Chapter Fifteen
Brock
Luce and I were walking down to the dorms' mail boxes. Not a lot of kids used them, but Luce kept getting feelings that we should check them. I quickly give Luce the key and she opens the box. A letter is inside. She gives me a look and grabs my hand, dragging us back to the room. She plopped on the bed and ripped open the letter, a card fell out. Luce grabbed it and opened it, gasping when she did. She jumped off the bed and wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me multiple times. I laughed, "Luce what is it?"
"Evan and Jon are getting married, and you're Evan's best man!" Happiness washed through me, and I let my element go, I let Earth roam happily. Luce started giggling, probably from the happiness of the element. I grabbed Luce and spun her around, both of us happily laughing. "I'm the best man!" I cheered as we kept spinning. I stopped when Luce's face expression changed. "What?" I asked, and grabbed the card out of her hands. "Woah... why is it so soon?" Luce looked me in the eye and frowned. "A growing fledgling probably grows faster than a regular human baby." Luce's eyes filled with tears, I grabbed her and squeezed her, "Shhh, we're gonna make this a happy wedding, okay?" She nodded and I wiped away her tears. "I love you, Brock."
"I love you too, Luce."
Evan
"Oh my goddess! It looks just like the one I wore to your pyre!" I smiled at Jon as I checked myself out in the mirror. I saw him in the reflected image and smiled. I watched as his eyes traveled. I cleared my throat and he looked up. "You look beautiful." He did a cute little sideways smile. I smiled back, "Thank you. Even though I gained like 10 pounds." Jon chuckled and helped me down the little designing area. That's when Jenny and Harold walked in. Harold was the designer. I wobbled over to him and hugged him, "Thank you so much." He surprisingly hugged back. "No problem, it was a pleasure, and I wish you two luck." He sadly smiled and walked back to his office. "Wait, don't we have to pa-?" Harold cut Jon off, "No, this one is special." Before he turned around I swear I saw a tear.
Once Jon and I got into the car, I realized. I gasped and grabbed Jon, "What?! No! Not already!" He started tearing up. "No! Jon! That man, Harold, he was the lover of Thomas." He gave me a confused look, "Okay?"
"Remember in the book?!"
"What boo- Ohhhh."
"Yeah! Don't you think we could get some answers from him?"
"Evan... I don't think he'd be comfortable with that." I frowned at Jon, I knew in the future he wouldn't wanna talk about me either. "Okay..." I sighed.
Next thing I know I see Harold running after us, as soon as Jon got moving. "STOP!" I screamed, Jon slammed on the breaks, putting his arm across my body. "What's going on?! Are you okay? Water break? Contractions? What the hell Evan?" Jenny asked from the back seat. I jumped out of the car, running to the sidewalk. "What the hell is he doing?" I heard Jon from the car. Harold stopped in front of me, "Evan! I need to give you guys some tips, some of them could have saved Thomas." Jon was now behind me, "Are you sure you want to?"
"Yes, anything to save a family." Harold shared a look with Jon. I shook it off and followed Harold back to the suit store. Jon was a little behind and telling Jenny just to go home with Samantha. I sadly sighed and walked into the store. Harold took us back to his office. "Take a seat, both of you." Jon sat down beside me, "I got her to go home, we'll just call a cab or something."
"I'll take you home." Harold said. I happily nodded, "Okay, thank you."
"Now, let me get started. When the time comes, you will definitely know it. Get a profession vampyre healer, and Evan in your situation, your whole circle." I nodded.
"Do not! And I repeat, DO NOT go to a human hospital. You two might already know that, but it's a good reminder." I felt Jon's fingers hug mine.
"Now, when the healer is doing the sea section, you must have the other parent's blood, it'll help keep both you and the baby alive, now the parent giving the blood might be a little weak afterwards, but there will be a better chance the carrier will survive." Jon then squeezed my fingers, I think it was a good sign.
"Now, if Evan is unconscious and slowly going to the light, Jon... you gotta give it your all, use all the elements in the circle, but use water the most. The baby will most likely have you element as well."
Harold continued talking and talking, and we listened, and learned a lot of great things, things that made my day a lot better, things that made me think... I might not die after all.
Tyler
I was sitting on my bed, studying for this damned Vampyre Sociology test. I sighed and flipped the page, then the savoir of my life, knocked on the door, I didn't know who it was, but they gave me a little break from studying. "Brock! What brings you here?"
