I could spend hours looking at you and your smile.

The excitment of going out with her where he will be officially introducing her to everyone is making him impatient. Yet he is patiently waiting for her, sitting on the couch in the living room, all ready to go to the event.

He had thought at first go to her room and annoy her for taking so much time which is not that much since it still have 5 minutes left to seven.

But then he decide to give her time to get ready and also because to manofy his little sad heart who knows the she might not wear his gift. And he is all okay with it, it's completely her choice to wear what she wants. He is just a little upset, just a tiny bit,that he would not be able to see her in the dress he choose for her. Atleast for now, since she pretty liked the dress earlier when he gave her so she would wear it some other time if not now.

Tapping his sneaker claded foot on the floor, he waited impatiently for her as the clock hands went passed the seven.

Zach had messaged him queit few times asking when he will come. Replying him to get there soon he kept his phone away and lean back on the couch and started flipping through the channels on the TV randomly without paying any interest.

The faint clicking of heels caught his attention and he turned around to look back through his shoulder.

He tunred himself to the side way to get a proper view when he saw her descending down the stairs.

His eyes racked up and down her form. An adorned and satisfaction look passed through his eyes as he took a glance of all of her. Hsi heart did race face along with tingling inside it and he put his hand on his heart trying calm it down.

Wearing the same dress he had gifted her, paired with the heels he had put in her room earlier, she makes his heart skipped a beat. He had imagined her in that outfit, But the way she carried herself was beyond his imagination.

Her eyes went up and down on his figure and back to herself. Is it a coincidence or they are wearing the same colour intentionally.

He is looking extremely Handsome in the outfit he had worn. She shameless check out him wandering her eys all over him.

His soft hair were styled back in a classy style. The white shirt underneath his burgundy red blazer was showcasing off his tonned chest. And his blazer sleeves outlined his bicep.

The classy matt black watch was rested on his left hand probably due to the gauze in his right hand because he always wears his watch on his right hand. The tie, the cuff links and not to forget the brace around his wrist also matched with her dress. His is insane. And the sneakers he wore just added a whole 20 points to his look making him more handsome.

Her eyes went up to his chiseled face and instantly her face heat up seeing him looking at her without blinking.

His favourite brown hazel eyes stared back at him for a second before cascading down fluttering the eye lashes, which made his heart flutter too.

He came out of his trance feeling a little pinch on the back of his left palm and He retarded his hand back feeling the sting.

Avni controlled the giggled escaping her mouth seeing his confused look. She doesn't want to do it. But his unwavering gaze made her all giddy and she couldn't control the blush taking over her face. She waits for a whole minute for him to say something but when he didn't utter a word and kept looking at her with that adoring look in his eyes, she couldn't help it anymore. His sparkling brown eyes were gazing all over her.

Neil : This is not the way to make someone come out of their trance. God, you need to learn so many things. He said the first thing he probably didn't plan to say this evening after seeing her.

Avni : So do you. You too need to learn basic manner of gentleman. She get back at him instantly but mentally smack herself, for, if he read in between the lines, it'll be too embarrassing. She is not desperate. But she did want his opinion. Or maybe compliment.

And he actually did.

Walking towards her, close to her,  he snaked his arms around her waist pulling her close to him. Her hands instantly came on his chest while his rested on her small back.

Neil : is it so.?

Avni : I I-- Umm.. We are probably getting late. We should go now. She stammered.

Neil : it's like a family event, no-one's gonna throw us out if we get a little late. He smile down at her.

Avni gazed flitted to his tie when his intense eyes bore into hers again and she couldn't take it anymore.

Neil smile softly at her and dropped a kiss on her crown taking her in his arm.

Neil : you look absolutely gorgeous. He whispered softly making her look into his eyes.

Neil : I nearly stopped breathing for a second seeing you coming down.

Can he stop please.? She did want to know how she looks from him but his few words and her breath lost. Why.??

Her hands drop down to his waist before encircling around as she rested her head on his chest pressing her hot red cheeks against it, not knowing what to say but mutters small thank you agaisnt his chest.

Avni : You look good too. She muttered again, against his chest and in return she felt a soft peck on her head in reply.

Standing there for don't know how much time, she was about to tell him they'll get really late, when his phone pings making him groan.

They parted a little but still close enough to each other with his one hand on her waist and hers on his chest, he pulled out his phone only to curse the one person who is getting all the bad and worse word and every curse he knows since last night.

Neil : He did not have an ounce of patience.

