(No POV)

As the sun was rising up to start the day, the sunlight shined Y/N's eyes and after a few seconds of having a bright wake-up call, he woke up from his 'bed' and exited his cardboard box house to  start his day. He had to pee so he went behind some metal box to hide from passing cars and went to do his business. After that, he grabbed one of his water bottles and sprayed water on his face to wash off the gunk and dirt from his face and whatever water was left, he drank it. Next up, he checked his backpack to see whatever supplies he had left and it wasn't looking good as he only had three breakfast bars left, a quarter half of water left, his blanket was only wearing out by the day and he had about $20 left in his pocket as he had spent it on more water bottles and fast food for the last two days. Throughout his traveling, he quickly realized that money can run out quickly and so he learned how to spend the money wisely but even then, he feared on what he would have to do next when the money runs out completely. When he got done checking, he was sitting down for a bit and was thinking about where to go next and soon he made up his mind started to pack up and be on his way. 

(Y/N POV) 

Y/N's mind- Shoot, i'm almost out of water and I don't know which direction to go next. Well, I know that I cant stay here because I thought I saw a cop car around here and I don't want him to catch me and send me back to those 'nieces' of mine just to beat me again. 

Y/N- *shiver* *sigh*

After thinking hard about this, I decided that It was time to go again and as much I dreaded the walk ahead its better then being back with 'them' again. I packed up my backpack, and one last time I took a look of my 'home'. 

Even though it was a smelly and dirty home, I couldn't help but feel a little sad for leaving because it brought me protection against the cold breeze and it was a good hiding place from the cops. After I looked at it for a full minute, I put my backpack behind me and started to following the sidewalks to the north.

Y/N-goodbye, cardboard home. Thank you for being there for me where even my own 'family' wasn't. 

As I walked on the sidewalk, I quickly realized what I just did and I couldn't tell if I was crazy or it was something else. 

Y/N mind- Did I really say goodbye to a bunch of cardboard? Whoa, I don't know if I'm starting to lose my mind or i'm really so desperate for love and protection that I just said bye to non-living objects that was a home that I made out of. *sigh*, well I might as well because I have nobody to call family.

As I stopped by the first traffic lights, while waiting for the sign to go green, I looked over right next to me and saw an electronic signage and pushed on the map icon and wondered where I can find on this path. 

Y/N mind- Ok! cool, it looks like if I cross the sidewalk then in around an hour of walking then I would reach a restaurant named Dennys and right next to Dennys is a bus waiting center which I think holds maps for the roads and routes for the other buses. If I can get a map, then deciding which way to go will be much easier.

When the light for walking was on, I crossed and I remembered the direction to the Dennys so I was on my way.

Y/N- here goes.

(Timeskip, 1 hour later) 

(No POV)

After Y/N arrived at the Dennys, he walked inside and waited for a host to attend to him.

After some time, a host greeted Y/N and was nice and friendly to him. 

Host- Hi! Welcome to Dennys, is it just one today?

Y/N- Y-yes sir. 

Host- Ok! oh wait, before I seat you, may I ask where is your parents or guardian?

Y/N mind- Oh no! Quick, think of something to say!

Y/N- w-well, they are right over there by the shops and I promised them I would get food by myself and I w-was very hungry so I came h-here. But I-i-i promise not to cause trouble for you guys, so can I please stay. P-please?

Host mind- well, i'm not sure if I believe him, but he does seem hungry and sad ok I will serve him, I won't deny anyone service especially children who are hungry.

Host- Ok, good then follow me to your seat. Right this way.

Y/N- Thank you sir!

Host- no probs kid. 

As the host was leading Y/N to his seat, he stopped by one of the tables and booths.

Host- Ok, well we don't have any extra small seating for you, but is it ok that I seat you in one of the small booths instead?

Y/N- n-no its no problem at all. Thank you.

Host- your welcome, well here we are your seat. 

Y/N sat down and got comfy. 

Host- Your waitress will be right with you shortly sir

Y/N- ok, thank you again sir.

Host- your welcome kid, enjoy your experience here!

As Y/N waved the host bye. He waited for a little while then the waitress walked over to him with a menu and began to serve him. 

Waitress- Hi! welcome to Dennys today! My name is Sarah and I will be taking care of you today! Can I start you off with a drink?

Y/N- yes, can I have a a-apple juice please. 

Sarah- sure thing! coming right up and here's the menu for you and when i'm back, we'll be ready to start. 