"Sit down, its amazing news." I did as Brock asked.
"What?"
"Did you check your mail?"
I snorted, "Who the fuck checks their mail?"
"Tyler, there should be an invitation in there."
"An invitation to what?"
"Evan and Jon's wedding."
"Wholey shit! Nuh uh!'
"Yes uh!"
"When is it?!"
"It's two weeks."
"Damn, that seems a bit..."
"Soon yeah."
"Oh no... is it because-"
"Of the baby, yeah." Both Brock and I let out a sigh. Our sighing was stopped by clicking on my window. I gave Brock a weird look and slowly got up, walking over to the window. I slightly opened the curtains and BANG! a huge raven-human thing pounced on my window. I squealed and fell backwards, the window suddenly opening. The thing came flying in and pinned me to the ground. It pinned it's hands right around my neck. I started gagging as Brock called his element. I faced the bird in the eyes, suddenly feeling a weird feeling, almost knowing the bird. I saw it in the dark eyes it had, no... his eyes were a bit lighter than that, and his hair was a lot lighter too. All that good feeling disappeared when it let out a loud "kwa!" "Earth! Help Tyler!" I saw Brock's hands move and the bird getting pulled off by twigs from the tree outside my window. The twigs slowly tied up the creature.
I got up and ran over to it. "Not to sound rude, but what the hell are you?"
"Half human, half disgusting raven." The creature surprisingly answered. The voice even sounded familiar, just a bit harsher.
"Why are you disgusted of yourself?"
"Because... this isn't who I really am, I want to be nice and happy like everyone else. I don't want to be like Master."
"Who's Master?" Brock asked.
"Nelson?" Brock gave me a look.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Craig." I choked on my saliva and backed away. Brock following me. "Tyler... there is no way-"
"Get my book." Brock obeyed me and brought me the book I was just studying with. I turned a few pages and found what I was looking for.
"Brock."
"What?"
"He might've chose to become this. Listen." Brock was all ears.
"When in the Otherside Nyx will give you a few months to get used to not being in the Earth realm. Then one day she'll take a seat with you and talk about your next choices. She'll give you three. You can stay in the Otherside forever. You can go into the world as someone new. Or any other thing Nyx decides. So! She must have given Craig the choice to become Nelson's new plan to help us!" The happiness deep down inside me was from the chance that my best friend I was Imprinted with and pretty much in love with, was back alive in a different form.
Brock and I explained some past memories to this Craig bird thing. He seemed to have clicked with some of them and that sent my hopes high to the sky. Then all of sudden in the memory of Evan, Craig screamed. "What's wrong?!" I panicked. "NO! He must stay far away! You must protect him, his mate and his child! Nelson has a terrible plan, that I was apart of, but I've failed it to help you guys. You guys must go to where he is, and not let Nelson know!" Craig yelped.
"But the wedding's not until-"
"Go early!" Craig cut Brock off.
"Wait, Craig, what was the plan?"
"For me to slowly torture the little child's fathers and then take her or him back to Nelson, where he would do terrible things to them. Anything to suck the power from them."
"But why does he want their child? Isn't Evan more powerful?" Brock asked.
"Yes, but he is the most powerful High Priest alive, and his partner is the son of a powerful Vampyre Warrior, with one of the elements, their DNA together, we don't know what could come out."
"Wait! Did Nelson tell you those things?" I excitedly asked.
"No, I actually... I don't know how I knew those things."
"Oh my goddess... I think we might have our Craig back!" I cheered and hugged the raven through the twigs.
"Tyler." Was all he croaked. He looked up at Brock, tears in his eyes, "Brock." He looked around even more, "Where's Brian, Marcel... ummm... David and uhh... Lui?" My heart filled with joy as I nearly broke into tears. Brock ran right into the twigs, and he thanked Earth and dismissed it. All three of us were hugging, and balling our eyes out. I pushed away and smirked, "Wait, maybe, hmm."
"Oh no, what's on your mind?" Brock asked. My smirked grew and I walked over to Craig. "I'm sorry for this." I whispered, and took my thumbnail across a vein on his amazing chest. As soon as the blood started flowing Brock instantly covered his nose. "Eww, oh goddess, what is that?" I laughed and licked the blood off of Craig's chest, "An Imprinted flow of blood." All of us started laughing, and I couldn't wait to tell the boys. We got our Craig back.