Avni : we are actually getting late, he must be waiting for you. Meher messaged me an hour back that they are leaving already.

Neil : Didn't you become quite great friend with Rodriguèz. He narrowed his eyes at her. She laugh lightly moving away from him.

Avni : What can I do, he is so amazing. She clicked her tongue teasing him.

Neil : Accha.. He took a step forwards and tickle her making her jump on her place.

Her laugh echoed around the hall as he holds her in the place and tickle her but it didn't last long as his phone rings making him stop in action and Avni to take a breath of relief.

Neil : Dude I'm coming have patience., you want me to break the signal and got into trouble. Let me drive peacefully.

Avni mouth hang opened listening his pure lie.

Neil : Of course we left. We are all ready in the car, will be reaching soon if you stop calling. Yeah yeah, we are coming. Don't do any stupidity till then, uncle will kill you.

He cut the call and shook his head. Zach has a very interesting hate towards parties. Being the party animal he hated this business get together and always lend himself in trouble at every party, 'cause he can't take shit from few people who kept poking their nose in his business.

Neil : let's go before he himself come to pick us up. He hand over her the trench coat from the couch and helped her with it.

Avni : What a liar you are. She turn her head looking at him through her shoulder as he pull out her hairs from the coat carefully.

Neil : He is a much more bigger liar than me. You'll know in future. He tucked her coat properly before wearing his own.

The weather is getting pretty cold outside. And it looks the Christmas is going to be very snowy this time.

Avni : why you said him to not get into trouble.?? She asked as they walked out hand in hand.

Neil : you'll know by tonight. He laughed probably remembering Zach's deeds.

As they come out to the porch, Avni breath sucked in her lungs looking at the beauty in front of her. She is totally going to be dead by tonight if her breath kept hitching like that.

Avni : Don't tell me we are going in this. She stop in her track making him halt too.

Neil : yup, we are. He said looking amused at her expression. Her red painted lips were parted in a surprise looking at their ride for tonight.

Avni gaze went around the ethereal Bugatti Centodieci standing in front of her. She cannot believe this. It surreal.

Neil : Let's go. He dragged her away carefully seeing her heels which was also gifted by her and he cannot be more happier than seeing her wearing his gifts.

He opened the door for her and seems like Avni finally came out of her trance.

Avni : We can't. She stopped taking her eyes at the opened door and them him.

Neil : Why?? Confusion laced on his face seeing her.

Avni : Your hand. What if something happen. We can't let that.

Neil : Nothing will happen to my hand. I got this. Now get inside. He nudge her to sit.

Avni : who's talking about your hand. I'm worried about the car. What if something happens to it. This beauty don't deserve any mishap.

Her tone was actually worried as if she is talking about a beautiful glass which will get broke with a single touch. He look at her for few seconds before shooking his head. She is just.. Avni. She can think anything.

Neil : yeah car.., thank you very much for worrying about my car and not for my hand but nothing will happen to this precious car. Now if you're down worrying then can we please leave.

Avni narrowed her eyes at him but then said nothing as she was embarrassed to get lost in the car forgetting him. But it's not her fault, the car is simply.. beauty. She can't do anything.

Avni : Yeah.., Umm.. You're only making us late. Let's go. She hurriedly settled down in the car leaving a gaping Neil standing there.

He closed the door and round the car to get inside the driving seat. He look beside to see her buckling herself, admiring the interior of the car. He smile seeing her eyes roaming around.

He lean forward and grabbed her chin before planting a kiss on her cheek. Her confused eyes look him at his sudden action.

Neil : I'll someday let you admire this car for as long as you want but for now just look at me and nowhere else. He whispered caressing her chin close to her red lips. He went back to his seat buckling himself and stifling his laugh seeing her wide eyes hearing his words.

Neil : I told you not to become a statue everytime. You can return it same way. I would be a duffer if I mind advances like this.

His words registered in her mind and she look away coughing slightly to get away from the hot cheeks and the situation. He chuckled at her attempts receiving a smack on his bicep.

Avni : Drive already. We are getting late.

Neil : Is it going to be your catchphrase for the night, "we are getting late". He smile playfully at her.

Avni : Stop teasing and drive. She look outside completely ignoring him.

He laughed and started the car, driving through the porch. The drive was about 25 minutes and it went with few teasings from him, pinches and smacks from her and few stolen glances from both. And they were finally on the lane which lead to the venue with him teasing her for her red cheeks which were way more darker than Santa's dress.

