and I fucked with all the time, I think she accidentally sprained my wrist on it. The memory flashed by, of Jenny pushing the hammock with her feet, both of us tumbling off, Jenny falling right onto my arm, crushing my wrist. I chuckled and brushed my hand against the texture of the hammock. I easily got on it, and looked at the sky, watching the stars come out. I slowly fell into a daydream, a musical one with my musical affinity.
It was just me, myself and I, in a lavender field, sitting on top of a little hill, seeing over all the lavender. I was laying on the hill, looking at the sky. I turned my head as I heard the little guitar start playing. It was Evan, standing by a huge beautiful cherry tree. He looked like a ghost, or a spirit, something, he just looked a bit misty. I watched as he strummed and the rest of the music started playing. I realized the song, oh no...
Tie the knot, tie the noose.
Here we lie, in love and truth,
In a coffin built for two.
When all that's left,
Is skin and bones,
I'll still have love for you.
The setting changed and Evan was now lifeless, wrapped up in a beautiful silk fabric, David already burning it. I screamed and my arms felt heavy as I looked down, I was holding a baby. Then Evan started singing.
Rest in Peace, rest with me,
Through the dark, and through the light,
I'll hold you close, I'll hold you tight,
Forever yours, forever more, forever more,
So close your eyes, for one last time,
If tonight we fall asleep,
I'll pray my soul be yours to keep, to keep.
I screamed and washed out of my daydream. Someone was shaking the hammock. "Jon! Jonathan! Baby, please wake up!" I finally came back and looked into his brown eyes, I pulled him down into the hammock with me. "You're okay." I sobbed and traced his wonderful tattoos. He turned and looked at me, the stars shinning in his brown eyes. "Of course I'm okay, I'm with you." He smiled and snuggled his way into my arms, both of us looking up at the stars. I smiled and watched as a shooting star went across the sky. I made a small wish and moved my hand onto Evan's belly. He softly giggled and turned his head and kissed me. I kissed back, and moved both my hands to caress his face. He moved his to my face, both of our lips moving with a lovely motion. That motion started to rock the hammock. Evan gasped and grabbed onto the sides of the hammock. "I don't want to fall." He desperately whispered in my ear. I chuckled, "I won't let you fall." His brown eyes locked with my blue ones, "The only time I wanna fall is when I fell for you." With that we carefully made out on the hammock.
David
"Got all ye things packed?" I asked my little buddy. "Yeah, just can't find the pain cream."
"For your leg?" He nodded and limped over to the bathroom. I stopped him and made him sit down, "I'll get it."
"Thank you David." He whispered. All of a sudden I felt air and giggles around me, I turned and watched as Lui smiled at me. "Sorry." He laughed. I laughed along and grabbed the medicine. I put it in our little bathroom bag and sat down beside Lui. "So, do you know why we're going to Virginia so early?" He asked. I shrugged, "Maybe they want to have the wedding before Evan..." Lui looked at me, understanding in his face. "Yeah... but we'll make it the best thing Evan's gonna have." I laughed at Lui's goofy smile, "What about the baby shower?" Lui giggled, "Of course that too! And all the great times we've had together!" He cheered and I had a sudden urge to hug him, so I did. He was a little surprised, but the hug was beautiful. Air and fire were all around us, messing with our hair and clothing. I pulled away and saw Lui's cheeks red. I smirked and watched as he turned away, "It's from the heat of your element." He explained. I chuckled and grabbed his hand, "You ready?" I asked as we both stood up. Lui's phone went off, "Yeah, the rest of them are down there waiting." I took a deep breath and looked at Lui, "Welp, let's go save Jevan..."
"Jevan?" Lui chuckled.
"Yeah it's their ship name!"
"You are one weird vampyre David, but you're our weird vampyre."