Y/N- Thanks.

Sarah- Your welcome.

 (Y/N POV)

As I looked over the menu, I was having a little trouble deciding on what to order and I was trying to see what I can order without going over the limit of my $20 dollars. When Sarah came back with my apple juice, I was ready to order my food.

Sarah- alrighty, here's your juice and are you ready to order?

Y/N- yes I am.

Sarah- Great! Now what would like today?

Y/N-  ummm.. can I have the chicken strip meal and my side will be fries. 

Sarah- Got it. Ok, it will be right here in a while. 

Y/N- uhh Sarah?

Sarah- Yes?

Y/N- If you don't mind, can I have some coloring paper p-please?

Sarah- Sure thing, its not problem!

Y/N- Thank you Sarah 

Sarah- your welcome sir. 

(???? POV)

???? mind- *sigh* Well, today was another boring day of college and i'm pretty hungry right now. Hmm..maybe I'll have Dennys today I haven't been to one in a long time and their food is pretty awesome. 

I walked to the Dennys entrance and was greeted by a host. After he seated me, I was looking at the menu waiting for the waitress to come over. While I waited, I looked around and saw a little boy coloring all by himself and I thought that was very strange seeing him sitting alone without his parents and I don't know why but I was starting to get worried for him. Just when I was going to do something about it, the waitress walked to the table and was about to take my order. 

Waitress- Hello! welcome to Dennys, my name is Jessie and I'll be your waitress today. Can I start you off with a drink?

????- Yes, can I have a coke with little ice please?

Jessie- Sure! coming up. 

????- Jessie.

Jessie- Yes ma'am?

????- Who is that boy next to us all by himself?

Jessie- Well ma'am, one of our hostesses named Sarah is serving him at the moment and he came in by himself and I asked our host why, he said that his parents are near at the shopping mall and he wanted to get himself some food. So here he is now and from what I could tell, he seems sad and scared and I don't know why but if you ask me his parents are very irresponsible for not coming with him where he feels safe and happy. Poor kid, I hope his parents come to his senses and be with him. 

????- Yeah, poor kid. *sighhhh* well, i'm ready to order already Jessie. 

Jessie- oh ok what can I get you?

(Timeskip, 10 minutes later)

(Y/N POV)

When my food came and another refill of apple juice, my mouth was watering and I couldn't wait to eat up.

Sarah- Here you go sir, enjoy your meal!

I was so excited to eat! I took the first bite and it tasted so good that I swore I almost let out a squeal. But as I ate my meal, I turned to my left and saw a girl sitting by herself.

When I was just about to turn back to my meal, the girl looked at me and smiled at me a little. I smiled back at her and then I went back to eating my meal.

(???? POV)

(????) mind- *giggle*~ The way he looked at me and smiled was just so cute I almost wanted to say hello but I had to restraint myself because.. well speaking of which I see Jessie with my food.  *Gasp* I think I have an idea. 

Jessie- Here you go ma'am, the bacon cheeseburger with fries and some honey mustard sauce. 

????- Thank you and Jessie?

Jessie- Yes?

????- I feel bad for the boy, so I'm going to sit with him so he can enjoy some company, is that alright if I switch seats?

Jessie- well...ok sure. The poor boy does need it after all. Alright, let's love your food there and you are so kind to do this for him, you know.

???? mind- I know~

(Y/N POV)

I was eating my food like there was no tomorrow but then to my left I heard footsteps and it sounded like it was heading to me. I turned to the sound and it was the girl again and she took a seat across from me and her waitress brought her food along and I didn't know what to do, 

Waitress- alright ma'am, your new seat and food. Enjoy your meal.

????- Thank you!

As the waitress left, I just stared at the girl really confused and I was shy to say hello. 

????- why hello little boy, what is a cute kid like you doing here all by yourself~

Y/N- W-w-well, I wanted to eat here today but my parents didn't want to come along, so they just trusted me to go here by myself so h-h-here I am you k-know.

????- Well, I saw you all alone and I felt really bad for you so I figured that you would enjoy some company with me~

????- You don't mind my company do you?

Y/N- n-n-no, n-not at all.

????- Great, so what's your name?

Y/N- My name is Y/N.  And what's yours?

????- Oh silly, how rude of me, my name is Sophia, pleased to meet you~

Y/N- Nice to meet your too. A-and thank you for sitting with m-me.