Neil : wanna deal with Paparazzi or wanna sneak in. He asked slowing down the car when they almost reached.

Avni : I.. don't know. She said unsurely.

Neil nodded his head when his phone pings. He pulled out his phone and gave her to see who it is as he was finding a way to get away from Paps. She took his phone and laughed reading the message.

Neil : Who is it.? He asked stopping the car a little away from the venue as he can saw the media gathered outside the front gate.

Avni : well, Zach messaged... "Don't you dare to bring my Avi bear through those gossip thirsty rapacious vultures. And come quickly, what the frudge are your doin'."

Avni : and another one said.. "I've planned a grand introduction for Avi bear and those gossip hunters can come over to but not today. It's Zach Rodriguèz party and Avi bear is going to enjoy to the fullest without having those vultures behind her."

Avni : Well quiet long.. But Aww. He is soo sweet.

Neil : Yeah sure. He rolled his eyes seeing her gushing over his best friend.

Neil : Guess we are going from the back door then. He took out the car and drive towards the back door which was really quiet.

Parking his car safely, He come out after removing his coat and went to open her side of door. Avni took off her trench coat when he opened the door for her.

She came out adjusting her hairs and found him looking at her awestruckly. Again. Her cheeks went red in an instant.

Avni : Neil. She called him pulling his finger like a child making him come out of his admiring trance.

Neil : yeah..!! Umm.. Damn I have a really good choice. He muttered but she hear it.

Neil : yeah in dress and in girl both. He answered when he saw her giving a questioning look.

Avni : Shut up.

And here comes again the blush on her face. The earlier one was not even gone yet.

Neil : You asked for it. He said stepping aside holding her hand. The cool breeze passed by making her shiver.

She chooses to ignore his comment and follow him as they went inside the hall from the back door.

They went through a passage and came across the main hall. They were standing behind the huge staircase in the left corner of the hall. She can see huge number of people all around.

Before entering inside, he beckoned her towards him putting his one hand on her waist.

Neil : Are you ready.? You gonna meet alot of people today. And I tell you beforehand fews are gonna be extremely crazy.

Avni : I guess I can handle that. She laughed a little and replied.

Neil : Then Let's go.

They both made their way inside side by side through the pool of people.

Neil : Stay by my side. He whispered in her ear nodding at few people. She blinked smiling at him and he returned the same.

"Neil, How are you.?" A voice caught their attention.

Neil : Richard uncle. He smile widely at the old man. He hugged him after going towards him.

Neil : I'm good. How are you.?

Richard : I'm perfect as I was. Avni. How are you. He acknowledged her giving her side hug.

Avni : I'm good Richard uncle. You're looking handsome I must say.

Richard : I do right. It's just my charm I can't help it. But you're looking beautiful, girl.

Avni : Thank you. She replied smilingly.

Richard : Neil my boy, no need to get jealous. She is all yours. It's just my charm that attracts ladies. I can't help it. He teased Neil making laugh too.

Neil : I'm not jealous. And uncle you do know that your son went totally on you.

Richard : ah!! My almost disowned son. He must be here somewhere. Go meet him.

They both nodded their head and greet other peoples.

All businessmen and businesswomen were present and almost half and hour went by meeting and greeting them.

Avni eyes roam around to see Meher or anyone but she couldn't find them in the pool of people.

"N.K." Someone called Neil from behind when they were talking to one of the investor.

Neil : Mr. Harold. Neil nodded at the aged man almost in his late sixties coming towards them.

Harold : Good to see you.

Neil : You too Mr. Harold. He said showing his brace wrapped hand when Harold put his hand forward.

Harold : oh, everything's okay.?

Neil : yeah, just a little mishap.

Harold : oh,  I hope you get well soon.  My daughter is also here. I guess she would love to meet you.. again.

Avni's boringness flew away to the seventh sky as soon as the words left his mouth.

She gave a non-Identified stink eye to him, running her brain to all the possibilities he meant with his words.

Neil : Umm.. Sure. He said uncomfortably. 

Neil : oh.. And meet her, She is my fiancée, Avni Malhotra. He introduced her smiling stupidly at her and placed her hand on his waist. Avni held out her hand and greeted the man with a wide fake smile.

Harold : I.. I didn't knew you're engaged. Congrats. He said embrassingly and greet Avni.

Harold : I.. have to meet few others too. I'll take your leave. He said and stepped away from them before moving away.

Avni : Did he just tried to pair you up with his daughter.? She questioned as soon as that Harold oldie went away.

