The Discussion

I had the basics all figured out. I'd already designed the basic rubrics for the app with a little help from Ash and now I was just waiting for my friends to come over. They'd be here any moment.

I hear a knock on the door and hear my mom welcoming Aiden inside.

"Hey Zyla," he says smiling.

"Hi! Looks like you're the only one on time, as usual. The rest are always late." We both chuckle. That being said we hear a knock on the door.

"Speak of the devil and he shall appear" I say shaking my head fondly.
I open the door. "Hey guys, glad to see you on time." I say sarcastically.
"We're just 10 minutes late Zyla. Not everyone is as punctual as you." Lorelei said.
I laugh. "Just kidding, come on in"
They all enter and sit down in my room.

"First thing I wanted to ask you guys was, can we involve the twins..?"

Lorelei looks at me skeptically. "Are you sure you want to do that? They've already been through a lot.."

"I think they deserve to know the truth about their parents and why it all happened. I literally brought those guys to a foreign planet when they were 5 without any explanation. Plus, they wouldn't want something similar to happen to someone else in the future.. They need to know why we evacuated earth so that it doesn't happen again."

"Are you sure about this..?" Kylie asks

"I think so..in fact, they were the ones who inspired me to start all this. I don't want anyone else facing the same thing they did....and people like them are more likely to understand the problem and take action." I said

"Let's do it then!" Aiden says trying to build up everyone's enthusiasm. They all nod.

"Great. " I said, " Zach! Alessia!" I call out. They come running wearing socks on their hands and a rope tying their hands together. God knows what they were upto.

When they see I have company they try hiding their hands behind them trying to loosen up the ropes, putting up quite an amusing show. We all try to stifle our laughter. A red blush flies up to their cheeks.

"Stop laughing at them" Kylie chides us, specifically glaring at Aiden, who herself trying was to stop her smile.
I help them untangle all the complicated knots and take the socks off their hands.

"So," I say, drawing everyone's attention to me, "I called you guys here because I want to discuss something."

"Remember when I told you guys about Earth?" I ask the twins.
They nod slowly as if confused by why I was asking this.

"Well.....it's possible that the same type of...changes may occur in Nedroj in a few hundred years too.." I say, trying to be vague.
They're eyes widen.
"You mean all the disasters and earthquakes and smoke..?" Alessia asks, "the same kind of changes..... that took our parents?"

I nod regretfully.

"Then why aren't we stopping it?" Zach asks, confused.
'That's the thing, people don't realise what we're doing is gonna make history repeat itself. They are too absorbed in their own life to look around and notice the slight changes. So that's what we need to do. We need to tell them what measures we can take before it's too late again.."

"We want to help," they say simultaneously. I look around with a triumphant look on my face.
"Told you they'd want to help" I smile.
The rest of them just roll their eyes with a smile.

And that, is how our journey to saving Nedroj began.