Sophia- your most welcome~

(No POV)

Y/N and Sophia was eating together and having a nice conversation, and a few hours went by and they were both having a good time. Y/N was happy to meet an adult who wanted to be with him even if it doesn't last forever and Sophia was enjoying the boy's company the most and she started to grow an emotional connection to him and when they were done with their meal, Y/N's waitress Sarah placed the check and told him whenever he's ready to pay. As he took the $20 dollars out of his pocket and placed it next to the check, he had to go to the restroom really badly, so he excused himself to go.

Y/N- Sophia, I need to go to the restroom, so I'll be back.

Sophia- Okie doki!

As Y/N walked to the restroom, Sophias phone vibrated and she checked her phone and saw that it was a text message that read: Sophia, where are you? Your suppose to be at home now young lady. I'm waiting for now, so please get home soon. Love mom.

(Sophia POV)

Sophia mind- Well damn, mom is expecting me at home, but im having a lot of fun spending time with Y/N and he is just the sweetest boy I ever met~ But something tells me that his story of why he's here alone is a lie, but I don't want to bring it up with him because I don't want to add more stress to him and I already took a liking to Y/N already and I don't know why. Oh well, I have to leave him but im going to do something nice for him as a little gift from me and thats only the beginning~

Jessie- Alright ma'am, your check.

Sophia- Thanks, and I would like to personally pay for the boy's meal please. 

Jessie- Great! I'll get those checks here and I'll leave his $20 dollars there. Again, you're very kind to do this so I want to thank you, and his waitress and him thank you too. 

Sophia- *giggle* your welcome, I just wanted to make his day.

Sophia mind- But I also wanted to get to know him personally~

I took out my credit card and I paid for the meals. I left from my seat and began to leave but not without me leaving $100 cash for Y/N and I gave Jessie a $40 dollar tip.

Jessie- w-wow! Thank you ma'am! Have a great day and thank you for dining with us!

Sophia- Your welcome! Have a great day.

Sophia mind- And enjoy your gift Y/N, because its not going to be the last from me~

(Y/N POV)

I went back to table and saw that Sophia was not here anymore and that made me sad but I saw $100 dollars on the table along with my $20 dollars and I was surprised to see this. When I sat back down, Sarah came to me with booklet of some sorts.

Y/N- Excuse me Sarah, but Sophia left a $100 dollar bill on the table and my $20 is still here, why?

Sarah- well, Sophia actually paid for your meal and left you the money as a gift, her waitress Jessie told me about so I guess your good to go sir. 

Y/N- oh, well then I will never get the chance to thank her for everything she did for me. *sigh*

Y/N- oh well, here Sarah take my $20 as your tip and for being a good waitress to me.

Sarah- o-oh, well thank you sir! I really appreciate this and I hope you have a great day!

Y/N- Have a good day to you too. Bye

Y/N mind- WOW! $100 dollars! I cant believe this is real, I never thought that this would happen, now I don't have to worry about money for a few more days but Its just a shame that I probably won't ever get to say thank you to her. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted, but now I need to find another highway soon to spend the night in. Goodbye Sophia, I hope your life goes in good wishes. 

(Timeskip, 2 hours later. Evening)

(No POV)

As Y/N walked some more and after he went to the bus station to pick up a map, he searched for a highway to sleep under, he finally found it and started to settle for the night. 

Y/N got under the box and sat down while thinking about what happened today.

Y/N mind- well, today was actually a good day today. I ate real food instead of fast food and I met a really kind girl Sophia who payed for my meal but also gave me this $100 dollar bill as a gift for me and I have a map now so its easier to see where i'm going now. But oh man, I really want to see her again so I can thank her but I don't think it's gonna happen. 

Y/N- oh Sophia, wherever you are now, thank you thank you so much for everything. *sniffle* but goodbye too cause I won't see you again. 

After Y/N cried a little bit, he closed his eyes and begin to sleep away but what he doesn't know is that a few blocks away, he is being carefully watched to make sure he's safe and when he fell asleep, the person was gone and was heading home. 

(Sophia POV)

Ahhh Y/N~ I knew that your story didn't match up, you're a runaway boy but why? Why are suffering and left alone in the cold?? Who made you do this because I want to have a 'word' with whoever is responsible!. But... I can't right now, because first I want to make your life better first~ then I will take care whoever is responsible for this.

Sophia mind- Sleep tight Y/N because tomorrow I'm going to take you home with me and introduce you to the others including mom and they will love you right away~