Neil : I don't know.. Maybe..  He trailed off but soon cough when his eyes meet hers narrowed ones.

Neil : or may be not. He quickly added.

Avni : yeah I can see that.  And why did he said again. Did you met his daughter.?

Neil : umm... Yeah. I mean she came with her father at the business conference so.. It's totally a professional meeting, that's it. He explained.

Avni : well the way he said it doesn't look like a profession meet up.  He was saying as if you have met up for a very close private meeting. She casually said but glared at the direction were the oldie Harold went before eyeing Neil.

Neil : I don't know why he said that but it was a pure business meet up and I hardly talk to her for 2 minutes.

Avni nodded her head telling Babaji to not let her daughter came in here way. She don't want to ruin the evening.

Neil : waise.... Why are you asking all this.  Are you j--..

Avni : What rubbish.? She cuts him off in mid. 

Avni : I am just curious. That's . I am not jealous or anything that too for someone I haven't meet. She said in a go looking here and there.

Neil : Well., I didn't say anything about jealousy..  But it's good to know. He suppressed his smile looking her getting embarrassed.

Avni : Shut up. I didn't say anything like that.

Neil : Sure you didn't. But just to make you feel stress free.. He put his hands around her waist and pull her closer mking her breath hitched. Bending down, he whispered in her ear.

Neil : Remember, your place is safe and secure till eternity.

His soft and husky voice jumbled all the organs of her stomach and if that was not enough, he placed a kiss just below her ear making her senses go all the way to Pluto.

Neil : Let's find others before everyone thought you as a statue. He tugged her hand making her come out of her trance.

She mentally scold herself to go on a numb drive everytime he does something like this. She needs to get her mind clear.

In search of others, they meet another business elites around 20 or something and yet they have found none. Seems like either they are not here or just vanish somewhere in the air.

Even Zach is not in the sight, he was the one who wants them to come early but it's nearly an hour and he is not here anywhere.

Neil was talking to some other friends of Richard uncle and Avni was looking everywhere to find Meher or Ari or anyone. The oldies were then joined by few other old ladies who can easily put Indian aunties to shame. Their names (Indian aunties) are just ruined like that only, this ladies can top them with there fake face to fake smile to fake etiquettes. They are making her bored to death but Neil is enjoying as if they are talking about some interesting movie.

Neil look at her to find her faking the attentiveness as much as she can but the roll of her eyes every now and then is saying everything. He is about to take a leave as the men already left soon as the ladies arrived and interrupt their business talks only to divert the conversation to everything but business. But the ladies are not leaving Avni.

Neil : It's was nice to meet you all, but excuse us we've to meet others too. He said politely and pull Avni before they can say anything.

Avni : Fin-fucking-ally. She mutters as soon as they were away from them.

Hsi amused eyes went to her to find her muttering incoherent words.

Neil : and here I thought, you're enjoying there company.

Avni : Don't. Just don't. Don't you dare to tease me right now. She threatens him as he pass teasing smile to her.

Neil : oh come on, you love their company. I saw you laughing with them like they're your long lost friends.

Avni : I am sure Zach won't mind if I kill you right now and ruin this event.

Neil : Well he won't neither I if I got to be killed by someone as gorgeous as you. He gave a flirtatious lopsided smile.

Avni : Do you not know that I am already committed and you shouldn't be flirting with me. She narrowed her eyes trying to hide away her blush.

Neil : ooh I definitely know but where it is written that you can't flirt with committed ones.

She gasp hearing him and smack his arm.

Avni : you mean you'll go around flirting with committed girls when you're also committed to someone.  She glared at him threatening him to say anything stupid.

Neil : When did I say that. What I mean to say is flirting with committed girl is okay as long as she is solely yours. He winked at her fading away her anger- though fake one - in a second.

Avni : Stupid. She muttered looking away from his intense playfully eyes hiding away her blush.

"Oh look who we have here.. The love birds finally thought it would be a great favour to grace us with their presence. It's such an honour to have you both. "

A voice from behind interrupt them.  Neil groaned without looking back knowing very well who it would be while Avni grinned like a Cheshire cat.

Avni : Zach.. She squeal in excitement.

Zach : Avi bear... He too returned the same gesture before capturing her in a bear tight hug much to someone's dislike.

Avni : Congratultion for the event.  It's superb. You've doen a great job. I can't believe it.  It's so pretty and everything is so perfect. I'm so happy for you.

