All I could smell was hot dog water, sweat, and beer.

"Come on sweet heart, it's really not that bad! You get to support your guild."

My mom looked at me with her optimistic brown eyes.

"And I hear your brothers match will be soon! Be a good sister and cheer him on with me."

I tucked a lose hair back behind my ear and nodded.

"I'll go find your father, and get some snacks. Stay here, I'll be back in a few."

My mom patted my back and got up out of her seat to leave.

I sighed and melted into my chair.

It's the grand magic games. Happens every other year here in Fiore, and I really wanted to participate. I was finally eligible, since my powers were finally somewhat under my control. I felt like I had a chance, and wanted to represent my guild.

But my brother Lucas of course beat me to it. He was just 2 years older than me, 18 years old. He was better than me at everything. He had better powers, and control over those powers. He had better looks, more popularity, and he was the favorite. I was over-shadowed by him. I am always in the dark, he was first while I couldn't get out of second place.

I was sick of it. But hey what can 'That other kid' do?

"Nashi, I got you a pretzel."

I turned to face my mom who was handing me a soft pretzel.

"Thanks."

I took it from her and bit into it. I leaned on her shoulder and she rubbed my arm in a soothing way.

"I know you wanted this really bad Nash, and honestly I don't have the words to make you feel better. But i do have arms to hug you, ears to listen, i have eyes that see your problems and the solutions, and a heart that aches to see my little girl smile again."

"Thanks mom." I smiled at her.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS OF ALL AGES! WELCOME TO OUT ANNUAL GRAND MAGIC GAMES!" My mother's close friend from the Saber-Tooth guild Yukino shouted into the mic.

"It's starting sweetheart." my mom whispered getting her poster with cheers for our guild ready.

I turned my attention to the field in front of me trying to let all my depressing thoughts from earlier slide to the back of my head.

"FIRST WE WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME OUR SENIOR MAGES INTO THE RING FOR THE FIRST ROUND!"

cheers irrupted from the crowds deafening me.

"STRAIGHT FROM THE GUILD OF TIGERS, THE FIERCE AND FEROCIOUS- BUT KIND AND LOVING, AKATSUKI EUCLIFFE!"

My mom started clapping and cheering along with the crowd as i just sat there, emotionless. Another person who took my spot in the games.

"REPRESENTING THE GUILD OF FAIRIES, THE STRONG AND FIERCE TRIO OF LUCAS DRAGNEEL, NOVA DREYAR, AND GALE REDFOX."

My mother stood up and held her sign high. My eyes traced over it and my soul as well as heart dropped.

'GO MY BEST CHILD LUCAS! MAKE US PROUD!'

Geez, way to make me feel better mom. I bit into my pretzel harshly and chewed keeping my eyes away from the sign and on the field.

"FROM THE NEWLY FORMED CRIMSON ROSE GUILD, PLEASE WELCOME MISS CASSANDRA ALVAREZ, LET THE MATCHES BEGIN!"

I searched over this girl, Cassandra right? She seemed out of place, and that's coming from me. She wasn't attacking, her green eyes were just looking. No,more like scanning over everyone. I could sense a lot of magical energy coming from her, she could win against Nash and Akatsuki easily. Nova and Gale on the other hand, more of a challenge.

I bit into my pretzel again and narrowed my eyes at her.

'what are you up to Cassandra Alvarez?'

I looked at Nash and Gale who had beaten Akatsuki with a single unison raid of their powers. A unison raid, the one thing i can't accomplish right now. Or maybe ever. People train for millions of years to master it, the joining of 2 or more powers in unison. One attack. One chance. Just to make it harder Nash was a celestial mage, and he also had gun magic. Gale on the other hand had metal magic, two polar opposites doing a unison raid. I sighed out in defeat. I couldn't do that even if I tried my entire life.

I turned to Nova who was having trouble. She had Omnicounter magic, pretty complicated. But to put it short she had a type of magic in which she analyzes any form of incoming spells or magic, she adapts to it, and creates a counter attack, redirects it, or neutralizes it. But the problem with this is she needs Cassandra to attack first for her magic to become very effective. Pretty deep stuff.

Cassandra caught Nova's leg and flipped her down on the hard ground of the stadium ring. I chocked on my pretzel and coughed a couple times.

"That's gotta hurt." My mom said wincing.

"THIS MATCH HAS ONE MINUTE LEFT FOLKS!" Yukino yelled out excitedly into the mic.

Nova got up again and pushed her blonde hair over her shoulders. Cassandra grinned and got a spell ready.

I smiled, Bad move Miss Cassandra.

"Dark Rupture." She whispered.

A huge black cloud formed behind her and headed towards Nova, who of course nullified it leaving a shocked Cassandra. No doubt that must've been hard to nullify, I could feel the dark energy from that spell from my spot in the seats.

"AND THIS MATCH IS NOW OVER! THE WINNERS ARE FAIRY TAIL WITH FIVE POINTS, FOLLOWING IS CRIMSON ROSE WITH 1 POINT, AND SABER-TOOTH WITH -0 POINTS!"

"WE WILL TAKE A 10 MINUTE BREAK BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE NEXT MATCH UP!"

I got up out of my seat and walked towards the food court.

"Who exactly are you Cassandra Alvarez?"
