Now I regret saying that. Because we lost. Maybe our glory won't be eternal, because there wasn't any world left.

Reading that, you're probably confused, but it's okay. Most of us are too. Actually, all of us are. Except me. Which totally sucks. Because I know that I'm the reason that all this happened.

So I'm here to tell you what happened. To clear things up so that you can finish this war and free us. Because right now, you few, it's all that the world has. And you may think that I'm a qualified leader, but if you knew the truth, you would probably execute me. And I accept that. But before you can free us all, you have to understand what I did to get us into this mess in the first place.

I would say this happened because of Hera, Juno, whatever you call her, which is partly true. She brought together the Greeks and Romans. Strike one.

I could also say this happened because of Annabeth's quest for the Athena Parthenos in Rome. Which is also true. Strike two.

And yet, I could still say this all happened because Annabeth and I escaped Tartarus. Strike three, I'm out.

Those are all true, and all valid reasons on why we could be where we are now, but we're missing one thing. And that one thing is my fatal flaw.

After the Battle of Manhattan, Athena told me that to save a friend I would destroy the world. I didn't think of it too much. Well, not anymore than I would think about anything else any other god would tell me, since I don't like any of them anyway, but I really should've. Because she was right. And that is why you are here now, fighting for the fate of the world.

So, heroes, be the next great generation, because you're all we have left.
