The interview

I get in the special solar powered cars designed by our company. I put in the directions. Today was the first major interview where I'd be representing our company. Saying I was nervous would be an understatement. I take deep breaths to calm myself and then press my foot on the gas.

I finally reached. I make my way to the gate and look up at the enormous building.

This interview will either help us rise to the top or push us down to the ground. I enter the building and ask the receptionist where I'm supposed to go. I make my way to the set. Apparently, it was going to be broadcasted live. Just great.

I take a seat on one of the sofas. The interviewer, John, comes to​​ me.

"Hey! I'm so glad you could make it! Should we begin?" he asked. I nodded.

He took a seat opposite to me. I heard the camera men setting the cameras.

"Ready? Okay, we're live in 3...2....1!" I heard a man behind the set say.

"Welcome back to our show guys! Today we have a very special guest with us! I'm sure you've heard of her! It's none other than Zyla, the Founder along with her friends, of Nedroj saviors! I must say, I'm very glad to have finally met you!" John said.

"Thanks John, it's great to meet you too.'' I replied. He chuckled good naturedly.

"So, let's start at the beginning. Why did you start the company?" he asked.

"Well, we all know what happened to earth. We realized things too late. We weren't able to save it because of our own careless mistakes, now we're leading up to the same thing happening with Nedroj. A bit careless on our part huh?" I said.

"I agree. Also, I heard you saved two children from earth risking your own life in the process?" he asked.

"I wouldn't say risking my life, but I was a part of the 10% of earth's population who were left on earth. I was on earth on its last day. When those tremors hit the ground everything was pure chaos. I was going to one of the space stations when I found Alessia and Zach underneath piles of rubble with their parents laying dead nearby. The full blown reality of what was happening hit my face. And it was our fault. I helped them and together we made our way to Nedroj. Now, those two are helping with the project too." I said.

"They seem like remarkable young people," he says, I nod.

"So, we have a couple people on our website who have posted some questions they want to ask. Shall we begin?" he asked. I nod.

"Awesome. So... Sara asks you 'what's the point of saving Nedroj is? I mean, we found an alternate planet for earth, why not Nedroj?' " he said.

I raise my eyebrows. Is this really what people thought?

"Well Sara," I started, looking directly into the camera, "Are you willing to see all that destruction again? I just told you a story about two children who suffered so much because of mistakes like these. Tell me, if by chance, we do find another planet are you willing to risk your current home for it? Is this planet anywhere as good as earth? What's to say that the next planet won't be even worse? And, it doesn't hurt to be just a bit responsible since we already have many solutions."

"Very well said and if I had any doubt in my mind, it sure is clear now! Anyways back to the next question, Alex asks, 'why didn't you evacuate earlier if you knew earth wasn't going to last?' " John said.

"Well.. let's just say I still had a shred of hope it could get better. I lost many people because of Global Warming, I wasn't ready to move on I guess.." I said, giving a sad smile.

John smiled at me, "Understandable... So we'll get back to the questions later. I was wondering what you had to say about this image." He pointed to the screen. The picture depicted people in rallies holding signs saying climate change in Nedroj isn't real and whatnot. I grit my teeth.

I guess the past really is going to repeat itself.
