She gently pulled out of our embrace and smiled brightly, making her previous words seem almost unlikely. I smiled back and took the gift back to my room. I locked the door and sat at my desk, tossing the box to the side. I didn't know if I'd open the box or leave it for another time. I sat back and sighed. I had no words to say. I looked at her, waiting expressionlessly for her to respond.

" Now look. " She said, irritatedly " I get that I'm not who you want to see right now. Cherry's with your brother. And they know something is up and I can feel it. As soon as you get whoever you need to back, I'm leaving on a one-way out of here." she spat angrily. She was angry but not at me, or at least not entirely.

She was promised a husband, an amazing life, children, a castle and a lot more. None of which she would be getting, at least from me. She had every right to be bitter, so I simply nodded.

She looked over at the box on my desk "And hurry up and get the box open. It's magic and will help you hide her when you bring her here."

My eyes shot up, directly meeting hers " What? From where, Duchess?" She ran her fingers through her hair nervously " The dungeon. You can't trust any of he guards on the lower level. They work for someone else."

I quickly opened the box. There was a gold garnet ring in it, with 3 slips of paper that were close to translucent. 'instructions' it read in neat script. It had instructions. I slipped the ring on and it seemed to vanish. I could feel it, but I could no longer see it. I wasn't used to seeing actual magic. This was sort of like a human watching a horror movie for the first time. It was freakishly cool but scary as well.

My bedroom at an entirely different angle appeared. My bathroom door and my bed were usually parallel... but now the foot of my bed faced the door. Everything else was aligned in that exact way too. I closed the door and stood, looking around at the room that was new yet still decorated in mahogany with thin gothic pillars in the corners. My dark curtains in place and even my clothes, as I noticed opening my closet. I sat on the edge of my bed and fell back. Still the same warm and soft bed I'd always had. I quickly went back into my bedroom and grabbed the 3 thin sheets of paper.