Zach : Aww..  Really,  thank-you so much. It's the first ever genuine compliment I got since the event started. He again hugged her and she returned it back happily until someone drift them apart.

Neil : That's enough of thank you and welcomes..  But we would like to take your leave since we don't have my interest to have a talk with you Mr.  Rodriguèz. He passed a fake smile and taking Avni's and pulling her closer to himself.

Zach : Haww..  Bloody shitty human in the name of best friend, even I don't have any interst talking to you.  I'm happy with my Avi bear. Let's go Avi. We'll go somewhere, where some jealous people cannot enter at all.

He put his hand in front of Avni and nodded at her to hold his hand. Avni giggles ans look at Neil who was busy glaring at Zach. And before Avni could even place her hand on Zach's,  Neil slapped his stretched out hand.

Zach : Dude...  He squeal in pain like a wounded warrior.

Neil : Don't you have other work than making people bore with your nonsense.

Zach : EXCUSE ME..  I am doing all the work alone since the start of the event because a certain someone who had said he'll help me potentially is nowhere to be seen.

Neil rolled his eyes at his drama. He loves doing drama. Zach can make a whole episode on how his favourite sandwich is not anymore favourite because they didn't put enough amount of cheese in it anymore. And he had done it.

Neil : don't exaggerate it. I'm here since more than an hour and I've been entertaining your favorite guest. 

Zach : Oh you are being generous.  Why can't I believe it.?

Neil : Don't believe it. And I was wondering why Richard uncle was looking for you, seems you didn't entertain your guest enough.

Zach : Ohh God, not that man. Jesus please make me invisible in front of him. He mutter looking horrified. Avni was silently laughing seeing all this and she can't kept it silent when Neil wink at her indicating the start of drama.

Neil : yeah. He somehow got to know about that day. 

Zach : what.. Which day.??

Neil : That day.  He crooked his brows giving him answer without y words.

Zach : dude,  that was our last year of college. We're just having fun. And you know what our intention was.  It was totally for fun nothing else.

"what was totally for fun?"

Zach eyes widened listening his wife's voice.  And he ask for help with his eyes from the two stood in front of him.

Avni : Ari..  She quickly hugged Ariana as soon as she stood beside Zach.

Ariana : Avi bear,  you're looking so pretty.

Avni : So do you Mrs. Rodriguèz. She wink at her and moved back.

Ariana eyes went down to Neil's right hand and she look up at him dissapointedly.

He gave a sheepish smile in return and hugged her briefly.

Ariana : You both won't understand a simple thing right. She look between Zach and Neil giving them a disappoined mother look. Avni secretly smile looking them.

Neil : Leave it Ari.  It's okay just little shit goes here and there.

Ariana : ofcourse I'm gonna leave it. I ain't have no patience to give you both again a whole lecture on how you should not behave like kids and get into severe fights as you're grown ups and all. Nope!!  I'm not gonna do that. You two can broke each other hands or legs or even heads I'm just gonna ignore it from now on.

Neil and Zach look at each other knowing it was the time when Ari get pissed off seriously and when she get down to ignore people it's damn hard means damn damn hard to make her not ignore them.

Zach : Babe, did Mom Dad came. I haven't seen them. He tried to change the topic asking her about her parents.

Ariana : No. They're running late,  but they will be here in few minutes.

Zach : oh, Good. Let's go and see others. I mean we're the host so we have to converse with them right. Just like Dad and Mom.

Ariana : No need. We've converse with lot's of people already. But I think, you should meet your friends here who are exactly like you and I guess you need some boys time alone too. So I'm taking Avi bear with me. Bye. Have fun.

Neil : Hey, why she.??  He hold Avni's arms preventing her to go away from him.

Ariana : Cause we need some girls time. So Bye. She passed a sweet smile and waked away with Avni, ignoring both Neil's and Zach's protest.

Avni turned around and give Neil a smile before turning away and getting lost in the pile of people.

Neil let out a sigh of disappointment before Zach pulled him away to meet and greet few businessmen.

Quick confession : This charity event scenes and all the ones upcoming next are supposed to be updated last to last year (2020) during Christmas time. But me being me the laziest person I am,  don't know how and why I had only updated 3-5 chapters in the while year of 2021.

Now I think I should take it as my new year resolution to buckle up myself and update more episodes as I can.

The journey of 'Our Journey' is quiet long, cause as much as I remember I had started writing the first ever episode of this book in somewhere near 2k18.

Gosshh!! Such a Long time.

By the way, I've changed the cover and name of the story too.
